Su Yi was awakened by a thunderclap in her ears. She sat up in shock, gasping for breath. It was dark all around. She reached for her phone and checked the time. It was past three in the morning. She was about to get up to get a glass of water when someone grabbed her wrist. A voice came from behind her: "Where are you going?"
Xu Ruoxing didn't open her eyes, she just grabbed Su Yi by feeling. The room was dark, Su Yi turned on the bedside lamp, Xu Ruoxing opened her eyes, it was a bit glaring, she rubbed her eyes, and heard Su Yi say: "I'll go out and get a glass of water."
She asked Xu Ruoxing: "Do you want it?"
Xu Ruoxing said, "I'll go pour it."
Su Yi threw back the quilt and got out of bed, sitting on the bed and watching Xu Ruoxing go out. The door closed automatically, but there was a loud muffled sound next to her ear and her eardrum was buzzing. She couldn't help but press her right ear, wondering if her eardrum was injured today.
Soon Xu Ruoxing came in, handed Su Yi a cup of warm water and looked at her.
Su Yi's face was not very good, a little pale. Xu Ruoxing remembered that she had a very good sleep quality during this period and hardly woke up at night. She asked Su Yi: "Did you have a dream?"
Su Yi held the cup, raised her head slightly, looked at Xu Ruoxing and smiled: "How did you know?"
Xu Ruoxing asked her: "What did you dream about?"
Su Yi was silent for a moment. She didn't remember whether she had a dream or not, but she was afraid that Xu Ruoxing would worry, so she said, "I had a nightmare."
After that, she reached out her hand, hugged Xu Ruoxing, and said, "It's okay now."
Xu Ruoxing patted her back, and they lay down again. Xu Ruoxing wanted to talk, but Su Yi said, "Go to sleep."
She said, āIām sleepy.ā
Xu Ruoxing had no choice but to hold her and hummed softly. Su Yi's breathing was steady and long. She was suffocated in Xu Ruoxing's arms. It was a long, long time before she heard Xu Ruoxing's steady breathing. Su Yi hugged her tighter. Her ears were buzzing, and she could not hear Xu Ruoxing's heartbeat clearly. She turned over and pressed her ears with her hands, but felt nothing.
When she woke up again, it was already morning. Xu Ruoxing got up early, and Su Yi wanted to make breakfast for her, but Xu Ruoxing said, "I'll go to the company to eat."
She looked at Su Yi: "Would you like to sleep a little longer?"
In fact, they had slept yesterday afternoon and were not that sleepy. Su Yi got up after she left, washed up, opened the refrigerator, and wanted to go out to eat, but then she thought of what happened yesterday. She took the buns from the refrigerator and put them on the table. When she turned around to take the lid, her hand slipped and the lid fell to the ground and hit her feet with a crisp sound. Su Yi's face turned pale, and she heard the explosion again.
Just a little noise.
Su Yi was silent for a moment, having no appetite. She walked to the sofa and sat down, turning on the computer to search for things like explosion sequelae, explosion deafness, and tympanic membrane perforation. She was dazzled by all the professional terms and could not understand them at all. The only thing she could understand was that her hearing was impaired.
She sat there blankly for a few seconds, and suddenly felt a little afraid to go to the hospital.
The living room was quiet. The air conditioner vents made a whirring sound, which resonated in her ears, a buzzing sound. The sound was suddenly far away from her and then very close. Su Yi's face turned pale. She reached for her cell phone and called Xu Ruoxing.
Xu Ruoxing was in a meeting with the manager of the second factory. When he saw the phone, he raised his hand slightly. The manager paused and said nothing. Xu Ruoxing picked up the phone and spoke in a gentle voice instead of the serious one just now: "What's wrong? Are you awake?"
Su Yi calmed down after hearing her voice. She asked, "Are you working?"
