“It’s been a pleasure working with you.”
The Lord of Death spoke hoarsely under his respirator. Mortarion, who had stayed in the potion room for a long time, finally showed up at the end of the Druun Campaign to participate in the farewell ceremony of the Luna Wolves.
The Great Crusade is still going on, and the war-torn front is calling for the Moon Wolves' legions. Since the Battle of Druun did not consume too much of the legion's strength, the imperial edicts soon arrived here, pointing swords at the battlefield and igniting blazing flames.
Compared to the previous judgment-like Vulkan and Fenus, and compared to the previous unpleasant parting of Perturabo, the cooperation between the Death Guard and the Luna Wolves can be said to be the smoothest cooperation, without a doubt. If it weren't for Mortarion's sudden awakening, the relationship between the two legions should have been quite close by now.
Although the relationship between the two legions can now be described as "pretty good", a simple farewell ceremony can at least show that the two legions are willing to continue cooperating next time - this is a signal sent to bystanders.
Mortarion had a nonchalant attitude towards this, after he realized that there was a possibility of corruption anyway, and that he might have to cooperate with some legions anyway, Mortarion chose at least not to cooperate with a Primarch like Perturabo, and although Horus might betray him, he was at least now the most amiable Primarch Mortarion had ever met.
Horus was chatting with Mortarion, and the Wolf God keenly discovered that his brother seemed to have been deliberately avoiding the Wolf God's solicitation, using some pretexts to avoid Horus' invitation, but Mortarion still showed up at the farewell ceremony of the Luna Wolves. The Wolf God certainly would not miss this opportunity, and pulled the restrained Mortarion to frantically express his beliefs about the Emperor and the Legion.
On the other side, Hades pulled Vorcus to chat with Abaddon and Seganus. The two Moon Wolves were happy to recall some old battles under Hades' questioning, while Vorcus pondered some of Hades' techniques in conversation.
At Hades's reminder, Vox was intentionally trying to understand Hades's grasp of the rhythm of the conversation and how to change the subject in a timely and correct manner. To Vox's surprise or slight frustration, if he was willing to think deeply, he would find that Hades also used these techniques to deal with him in the beginning.
But then there was no more. Vox hoped that this represented Hades' trust in him, rather than Hades changing his rhetoric to a more advanced one.
"It's a shame that I didn't get to spar in the duel cage in the end. I still want to experience the superb skills of the Moon Wolves in person."
Abaddon smiled politely but awkwardly, and in his heart he was madly complaining that it was fortunate that he did not fight Hades in the duel cage. However, Seganus on the side said seriously,
"Next time we meet, you are welcome to compete with us, Hades. I am also looking forward to competing with you."
"Besides me, there are other warriors in the Luna Wolves who are proficient in various martial arts. I think they will be looking forward to sparring with you."
Hades smiled and said, "It's a deal then. Remember to bring your weapons next time."
Vox noticed that Hades' eyes suddenly left Seganus for a moment, but then suddenly returned.
"Don't worry, as long as the situation allows, I will of course use pure martial arts. Remember not to die, and make an appointment to spar with you next time."
Seganus smiled. Death was a common thing for warriors, and as a mourner, he had already prepared for it. Although Hades' attitude just now made him a little confused, Seganus decided to attribute it to the sadness before parting.
After all, the legion has been fighting everywhere, and it does require a certain amount of luck to meet again.
"Don't die either."
Hades let out a long sigh as if in relief, "Don't worry, you won't die, you won't die."
"Hey, stop talking about this. Why do you feel so sad all of a sudden?"
Abaddon's voice livened up the atmosphere, and Hades smiled and immediately took over the topic, and the atmosphere instantly became cheerful again.
