My Deep Sea Fishery

Chapter 922: The smallest sea turtle

Views:

In addition, sea turtles usually only lay eggs at night. Before laying eggs, if there is any slight disturbance, the sea turtles will turn around and go back to the sea immediately, regardless of their pregnancy. However, once they start laying eggs, even if someone hits the turtle's shell hard, it will not move at all.

"This island... turns out to be a turtle nesting ground."

Xiang Yang looked at the beach. If the high tide had not pushed away some of the sand, and he had not arrived at the island at that time, no one would probably ever know that this small island was actually one of the important habitats for sea turtles.

Turtle eggs have extremely high nutritional value.

Sea turtles are long-lived animals, and the nutritional value of the eggs they lay is much higher than that of eggs from ordinary animals.

Xiang Yang thought about it carefully and realized that there was no protected area related to sea turtles in the entire Qinglongwan sea area.

In other words, these turtle eggs can be picked up and taken back.

Xiang Yang played with the turtle egg in his hand.

The nutritional value of various turtle eggs is very rich, including sea turtle eggs, and all turtle eggs can be collectively called turtle eggs.

According to the latest research, turtle eggs have the effect of preventing arteriosclerosis, hypertension, diabetes, etc.

Practice has also proven that turtle eggs have antibacterial, anti-cancer and anti-aging effects.

The protein content in turtle eggs is about twice that of eggs, the calcium content is about four times that of eggs, and the riboflavin content is twice that of eggs. However, the cholesterol content, which is harmful to human health, is only one-tenth of that of eggs, the total sugar content is one-sixteenth of that of eggs, and the total fat content is half of that of eggs.

Compared with chicken eggs, turtle eggs are a nutritional health product that is high in protein, low in fat, low in sugar and low in cholesterol. They have higher edible value and are a great tonic for people at any stage.

Turtle eggs have many functions and effects.

Various data have proved that turtle eggs are definitely an excellent food with high protein, low fat, low cholesterol and low sugar.

Due to the "one high and three low" composition of turtle eggs, they have great medicinal and nutritional value for the human body. Studies have shown that turtle eggs can lower blood pressure, prevent diabetes and prevent arteriosclerosis. They also have good antibacterial effects and even have the magical effect of delaying aging.

In addition, Xiang Yang also knew that turtle eggs have a strong effect in inhibiting liver cancer, stomach cancer and leukemia.

It also has a strong preventive and therapeutic effect on anemia, weakness and leukopenia caused by chemotherapy.

Regular consumption of turtle eggs is very beneficial to the physical recovery of patients with high blood pressure, high blood sugar, high blood lipids, patients with tuberculosis, and friends with weak constitutions.

Xiang Yang held the turtle egg in his hand, thought again and again, and finally put it back on the beach and buried it well with fine sand.

Eggs are very common in Xiang Yang's daily life. Eggs and ducks are both indispensable items in Xiang Yang's life.

As long as it is an egg, it seems to be delicious food in Xiang Yang's eyes.

However, no matter how Xiang Yang thought about these black turtle eggs, he felt that he still couldn't get over the hurdle in his heart.

Although these sea turtle eggs are laid all year round like chickens, and there are two types of eggs: fertilized eggs and oligoclase eggs, in Xiang Yang's subconscious mind, he still thinks that turtles are spiritual creatures.

Xiang Yang felt that he could not eat any spiritual creature, nor was he willing to catch it for others to eat.

Xiang Yang also knew that the yolks and egg whites in most turtle eggs were non-coagulated protein. Their eggs would not coagulate after being cooked and would always be milky white. In other words, no matter how the turtle eggs were cooked, they would always look like raw eggs. Most people would have no desire to eat them when they saw them.

Of course, Xiang Yang also knew that many people loved to eat turtle eggs.

A few years ago, thousands of Olive Ridley turtles flocked to Ostional Beach in northwestern Costa Rica to lay their eggs.

According to statistics from local marine biologists, a total of about 250,000 Pacific turtles came ashore to lay eggs in the three days before and after.

It was the largest turtle nesting event in recent years, and such a scene is rarely seen.

Many local people in Costa Rica have never seen such a magnificent sight.

At that time, countless locals went to the beach to pick up turtle eggs and then sell them.

"Hmm?" Suddenly, Xiang Yang found some extremely small eggs among countless turtle eggs.

Xiang Yang raised his eyebrows, "Could this be a bird egg or a snake egg?"

These eggs are much smaller than normal turtle eggs, there are a lot of them, and they are all together. It is obvious that they cannot be bird eggs or snake gallbladders.

Xiang Yang walked over and thought with some surprise, "Could this be a turtle egg?"

The Olive Ridley is a type of sea turtle, but it is very different from ordinary sea turtles.

The Olive Ridley is the smallest of all sea turtles discovered so far, with a body length of only 60 to 70 centimeters and a weight of about 12 kilograms. There are pairs of scales on the front of the head and back. There are many costal shields, 6 to 9 pairs, and the first pair is tangent to the nuchal shield. There are 4 pairs of lower edge shields on the abdomen, and there is a small hole on the rear edge of each shield. The limbs are flat like paddles. The head, limbs and back of the body are dark olive green, and the plastron is light orange-yellow.

Olive Ridley is an omnivorous sea turtle that preys on benthic and floating crustaceans, mollusks, jellyfish and other invertebrates, occasionally fish eggs, and also eats plant-based foods.

September to January of the following year is the egg-laying season for the Olive Ridley turtle.

During reproduction, Olive Ridley turtles come ashore in groups to lay eggs.

After laying eggs, the Olive Ridley turtles will move around in the sea near the nesting area or in scattered foraging areas.

Xiang Yang carefully recalled the distribution range of the Olive Ridley turtle, and the more he thought about it, the more he felt that these small turtle eggs were Olive Ridley turtle eggs.

The Olive Ridley turtle is distributed throughout the tropical waters, and its migration route is along tropical and part of the subtropical regions, including the central eastern, northeastern, northwest, southeastern, southwest and western center of the Atlantic Ocean, the eastern and western Indian Ocean, and the central eastern, northwest, southwest and western center of the Pacific Ocean.

The Qinglongwan waters are also within the migration range of the Olive Ridley turtle.

Although Xiang Yang had never found the Olive Ridley turtle in the Qinglongwan waters in the past, that does not mean that there are no Olive Ridley turtles in the Qinglongwan waters.

Speaking of which, most people have never heard of the name Olive Ridley, but in reality, the appearance of the Olive Ridley is what most people think of as a turtle.

The Olive Ridley turtle is a marine animal with a very strange appearance. Its body is small and round.

The carapace is generally only about 600 mm long, not more than 800 mm, with an olive green back and two pairs of forehead scales. There are six pairs of costal shields, the first pair of which is connected to the nuchal shield, and four pairs of lower edge shields, each with a small hole on the rear edge.

The limbs are flat and covered with large scales. The front edge of the forelimb is 75-45 mm long, with a pointed end like a pair of scissors; the front edge of the hind limb is 180-5 mm long, with a spade-shaped end. Each has one claw. The tail is short. (To be continued)
