My Life as A Death Guard

Chapter 134: 125 The Peak of Destiny

Views:

On the vast earth, white and yellow water vapor evaporates from above, flowing and accumulating between the thick clouds that touch the ground.

On a planet where agriculture is the basis of life, abundant rainfall will bring fertile soil and a bounty that will last all year long.

The toxic environment of Barbaros also determines that these falling raindrops contain rich chemicals. Although they may not be very friendly to humans, they will bring nourishment to Barbaros' crops.

There is no farmer who has not prayed for a good harvest. Earth, please give us this handful of food!

Thousands of years of prayers created ripples, and the gods cast their gaze, but never swept across the common people.

The first drop of rain, carrying the blessing of Father Rain, fell on the tip of Karas' wings. The turbid rain slid down along the lines of the butterfly's wings and flowed into the pale and blood-red cracks.

A seed that has been caressed by a loving father will emerge from its cocoon and become a butterfly under God's guidance.

Maybe it shouldn't be at this moment. The seeds need a proper amount of time to grow, but the nail stuck in the gears of fate interrupts the rhythm of the growth of all things.

Then let a rainstorm and a loud thunder wake up all the sleeping things in advance!

A thunderous elegy exploded, and heavy rain poured down. The sky was completely dark and the place was indistinguishable.

"Keep the formation, three of us will meet the enemy!"

Hades' screams spread through the heavy rain, but the noise of electricity on the communication channel was too loud to be distinguished.

As far as the eye could see, the bone-white armor of the Death Guard glared in the dim night, and the marching troops were still moving.

At the outermost part of the queue, creatures unique to Barbarus began to attack their queue. After being drenched in strong acidic rain, they became even more violent.

A faint ray of spiritual energy flashed through the rain.

Hundreds of pus hounds galloped across the wasteland, and pus eagles as dense as raindrops hovered in the sky. They appeared from the pouring rain, as if all the predatory animals in Barbarus had gathered here.

It was like the end of Barbaros, and death appeared in the rain of Barbaros.

If anyone was present, they would probably kneel down trembling.

However-

The sound of gunfire pierced the rainy night, and the flames tore through the darkness.

The Death Guard silently pointed their scythes and guns at the screaming prey.

The enemy's flesh and blood mixed with the rain splashed, and in the mud, blood, flesh and mud mixed together.

The Death Guards brought by Mortarion and Hades this time were all of Barbarus descent.

They had fought these barbarous beasts since the day they had sworn to follow Mortarion, the day they had only a makeshift gas mask.

Back then, they relied on suicide marches. The comrades chosen by the enemy would be responsible for attracting firepower, and every encounter with the enemy would be a separation of life and death.

But now, the enemy's corpses are shattered under their sickles, and every bullet will accurately take away a life!

The beasts that once required an entire rebel squad to kill are now nothing compared to their modified flesh, sophisticated power armor, and advanced explosive bombs.

They will be the new Death of Barbarus.

Hades discovered with some helplessness that those groups responding to the enemy on the outermost circle would even consciously retreat to the inner circle after a period of time, not to rest, but to allow those comrades who were eager to fight to come out and engage the enemy.

But it was also in line with the marching tactics, so Hades did not say much, as long as the formation of the entire team could be maintained and the marching speed could be maintained.

Mortarion's voice rang out,

".Barbarus, has it been related to this all along?"

"I think so."

Hades replied silently.

The entire Barbarus has long had an inexplicable connection with Nurgle. It is the originally destined stage and the beginning of the original destiny.

And now, fate is still trying to get back on track.

The entire army quickly entered the mountains. The increasingly turbid rain was accompanied by thick poisonous gas, but the power armor blocked them one by one.

The road up the mountain was narrow and dangerous, not suitable for the advance of a large army, so Hades and Mortarion left two hundred Death Guards and five Untouchables at the entrance to the mountain to guard the mountain road and prevent the wild beasts in the wasteland from attacking the mountain.

In retrospect, this choice was the right one.

Hades and Mortarion led the remaining troops up the mountain.

Led by the Death Shroud, Hades and Mortarion were always at the front of the team. Under the heavy rain, the familiar yet unfamiliar scenery and memories gradually caught up with them.

They were bombarded here.

Hades subconsciously became alert, but this time, the crisis came from under his feet.

The soft soil soaked by rain was like a quagmire, pulling their feet to the ground, and the smooth and hard feet of the power armor were climbed up by the mud.

A bolt of lightning struck.

Big and small, fat and thin, the figures of alien lords suddenly emerged from the mud.

Fluctuations of psychic energy flickered around them, and the lord's eyes turned white, with no autonomy at all.

Hades observed carefully and was sure that basically all the alien lords on Barbarus were here, but surprisingly, there was no sign of Nakre here.

"I didn't expect that they were just another kind of puppet playthings after all."

Mortarion's voice sounded from behind the breathing mask. Those alien lords who once oppressed the people of Barbarus and sewed puppets with human corpses were nothing more than slaves of another higher level.

He raised the sickle, the chainsaw blade roared, and the chain tied to the end of the sickle rustled.

"The defeated general is just another kill."

He was answered by the sound of gunfire as the Death Guard began their attack.

Fluctuations of psychic energy came from between the lords. Unlike Mortarion who directly relied on his memories to harvest the stronger aliens, Hades commanded the team that protected the Untouchables, carefully cutting and suppressing the psychic fluctuations of the alien lords.

The Untouchables are dispersed among xenos groups to calm violent waves of the Warp and strengthen the barrier between the Warp and the physical world.

The alien was surrounded by the Untouchables and its psychic flashes dimmed instantly. The Death Guards around it immediately seized the opportunity and began to reap the harvest.

Hades stared at the information on his helmet as he easily cut off an alien lord. Its dull head spun and fell to the ground, splashing blood on the mud.

The subspace fluctuations here are very intense, and the extensive use of psychic energy by the alien lords has also exacerbated the ripples. The life data transmitted from the armor of the Untouchables is not good, and some weak Untouchables have even fallen into a coma.

Hades frowned. Although the Untouchables have a restraining relationship with the creatures of the subspace, as long as the opponent's strength is high enough, it can actually bring pressure to the Untouchables in the opposite direction.

But the good news is that the current Death Guard is enough to deal with these alien lords. Even though arms and bodies keep crawling out of the mud, the huge number and equipment advantage still makes the Death Guard invincible.

"The other side wants to hold us back."

Mortarion's voice came from the communication channel, and the crackling sound of electricity almost made Hades unable to hear his words clearly.

Mortarion lowered his gun and pointed it at the corpse that had just been cut into pieces by Silence. The blood and flesh were surging, as if it was still trying to piece itself together.

"Bang!"

The alien pistol's dark lamp flashed with a blue-purple light after it was charged.

Hades swept the obituary, breaking the alien's body in two, but this time it did not struggle after falling.

Hades pondered for a moment and analyzed the current battlefield situation.

The number of corpses that crawled up was obviously less than the number they killed, and the number of lords on the field was gradually decreasing.

But it will probably take some time before everything is cleaned up.

"And then upwards?"

"Um."

After leaving enough Death Guards behind, they continued to climb up with some elite Death Guards and Death Shrouds.

This time, no one was left behind due to the erosion of the poisonous gas.

Hades subconsciously held his breath.

Rolling poisonous gas swirled above the mountain top. The originally heavy rain stopped here, and the originally thick clouds formed a huge cavity here.

A foot deep of calm rainwater piled up on the platform at the top of the mountain.

At that position, where they once fought with the alien Na'kre, a bloated figure was standing there.

Gorgeous and decadent colors drifted in the dim light. A pair of huge butterfly wings spread out from behind Carastiphon. On the pale and swollen face, tiny and regular moss-like patterns climbed on it.

There were no other enemies, no ambush as imagined, he just hovered there quietly, his toes touching the water surface—

Smile.

"I'm here after all, Mortarion. I did it."

Calastiphon was talking to himself, or perhaps to Mortarion.

Hades raised his incendiary gun and prepared to shoot—

Mortarion reached out and blocked his shot.

!

"15 seconds."

Hades took a deep breath and suppressed his anger. At the same time, he ordered the Death Guards who followed them up the mountain to disperse around and occupy advantageous shooting points.

He can give them 15 seconds to think about their lives.

Mortarion nodded.

"Karas, why?"

Mortarion felt his voice breaking. Why, why betrayal

It was not until Mortarion stood here and saw the fallen figure of Calastiphon with his own eyes that the last glimmer of hope in his heart was completely shattered.

Why rebel

Could it be that Karas was bewitched by the chaos of the warp and fell into the abyss himself

The original inertia was completely broken, and old friends turned against each other. Why

Mortarion still remembered Karas, the man who spoke bluntly to him. When did he become like this

Carastiphon smiled.

"Weakness is the original sin."

He said.

"You are not really weak, you just don't understand."

The answer came from Hades' roaring bullets.

"-throat-"

Karas raised his sickle and actually blocked the powerful attack from the Primarch!

Strange yellow-green psychic lightning entangled on his sickle. Mortarion knew that Karas might use psychic power, so he immediately untied the sickle and dissipated the power, rather than confront him.

"We have all seen those unacceptable scenes, why do you still choose to fall?!"

Mortarion spoke hoarsely.

"There is no freedom in this world! Mortarion, the flames of war will consume us all sooner or later!"

Typhon stared at them, they were in the abyss without knowing it.

To associate with a tyrant who cares nothing for the individual is to be doomed.

"Instead of working for a tyrant, it is better to choose a merciful father who will at least give us a peaceful ending."

Unfortunately, He was unwilling to accept Hades, so he could only save some of them.

"Mortarion, I believe you are not one of those who will be deceived by appearances!"

Mortarion would understand him.

"fart!"

Seeing Mortarion retreating, Hades, who had been assisting in shooting, stepped forward and started fighting with Karas.

"If you are forced to be a dog, don't bark!"

Hearing this, Mortarion glanced at Hades in disbelief. Had he ever said anything like this before

Hades, however, was unconscious and was frantically trying to break through Calastyphon's scythe defense.

The finely crafted backpack and melta gun behind Hades were pointed directly at Karas' face and began to shoot, but were all blocked by a faint layer of psychic barrier around Karas Typhon.

Karas's bloated body wrapped in psychic energy and his psychic shield were completely vulnerable in front of Hades' black domain!

But the prerequisite is that he breaks through Karas's scythe in defense!

The power of Kharas, cursed by Nurgle, became extremely great, and Hades felt his arm numb from the shock.

Realizing Hades's intention, Mortarion swung his scythe from the side -

Water splashes everywhere!

Karas flapped his wings and flew directly into the sky. His colorful and dim wings fluttered in the air. The swirling poisonous gas clouds began to gather around him, and violent psychic energy flashed and danced.

"I'm sad that you never understand this, Hades."

He was high above, looking down at the tiny dot on the ground.

"You are so short-sighted, Hades. So short-sighted and shallow."

"Whenever Mortarion and I were wondering how we got here, and what we should do with our thoughts, you were always reluctant to leave."

Hades gnashed his teeth as he watched the figure rising into the sky. Why was it always a flying enemy?!

Gunshots rang out, and Carastiphon easily dodged the shots from the Death Guard.

"Short-sighted and ignorant, staring at their own things and unwilling to look up to see the bigger narratives."

Hades looked at Mortarion, and the chain on Mortarion's scythe was obviously not long enough.

Hades looked at Karas again, and it was obvious that Karas had to wait for the clouds to accumulate before his next attack.

He opened the private communication channel and spoke briefly to Mortarion.

Mortarion nodded.

Hades slowly backed away.

Karas stared at him in confusion. He could feel the power of the clouds and rain building up. They didn't have much time. Except for Mortarion, Karas would kill everyone else.

However-

Mortarion inserted the sickle Annihilation into the ground beside him, and Hades, who had just retreated, suddenly rushed towards Mortarion!

The Primarch crossed his hands into a pedal and sent Hades charging high into the air.

"I'm superficial? You're the one who's shortsighted!"

Following the boost Mortarion gave him, Hades rushed directly towards Karas, trying to hit him with Obituary.

Karas was speechless, then laughed.

"You are always so stupid."

He happily watched Hades rushing towards him, then turned around and dodged the barbarian's attack.

He watched Hades' figure begin to fall under the pull of gravity. Hades was still trying to attack him with his fangs and claws. Some bullets came again, but they were doomed to be futile.

"Yeah?"

Along with Hades' voice, a huge sickle arrived at Karas's location.

Mortarion threw the scythe of Annihilation directly over!

Just now, Hades' figure blocked the sickle behind him!

Karas, whose attention had been on Hades, was hit by the giant sickle. The sickle, flashing with cold light, tore deeply into his power armor, and his internal organs spilled out.

Hades, who had just fallen, grabbed the chain that Mortarion had deliberately released and was originally wrapped around the end of the sickle. Hades exerted force with both hands, and with a sudden pause, he directly pulled Karas down!

Typhon flapped his wings violently, trying to resist the pull from Hades, but the Primarch's superb skills made the scythe stuck firmly between Calas's flesh and skeleton, making it difficult to escape.

The clouds that had just gathered began to dissipate again, as if realizing that the situation was hopeless. Outside the mountain, the originally heavy rain began to thin out.

They fell straight toward the earth under the influence of gravity.

“Bang! Bang!”

The water splashes away,

Hades pressed on Karas, suppressing Karas with the black domain. He held the sickle obituary, ready to reap lives.

"Don't kill me."

A glimmer of clarity suddenly flashed in Karas's originally turbid eyes, and he began to struggle. He tried to continue speaking, "No, you can't kill me," but the phlegm that came up prevented him from speaking.

Sobbing came.

Hades didn't care, he swung his scythe -

Blood flowed down the power armor.

Hades took a deep breath and controlled his anger.

He turned his head and looked at Mortarion, who was holding his obituary and stopping him from chopping down further.

"Don't tell me you're still thinking about saving him."

"No,"

Mortarion said,

"I know this witchcraft."

He pointed to the tiny patterns on Carastiphon's face.

"The death of the host will open a rift to the subspace."

"And everything around him will be indiscriminately sucked into the turbulence of the warp."

This is their real plan.

Hardy paused, and thought for a moment, somewhat irritably.

Then he took a deep breath.

"Then do you have any other ideas?"

Mortarion was speechless.

But at the same time, Hades could sense that Calastiphon's psychic energy was beginning to become disordered—

Hades acted decisively and used his left hand, which was not holding the sickle, to strangle Karas' throat.

The black domain began to flow along Hades' left hand, and after sensing the soul, they naturally flowed out of the area where they were originally imprisoned.

Karas's soul began to tremble, and Hades could feel him trying to escape.

Large patches of turbid green and small patches of white that were not yet dirty mixed together to form the soul of Calastiphon.

A blasphemous breath emanated from the dark green soul spark.

Hades controlled the black domain and carefully began to try to devour Karas' soul.

This was the first time he took the initiative to devour a "human" soul, which made Hades subconsciously feel uncomfortable.

Karas's soul screamed and fled, but was soon surrounded by the slowly influx of darkness.

Drops of sweat flowed from Hades' head. It was extremely difficult and tiring to control the black domain outside the body. He felt as if he had run around the equator of Barbaros.

Soon, Callas lost his voice and lay there dying.

Hades released his hand that was tightly gripping Karas' throat and looked at Karas in silence.

All signs of Nurgle disappeared, and Kalas became like a dead man. Even if left alone, he would not live long after being wounded by the Scythe of Destruction.

Hades was sure that even if he killed Karas now, the spell would not work.

Only a small piece of his soul remained now, and Hades devoured all the turbid parts.

Could a person still survive without a large portion of his soul? Hades didn't know.

Mortarion pulled up Hades, and the Primarch silently picked up Kharas, and the two wings fell off Typhon's back.

"Get ready to go down the mountain."

Mortarion said.

Hades was so exhausted that he was in no mood to refute him this time.
