From then on, she could no longer feel any warmth and happiness. All that was left in her life was pain, struggle, and despair.
He used the child and began to force her to do things. He forced her to steal the Li family's secrets, he forced her to destroy the Li family's business, he forced her to seize the Li family's property, and he forced her to hurt her relatives.
She couldn't stop for a moment. He was like a knife hanging over her son's head. If she let go, if she stopped, the beast would push him into the abyss, would hurt him cruelly, and would kill him without mercy.
He locked him up in the basement. He made him live in that dark, damp, cruel and cold basement since he was born, as if that was not his biological son at all, but his enemy, or just an animal for him to vent his anger.
If she was obedient and completed the tasks he gave her, he would show mercy and allow her to see her son and spend time with him.
If she showed the slightest resistance or non-cooperation, he would cruelly experiment on his son with all kinds of torture instruments in front of her, leaving him bruised and dying.
He had someone build a cage and tied him to a dog. He made him live and eat in the cage like a dog. He didn't know how to speak or walk until he was three years old. He could only bark and crawl like a dog.
He was still so young, and for a moment, she even wanted to end his life with her own hands, which was better than him being bullied and living without dignity like this.
But he was still so young and so well-behaved. No matter how much pain he was in, whenever he saw her, he would rub her palm and smile at her.
He had been living in this small, dark and damp basement since he was born. He had never seen the sun or the beautiful side of the world. How could she bear to let him leave like this
Everyone in the Li family knew everything that the beast had done. They all knew about it, but they pretended not to see it. They all just watched coldly. They were watching a child being pushed into hell.
She had secretly contacted the Li family to express her dissatisfaction with the beast and wanted to resist him. She planned to rescue her son from him. She planned to expose his evil deeds, make him the target of public condemnation, and make him die a miserable death.
But those people all betrayed her, all of them betrayed him, they were all accomplices, and they all deserved to die!
Her plan was discovered, and he intensified her persecution. He would not touch her, but only her son, and let her watch from the side, gradually eroding her sanity and digging out her heart, making her fall into the endless abyss of pain, anger, and despair.
She didn't know when these days would end, she didn't know how long she could hold on, she just didn't want her son to fall into his hands, didn't want to see him lose even the most basic human dignity and rights.
She just wanted to take him to see the world. She wanted to tell him that this world not only has darkness, pain and cruelty, but also light and beauty.
Later, the brother found out about this from somewhere. He hid it from her and made an elaborate plan to save his son and her, but in the end, he was discovered by that beast.
She saw with her own eyes that beast holding a knife, smiling cruelly at her, and stabbing her brother in the heart right in front of her. She saw with her own eyes her brother falling in front of her covered in blood.
Many people from the fifth family were watching nearby. They were all looking at the scene in front of them, but no one stepped forward to stop it or say a word. They were even laughing, looking at her, looking at her dead brother, as if laughing at their own arrogance.
She didn't die, she couldn't die, and he didn't kill her. She knew that he wouldn't kill her until she had completely lost her usefulness.
She wanted to live. Even for the sake of her son and the Li family, she couldn't die. She wanted to live and watch this beast die a miserable death.
But she couldn't do anything now.
After he killed his brother, he took her and his son to the Li family to attend the funeral. In front of his brother's coffin, he poured two cups of poisoned wine, poisoning her parents to death.
He looked at her, smiling sarcastically, complacently, and with deep contempt. He was telling her not to try to resist him, because anyone who resisted him would die in his hands.
The Li family was originally small in number. Her brother died, her parents died, and she became the only heir of the Li family. He finally got the Li family, and he finally didn't need her anymore. She was finally going to die.
That day, he dragged her into the small dark room where his son was locked up.
He put the gun to her forehead in front of his son. He looked at his son and smiled, and looked at her smile, that crazy smile, on the face that she wanted to tear apart in her dreams.
She said nothing and didn't beg for mercy. The more she begged, the more excited this beast would become. How could she let him have his way
She looked at her son. She wanted to talk to him. She had many, many things to say to him and many, many things to tell him.
He was lying in the cage where he had lived since he was a child. His body was covered with scars, new and old.
There was blood on the cage and on the ground. Some of the blood was still fresh, while some of it had dried long ago. It was all his blood.
Sometimes she couldn't understand, how much blood could he have shed when he was so small? Why was his blood everywhere in this house
How she wanted to hug him again, kiss him again, and tell him that her mother was there.
But she had never fulfilled her responsibilities as a mother. She could not protect him and could only watch him suffer.
He was also looking at her, seemingly confused, as if thinking, wondering what that thing against her temple was, wondering why she didn't approach him.
At one moment, she saw a flash of deep hatred in her son's confused and ignorant eyes, and a bottomless coldness like hell was surging in his eyes.
He was looking at the beast in front of him, he hated the beast in front of him, she could read all his emotions, she knew it all, how much she wanted to tell him not to go against him until he could protect himself.
But she no longer had the chance. She would never be able to watch him grow up, and she would never be able to comfort him or hug him when he was in the most pain.
That day was the day before his fifth birthday. She didn't even have the chance to celebrate his birthday. She heard the sound of the devil pulling the trigger in her ear. When the gunshot rang out, her world turned completely gray and her life stopped on that day.
