Not For You to Bite

Chapter 6

When I returned to the classroom, the wind outside was louder than before. It seemed that a cold wave had hit. The wind was howling and scattered snowflakes were falling with crisp sounds. Chi Le looked up and found that hail was falling outside the window.

The two of them found a random place to sit down. Dark clouds were rolling in, blocking the faint remaining light from time to time, and the room was flickering.

Chi Le took out his cell phone and took a look. The cell phone signal was bad and he couldn't make a call. He guessed that Uncle Li's car was stuck in traffic and wouldn't be here for a while. He looked up and saw hail hitting the window continuously, and he rubbed his fingers subconsciously.

Sheng Zhuo looked up at him and found that he had been feeling a little uneasy since the hail started falling, and his face turned slightly pale.

Sheng Zhuo curled his lips, "Are you afraid of hail?"

Chi Le straightened his body and said, "Nonsense! I am not afraid of anything!"

Sheng Zhuo looked at his tense lips and said "oh" softly with a smile on his lips.

He found it a little unbelievable. Chi Le was fearless, not even afraid of thunder, so why would he be afraid of hail

After Chi Le finished his bluffing shout, he still stared at the layers of dark clouds outside. His chest felt stuffy, as if he was suffocating because of the pressure from the clouds.

The ice beads kept hitting the window, one after another. Chi Le shivered unconsciously, his face became paler and paler, and his eyes were vague. He lowered his eyes slightly, biting his lower lip nervously, looking a little pitiful.

Sheng Zhuo looked at his pale lips and frowned, "Are you really scared?"

Chi Le's eyelashes trembled stubbornly twice, but he said nothing.

Sheng Zhuo saw that his pale face was really pitiful, so he teased him deliberately, "If you make another sound, I will help you."

"… roll."

Chi Le's cheeks turned a little red, and he looked a little more energetic than before.

Sheng Zhuo raised the corner of his lips and extended his hand, "For the sake of milk, bear biscuits and lollipops, I'll lend you my hand."

Chi Le stared at the hand that Sheng Zhuo stretched out for a few seconds, and as the sound of hail gradually grew louder, he held it with his ears flushed.

He comforted himself in his heart that Sheng Zhuo must have reached out his hand because he was scared. He heard that Omegas are very timid, so for the sake of the future child, he would lend his hand to Sheng Zhuo temporarily.

He refused to admit that he was afraid.

Holding Sheng Zhuo's hand, Chi Le felt more at ease, his eyes no longer wavering. He was afraid that Sheng Zhuo would misunderstand him, so he tried to explain, "I'm not afraid of hail, it's just...some unhappy things happened to me before."

The more he spoke, the lower his voice became. Sheng Zhuo thought he could not continue his story and nodded nonchalantly. He only felt that Chi Le's fingertips were a little cold and he rubbed them unconsciously.

Chi Le subconsciously withdrew his hand as if he had been electrocuted. Sheng Zhuo was also stunned when he realized what he had done.

Just then the cell phone had a signal and Uncle Li called. Chi Le quickly stood up to answer the call.

Uncle Li couldn't get in touch with Chi Le and was as anxious as an ant on a hot pan. He was relieved to learn that Chi Le was safe in the classroom. He said that a tree was blown down nearby, blocking the way. He was stuck on the road and didn't know when he could get over.

Chi Le watched as the wind outside was getting stronger and stronger and the sky was completely dark. It was easy for something to happen in such weather and it was not safe to stay outside. He asked Uncle Li to go home quickly and he planned to stay in the classroom for one night.
