"Ghosts asking for money" is actually not scary. It is just a helpless ghost asking passers-by for a few coins. To put it bluntly, the ghost is begging for food.
The scary thing is that countless ghosts suddenly appeared. If the victim is stingy and doesn't give money to anyone, it's fine; but if the victim gives money to one ghost and ignores the others, or gives more to one ghost and less to another, it will be terrible.
The ghost will think you look down on him and will keep pestering you until they are satisfied.
The little paper money that Monk Shi and I carried with us was only used temporarily to drive away wandering ghosts. There were only a few pieces to begin with, and even if we took them all out and burned them, we wouldn't be able to drive away all the ghosts.
I stood in the river, looking at the ghosts reaching out everywhere, and shouted, "Everyone, I don't have that much money today. After today, I will come to the riverside for a big sacrifice. Please give me some convenience!"
As soon as I finished speaking, I reached out and pressed the handle of the knife behind me.
The ghosts surrounding us not only had no intention of retreating, but instead rushed towards us. One by one, pale ghost claws stretched out in front of my eyes without hesitation. Countless hands and faces moved in front of me, and the Rakshasa behind me was unsheathed half a foot in an instant. When the cold knife light suddenly reflected on the ghost's face, I saw a red shadow among the crowd of ghosts.
No wonder there are so many wandering ghosts blocking the road, it turns out that the evil nightmare is behind them.
"Kill—" I roared, drew my sword from its sheath, and clenched the hilt with both hands and chopped forward. Before the blade of Luosha Zongheng disappeared from my sight, I raised my sword for the second time, took a step forward, and the blade struck down in the air again as I moved forward...
I slashed three times in a row, took three steps forward, and rushed towards the red shadow in the distance from the phosphorescent fire that the ghost had transformed into. By the time I slashed down with my fourth slash, my feet were already one meter away from the red shadow. With just one more slash, I would be able to touch the top of the other person's head.
When I raised my sword again, I had already put all my strength into my arms. But before I could strike hard at my opponent, the red-clothed ghost standing opposite me suddenly disappeared from my sight. I felt a chill on my back, and the red-clothed ghost's voice rang out behind me: "Brother Yu, you still haven't remembered anything?"
The long sword that I raised above my head suddenly stopped in mid-air, because the icy chill on my back told me clearly that the female ghost in red was sticking to me.
At the same time, I felt a chill between my ribs, as if a knife was touching my skin—the ghost girl's hands had already reached under my ribs, and her cold fingertips were like a sharp knife drawn from its sheath, slowly moving forward a few inches along the gap between my ribs, and then suddenly stopped.
I could clearly feel that the other person's palm had pinched my bones. If he exerted a little force, his five fingers would pierce my flesh and even break my ribs off my body.
Just as my whole body was tense, the female ghost behind me asked again faintly: "Brother Yu, you still don't remember anything?"
Guan Xingyu screamed, "I don't remember anything. I don't know anything. Don't look for me anymore. I really don't know anything. What do you want? Woo woo woo..."
Guan Xingyu actually burst into tears in fear.
I heard the ghost girl sigh, "Looks like more people are going to die. If you don't kill them, you'll never remember what happened in the past. Someone should go on their way."
As the female ghost's voice fell, I clearly felt her palm pressing on my ribs loosen a little. I took the opportunity to hold the bottom of the knife handle with my hand and pushed it upwards. The long knife that I was holding in the air immediately turned the blade, with the tip of the knife facing downward and the blade facing outward, and fell into the water behind my head.
The Rakshasa sword was over one meter long. Even if no one exerted force, it could still penetrate several inches into the wooden floor when it fell vertically to the ground. Moreover, the Rakshasa sword was engraved with spells for slaying ghosts and exorcising evil spirits. Even if the female ghost had great power, she could not ignore the Rakshasa sword that fell from her head.
The moment the long sword turned up, the ghost girl's hands that were pressing on my ribs suddenly retracted. I also took a step forward, turned around suddenly, grasped the handle of the Rakshasa sword with both hands at the same time, and chopped the ghost girl's back with the sword.
I watched the cold blade slash open the back of the ghost's head and head straight for her waist. The moment the skin of the red-clothed ghost, which was cut by my blade, flipped to the sides like a butterfly spreading its wings, the blade of the Rakshasa also slashed into the flowing water.
When I looked up suddenly, I saw another identical female ghost emerging from the flying human skin. Like a butterfly emerging from its cocoon, it grabbed the edge of the crack in the human skin with both hands and tore it apart with all its might. In an instant, the female ghost's skin flew to both sides of the river as if it were a piece of clothing she had taken off. A female ghost in red, unharmed, suddenly appeared in front of me.
My previous strike had already exhausted its force, and if I wanted to strike again I had to step back half a step before I could raise my knife again, but the female ghost who was approaching me had already cut off my chance of striking again. At the critical moment, I had already let go of the Rakshasa and reached out to touch the dagger on my leg.
My fingers just touched the hilt of the knife when the red-clothed female ghost came close to me, holding down Luosha with one hand and clamping my wrist that was touching the dagger with the other hand: "Little warlock, you don't have to rush to die. I will kill you only if Brother Yu still doesn't remember anything after I kill all those people."
Although I had a long sword in my hand, I felt like I was possessed with my eyes open. I struggled desperately with all my might, but I couldn't use any strength on my hands and feet.
I had a knife in my hand, but I couldn't lift it. There were soul-breaking spears on my feet, but my legs couldn't move at all. The only part that could move was my eyeballs.
I rolled my eyes and looked into the other person's eyes: "What exactly do you want to do?"
"I just want Brother Yu to remember me." The ghost girl said faintly, "Little warlock, you don't know how it feels to be forgotten by someone, right? When you are full of hope to find someone who is very important to you, not only does he not remember who you are, but he is also afraid of you and doesn't even allow you to touch him at all, how would you feel?"
"Hehe..." The female ghost suddenly sneered, "I forgot that warlocks are ruthless. You don't even understand the hearts of women, so how can you understand the hearts of female ghosts, hehe..."
There was no falsehood in the sadness in the eyes of the red-clothed female ghost. She was truly heartbroken... But I had no intention of sympathizing with her sadness. I was only focused on gathering strength to break free from her restraints.
The female ghost in red pressed the back of Rakshasa's knife with one finger, slowly moved it to the handle, and then moved it along my arm to the front of my body, and finally stopped a slender jade finger on my heart.
"Little warlock, you really shouldn't have come back. Other nightmare ghosts can only haunt people in their dreams, but I can put you in a nightmare anytime and anywhere. Unless you die, you can't break free from my nightmare."
The female ghost gently opened my clothes with her fingers, pressed her fingernails against my chest, and gently scratched downwards... The bluish-white nails cut my skin like a sharp knife. The piercing pain suddenly rushed into my mind. I couldn't help but shake my arms and wanted to draw the knife to fight back, but the force I exerted disappeared without a trace when my shoulders were poured into my arms.
The female ghost smiled softly and said, "Little sorcerer, did you see that? I won't let you move. You won't be able to move even if you die of pain."
"If I can move, I will destroy you even if it costs me my life!" I stared at the female ghost. She was slightly stunned and suddenly screamed, "Asshole, don't look at me like that!"
The ghost raised her hand and slapped me hard in the face. I flew into the air and fell into the water. The cold water immediately choked my mouth. I struggled instinctively, but suddenly found that my hands and feet could move. I didn't have time to think about anything else. I turned slightly along the direction of the water flow and swam towards the ghost.
Before I could get close to her, I saw a pale hand reaching down from the water, grabbing my chest with incredible accuracy, and pulling me up to the surface. When I saw the red-clothed ghost girl again, she was already in tears: "Why do you look at me like that? Why do you look at me like Brother Yu?"
The red-clothed female ghost swung her hand and slapped me in the face without waiting for me to speak, shouting, "Why did you say those words... Why did you say the same thing to him?"
I was so angry that I held the hot blood in my mouth and sprayed it directly at his face. As the blood mist burst out of my mouth, I heard Monk Shi roaring, "Death, you evildoer!"
The next moment, Monk Shi had already leaped into the air, holding the iron rod in both hands and hitting the ghost girl on the head. While Monk Shi's iron rod was still in the air, the scriptures engraved on it had already burst into dazzling golden light. The moment the iron rod, as fast as thunder, fell from the sky with a piercing whistle, the ghost girl who was holding my chest suddenly disappeared, and Monk Shi's iron rod hit the water without any surprise. When the water splashed to both sides of the river, I also took three steps back and stood in the river.
When Monk Shi and I looked around with full vigilance, the ghosts that had been crowding in the river had disappeared without a trace. The red-clothed female ghost who had just been standing in the water appeared where we entered the water. She was pinching the only student who ran back to the riverbank and smiled sadly, "I said, if Brother Yu can't remember anything, someone will die. This time, he is the one who died!"
“No… Don’t…” The student only shouted once before his throat was cut by the ghost girl’s nails. The blood spurting from his neck instantly dyed half of his body red.
When the red-dressed ghost smiled and let go, the student covered in blood actually stretched out a hand and grabbed the weeds on the ground and crawled towards the river...
