Planet Sigma 373, now.
Outside the shuttle, the towering trees stood quietly in place. The dim sunlight of this galaxy shone down, and the lush leaves cast patches of shadows in the forest.
The bright red figures of the Skitarii shuttled through the green forest, and the arc rifles were gradually submerged in the green ocean as the Skitarii walked.
Inside the shuttle, the sound of electricity, representing pleasure, crackled.
"Ah! Praise Om Messiah!"
Hades looked at Sage Kirkland helplessly as he walked back and forth. His robe and black stone pendant swayed as the sage walked. Electricity hissed, and words similar to mechanical prayers poured out of Sage Kirkland's voice machine.
Jin, who called Hades over, shrank his head and hid behind Hades timidly to prevent the Kirkland Sage from noticing him.
Of course, Jin had no good feelings towards a crazy former owner.
When Sage Kirkland finally finished saying weird things like "Ohm Messiah, help me" and "God of All Machines, I'll kowtow to you", the sage finally calmed down, the cooling system increased its power and started working, and Kirkland looked at Hades again.
"It's incredible. According to the preliminary survey of the drone group, across the forest, in the center of the largest human city on this planet, there used to be a very strong anti-psychic field."
Hades quickly grasped the key words.
"Wait, ever?"
The indicator light on the sage's face lit up, and then he further explained to Hades,
"Yes, we are not observing any anti-psionic fields at the moment."
"It is highly likely that the humans who once lived here destroyed the device."
The sage muttered in dissatisfaction, and the electronic sound became increasingly harsh.
But this is enough. Before this, Sage Kirkland had never really found a device that could stably generate a strong anti-psychic field.
Compared to the excited Mechanical Sage, Hades fell into deep thought.
The black stone obelisk built in the center of the human city is strange no matter how you think about it.
"Sage, can you let me see the images sent by the drone?"
"Please."
Hades instantly received the data packet from the Kirkland Sage. After entering the key, Hades began to check the screen.
Houses that look like medieval buildings appear in the picture, the streets are covered with dust, and some buildings have collapsed due to age.
There is a huge square in the center of the city. The floor is paved with black stones and outlined with bright green lines, but at this moment it is dimmed by dust.
In the middle, the black obelisk several people wide stood indifferently, overlooking all living beings.
But the original straight lines of the obelisk were destroyed, and some pits broke the smoothness, revealing the layout inside.
Other curved dark walls surround the obelisk, engraved with prayers and intricate patterns.
Directly in front of the square is a one-person-high podium similar to a bulletin board.
No. Something's wrong.
Hades frowned unconsciously.
Even though the style and building materials are similar, they don’t go together.
What is going on
Hades was thinking about the obelisk in the middle. The picture from the drone was still too blurry, which prevented Hades from thinking further.
“I have to go and see the scene.”
Hades said finally.
In the dense yet silent forest, a group of people were moving.
Hades was in the middle of the team, wearing a MK3 modified power armor, with low-key bone white and moss green interwoven. On the heavy shoulder armor, on one side was a six-thorn skull representing the Fourteenth Legion, and on the other side was a gear-ring skull symbolizing the Mechanicus of Mars.
Hades modified the MK3 power armor to make its defensive performance even better. Although the cost was that the armor became heavier, for Hades, this weight was still a piece of cake.
The slender spray gun was folded on the right side of the backpack, and the serving arm was quietly folded on Hades' back. Inside, there was a phlogiston welding torch, a plasma cutter, and a deflagration blasting gun.
Hades was holding a grenade launcher and following behind a Skitarii vanguard.
The branches were hastily chopped and broken by the Crusaders, and the grass was crushed. They were now walking on the forest path that the Crusaders had opened up earlier.
"We are almost at the first marker, my lord."
The Skitarii in front of Hades said,
"Um."
Hades responded hastily, pulling Jin who was lagging behind him, and continued to move forward.
"I hate this muddy ground."
Jin complained, it was hard on his gears.
Hades smiled and looked up. As far as he could see, he saw a tall bell tower protruding from between the trees, with artificially carved vines entwined around the outer wall of the bell tower.
They walked for a while longer.
The trees gradually became sparse, the sunlight became abundant, and an off-white building appeared before our eyes. In the open space was a fairly large village where several crusaders were stationed, continuing their exploration.
"Lord Hades, according to our preliminary judgment, this should be a village engaged in agricultural production and education."
The captain of the Skitarii in front of him was now diligently telling Hades about the results of their previous exploration.
"Currently, Skitarii Squadron 785 has not found anything related to the Black Stone Device you are interested in."
"Previous sages have already obtained some technologies related to agricultural machinery here. Apart from that, there is a high probability that there is no other useful technology here."
Hades blinked. He had never seen agriculture and education integrated into one. This made him a little interested.
The exploration team happened to be planning to take a short break here, so Hades took the opportunity to stroll around.
Jin had gone to dry the moisture out of his cables, and Sage Kirkland was not with the party this time, the cautious sage not leaving without packing up all his life-saving devices.
The Crusaders were always in Hades' sight, so Hades strolled around with great confidence.
The main body of the village is composed of low white bungalows, most of which are used for accommodation.
It looks like an ordinary large rural village.
However, when Hades reached the other end of the village, things changed.
A rustling sound was heard.
Hades raised his gun and leaned forward—
Some small mobile machines were busily shuttling between the bungalows, and most of them were carrying things like fruits
Those strangely shaped little carts loaded with food emerged from the forest and moved tirelessly in another direction.
The Crusaders that had been sent over earlier turned a blind eye and continued their search.
"What is this?"
Hades looked at the small convoy carrying food in front of him and was extremely confused.
