My Life as A Death Guard

Chapter 283: 272 Record of a War

The sickle blade tore through the flesh, the flames licked the dry bones, and after the gunshot, only ashes remained.

Mortarion pulled the fuse of the grenade and threw it at the wizards who were hiding behind the heavy vehicle and trying to cast spells. Before they could even let out their dying howls, he grasped the chain at the end of the scythe of Annihilation and threw this huge and heavy weapon directly at the damned heavy vehicle.

After a teeth-grinding metallic tearing sound, the Lord of Death tore off the head of the vehicle. Through the huge wound, he could see the drivers whose flesh and blood had been torn off.

They were not dead yet, but fear and heavy bleeding had made them lose their fighting ability. They were groaning in pain, curled up and twitching on the narrow floor of the vehicle, trying to piece themselves together.

The greasy blood flowed all over the ground, mixed with the engine oil.

Mortarion's bright eyes did not blink as he continued to move forward decisively, leaving these tasks to the Death Guard behind him. The Great Element would be poured on these people and objects, and after being licked by the bright green flames, there would be nothing left here.

Bright green flames flickered on Mortarion's pale and dull armor. He sniffed the unique stench of psychics in the air, raised his hand and fired a shot. The Primarch's fully charged Psionic Lantern pistol was like a small cannon. A dazzling light exploded, and some human flesh splashed out from the collapsed buildings, emitting the smell of fat.

Mortarion marked these locations on the map for the troops behind him, while he continued to stride forward.

He moved forward, towards the target point. The further he went, the narrower his vision became. The originally crowded shanties were razed to the ground by the Death Guard and the enemy's own artillery fire. Thick smoke billowed, flames were everywhere, and charred corpses lay across the road like firewood sticks.

The area was too large, and was shrouded in thick smoke, through which Mortarion received signals from the other Death Guard in the drop pods that they had not found Hades - so the Lord of Death was heading in a direction they had not searched.

The closer we got to the central area, the thicker the smoke became, but the shanties here had almost been burned down. The source of the smoke was the heavy vehicles that had rushed in and the people inside the vehicles who had been smoked like bacon.

There was an ominous atmosphere here, but Mortarion knew he had come to the right place.

At the beginning, every two alleys, Mortarion would see a burning heavy vehicle, and the soldiers accompanying the team lay unconscious on the side of the tracks, their flesh burned to death or choked to death - but these were not fatal injuries, they had already died before that.

Further in, those heavy vehicles were like big trees in the forest in the morning mist, appearing one after another in the mist, seemingly endless.

Mortarion moved slowly and silently through the artificial woods, the flames like the morning sun, guiding him.

There are no enemies, and those that need to be shot have long become sticks on the roadside, which can be kicked away by the original body.

Most of the bodies were dead, caused by the flames and smoke, or being crushed by their companions, but some were still alive, empty shells with only faint physiological reactions left, and they coughed from time to time in the smoke.

Mortarion knew that without the soul, the remaining bodies in the world would soon perish, so there was no need for him to waste his bullets here.

He has more important things to do than these.

Mortarion fought his instincts and continued to move in the direction he least wanted to go.

Finally, he saw the person he was looking for.

A figure squatted silently under a vehicle, flames surrounding him, behind him were thousands of silent and exploded vehicle wreckages, in front of him lay a mortal, groaning something.

Mortarion recognized that it was the Soulless One that Hades brought with him on this mission.

Hades sensed Mortarion coming, but he did not look up. He seemed to be trying to stuff the Soulless's exposed lungs back into place, causing the Soulless to let out a terrible hissing sound.

The Soulless Man groaned and called out "Nina", staring at Hades with his dying eyes as if pleading, his face covered with sweat.

Finally, he uttered a weak "please".

"Bang!"

Only then did he turn to look at Mortarion, who was rarely seen without his helmet.

The flame burned quietly.

Mortarion kicked a corpse aside and strode over, motioning Hades to follow him to join the main force -

After confirming the terrain data, the Lord of Death chose to break out first.

"I didn't expect you to arrive so soon."

Hades said as he maneuvered the tattered mechas around the sea of scrapped vehicles he had created.

"I thought you would waste more time negotiating with Guilliman."

[Although he can't sense psychic energy, he can at least sense that I'm in a bad mood. ]

Mortarion said dryly.

Hades smiled.

"Then you'll have to explain to the commander of the Ultramarines what's going on when you get back. I thought you could at least give him some general knowledge first."

Mortarion responded vaguely, and then the intact communication equipment on Mortarion's armor, and the Death Guards who were searching for Hades in the thick fog gradually appeared. They walked back slowly, and from time to time there were gunshots or the sound of scythes. The Death Guards were cleaning up the living corpses.

Mortarion spoke suddenly, before he could even react.

What does "Nina" mean

"His sister."

Hades answered nonchalantly, and by the way, used a brand new communicator to command the 0th Company that had airdropped to key nodes. Fortunately, as long as they could avoid the suicide explosions of those psychics, the 0th Company would be more than enough to eliminate these wizards.

Where is she now

The curiosity of the Lord of Death obviously exceeded his usual behavior. Hades, who was walking in front, suddenly turned back and looked at him expressionlessly. Mortarion felt the oppression of the Black Domain.

Then the feeling faded away, and Hades stared at him and spoke slowly,

"I don't know. He was sent by Malcador. How would I know about his family's situation?"

Hades said as he casually shot a coughing corpse on the roadside in the head with his rifle.

“But I made a note of it.”

Hades spoke suddenly, staring straight into the sky.

Mortarion didn't have time to ask Hades what he had written down, because the blue Ultramarines shouting "Courage and Glory" came over. Compared to Mortarion's questions, Hades was more interested in the tactical questions of those blue guys.

Yay!

No today.
