In Fukushima Prefecture, several workers are cleaning the soil near the nuclear power plant and carefully packing it into woven bags. The soil was contaminated with a large amount of radioactive dust during the accident, which was seriously exceeded the standard.
They wear white protective suits made of high-density polyethylene and respirators, and are allowed two hours of rest for every hour of work.
"Let's go, Nakagawa, it's time for a break."
Shimada glanced at his watch, put down his shovel, and told his colleagues to take a break. Even though the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare has increased the legal limit on the amount of radiation that nuclear power plant workers are allowed to be exposed to ten times, they still cannot work here for too long.
The resting place was a building of the former nuclear power plant. The workers collapsed on the ground, tore off their protective clothing and took off their respirators. A large pile of discarded protective clothing was piled up at the door.
They were clearly divided into three different groups.
Several gray-haired people sat together. They were employees of Tepco and the labor dispatch company that Tepco cooperated with. They were all elderly people who were about to retire or had already retired. They either volunteered or were forced to join the rescue work.
The young people sitting together smoking are temporary workers from poor areas who came here to earn more money.
The rest of the group had tattoos, and some were missing their little fingers. They were all gang members or people who owed gang loan sharks.
The building was very quiet. Working in protective clothing and respirators was very physically demanding. Everyone was exhausted and rested quietly to recover their strength.
A four-masted sailing ship was parked at the nearby harbor to provide supplies and temporary rest for the workers. The ship was originally going to Honolulu, Hawaii for cadets' sailing training, but was now temporarily transferred to perform this special mission. The ship has its own generator, fresh water, and some supplies originally prepared for sailing cadets.
Several workers were eating in the cabin. They could only eat hot meals on the boat, and after eating they could take a shower in the shower room at the rear of the sailboat.
Suddenly, they heard hurried footsteps, and a crew member crawled and pushed the door open.
"There's something unusual on the sea!"
There was a sudden panic in the cabin.
“Is the tsunami coming again?”
Many people present had experienced the previous tsunami that almost destroyed everything along the coast. The roaring wall of water that flattened everything had almost become an unforgettable nightmare.
In just a few minutes, everyone gathered on the deck, looking at the sea in horror.
A shock wave appeared on the sea surface in the distance, pulling out a wall of water on the calm sea surface. Even from several kilometers away, it could still be clearly seen. Something was moving towards the coast at an astonishing speed under the sea.
They had never seen anything moving at such a terrifying speed in the sea.
"What the hell was that? A Russian torpedo?"
At the speed of the shock wave, it wouldn't take long to reach the harbor where they were.
"Quick! Leave the harbor! Leave the harbor!"
Some crew members shouted loudly, but this four-masted sailing ship used for training started slowly, and it took a long time just to raise the sails, so there was no time to dodge.
"boom!"
The entire sailboat was cut in half by the shock wave. The wooden hull was twisted and vulnerable under the crushing and shearing of the sea water. The survivors on the ship fell into the sea like dumplings.
They were caught in the turbulent current and had a narrow escape from death.
Norman Osborn stepped on the ground and stared at the nuclear power plant in the distance. The radioactive dust in the air made him feel very comfortable. The long tail moved, and a strong wind swept across dozens of meters.
With a move of his two powerful hind legs, his huge body turned into a blurry black shadow and flew towards the nuclear power plant. The terrifying high speed compressed the air into a milky white color, covering his body.
In the blink of an eye, Norman Osborn arrived at the power plant and crashed directly into the steel structure of the No. 1 reactor. The hard steel was quickly twisted and deformed, and was directly torn apart.
He directly overturned the top of the entire reactor.
Workers had previously repaired the cooling water pumps that were damaged by the tsunami in an attempt to cool the fuel rods in the reactor. Now the reactor is filled with water filled with highly radioactive material.
Norman Osborn lowered his head and gulped down the accumulated water into his stomach. The radioactive substances in the water were absorbed by the stomach wall, converted into energy, and stored in the electrical storage cells under the skin.
"What kind of monster is this?"
The workers who were taking a break heard the loud noise and ran out of the building. They looked in horror at Norman Osborn, whose half body was exposed outside the reactor.
"It wants to steal the core from the reactor."
Shimada was an electrical engineer who worked at the Fukushima nuclear power plant. He identified Norman Osborn's intentions at a glance.
"Hurry, contact the Self-Defense Forces."
The cleanup workers in Fukushima were almost isolated from the outside world. They could only read some long-expired newspapers when they were repairing on the ship. They didn't recognize Norman Osborn at all.
"Are you stupid, Shimada? The Self-Defense Forces won't come at all. Have you forgotten what they did after the tsunami? Let's run!"
Nakagawa grabbed Shimada's arm fiercely. Having experienced the tsunami, he was already extremely disappointed with the Self-Defense Forces for refusing the rescue mission. As for the other workers, they started to run away the moment they saw Norman Osborn, especially the gangsters, who were running like wolves and pigs. In just a few minutes, they were almost out of the nuclear power plant.
As the cooling water level dropped rapidly, the temperature inside the reactor rose rapidly, and it was so hot that it seemed to steam people. The hot steam turned into billowing white smoke after coming into contact with the cold air outside, which was still clearly visible even from several kilometers away. Inside the reactor room, the core, as hot as magma, eroded and destroyed the 15-centimeter-thick steel structure of the fuel tank at the bottom.
The steel structure that came into contact with the core quickly became red hot.
The narrow interior space trapped Norman Osborn's huge body, just like a brown bear that wanted to steal honey but was blocked outside the house. But his strength was much greater than that of an ordinary brown bear.
With a swing of its powerful tail, it directly knocked down a wall. Its two powerful forelimbs pulled out the valves, pipes and various components in the reactor.
After almost emptying the entire reactor, he entered the interior of the reactor and looked greedily at the glowing core at the bottom of the cooling pool. The energy contained in the core was much greater than the nuclear warhead he had captured in North Dakota.
As long as he swallows all the cores of these reactors, his power will surge again.
