Ye Jinwu strolled slowly in this secluded little Buddhist temple. Although the incense in the temple was fading, she would occasionally pass by three or five pilgrims.
The weather in May is not hot, but the air is filled with restlessness. The Bodhisattva trees in the Buddhist temple are big and have deep roots, casting heavy shades. The sandalwood incense used in worshipping Buddha all year round is lingering in the heart. The sounds of monks chanting scriptures and the wonderful sounds of Sanskrit make Ye Jinwu feel peaceful at this time.
Although the Buddhist temple is small, it has everything it needs and many Bodhisattvas are enshrined inside. Ye Jinwu had no other requests, so she just wanted to worship the Thousand-Armed Guanyin.
She walked slowly along the gray stone brick path of the Buddhist temple.
Suddenly, her eyes froze and she stared ahead.
The man was standing under a Bodhi tree not far away. The old tree was twisted and shady, and the shade was overhead. Although it was already May, he was still wearing a thick, knee-length windbreaker. The long windbreaker set off his figure, which was slender and tall, like a hill, with an extremely restrained demeanor.
She noticed that the man had taken off his hat, revealing his true face.
His eyebrows are long and slender like a cutting knife, his eyes are narrow and long, with a cold and intimidating light, his nose is like a hanging gall bladder, extremely strong, his lips are cold and thin, and as cold and sharp as a knife.
She had never seen such a handsome man, nor had she ever seen such a vicious man. She felt her heartbeat gradually getting out of control. She felt panic, uneasiness, fear, and some indescribable complex emotions.
Si Yuanzhen walked up to her and asked calmly, "Miss, where is the shrine of the Thousand-armed Guanyin?"
Ye Jinwu was a little panicked, but she tried to calm down and pointed him in the direction, "It's right in front!"
For some reason, she always felt that the man in front of her was not the kind of person who believed in Buddhism devoutly, nor the kind of person who knelt down to worship gods and Buddhas. This kind of person held a butcher knife in his hand and only believed in himself, so it seemed a bit inappropriate for him to take the initiative to ask about the Thousand-Armed Guanyin's shrine.
Si Yuanzhen's eyes flashed with a deep light: "It seems that this lady also wants to go to the Thousand-Handed Guanyin, why don't we go together?"
His sharp eyes looked at her inconspicuously.
She was wearing a thin lotus green long spring coat. The hem of the fabric was as soft as water, with layers of lotus leaves, fresh, delicate, soft and elegant. She paired it with white slim trousers, and her legs were straight and slender, with beautiful lines.
This is a woman with pure and clear beauty.
Especially those sharp eyes. When they look at you, your figure is reflected clearly in their eyes.
Ye Jinwu hesitated for a moment, then nodded gently: "Okay!"
Si Yuanzhen walked in front and Ye Jinwu followed behind him, always keeping a distance of one meter between them. The intention of alienation was very obvious. He deliberately slowed down his pace, and Ye Jinwu didn't want to overtake him, so she walked in front of him. The two of them kept this distance and walked slowly and quietly.
It was a distance of less than a minute, but it took them five minutes to walk.
The distance was short, yet it felt like it would take a lifetime to walk. It even gave them a sense of desolation, as if they were going to walk together until the end of time.
Ye Jinwu had never felt so nervous when approaching such a powerful, threatening and murderous man. She felt that every minute and every second was torture.
Just as she was considering whether to leave this man behind and walk to the front, she heard the man's slightly hoarse voice: "We're here!"
Ye Jinwu raised her head and saw the statue of Thousand-Armed Guanyin in the layers of space. It had a solemn and compassionate appearance.
Two people walked into the room one after the other.
Ye Jinwu secretly glanced at the man next to her. There was a murderous aura lingering around him, as if a layer of blood was floating in it. Being so close, she could even smell a faint fishy and sweet scent from him. That was the smell of blood.
As if noticing her gaze, Si Yuanzhen suddenly turned his head to look at her.
She was caught off guard by his sharp gaze, and she withdrew her gaze as if startled, calmed her inner panting, suppressed her restlessness, and slowly knelt down to worship.
After worshiping, she looked at the man beside her, looking at the Thousand-armed Guanyin statue with cold eyes and a look of disdain, without any reverence. She couldn't help but ask subconsciously: "Sir, you must have something in your heart when you come here. Aren't you going to worship?"
Si Yuanzhen's eyes fell on her face: "Si Yuanzhen!"
Ye Jinwu was stunned and couldn't react.
Si Yuanzhen, is this his name
Si Yuanzhen added: "Zhen is the beginning of Yuan, and what goes must return, which means the cycle of heaven and human affairs, which flows endlessly."
Ye Jinwu finally reacted. For some reason, she couldn't help feeling a sense of confusion in her heart. She and this Si Yuanzhen were just casual acquaintances, so how could he tell her his name
Si Yuanzhen continued, "I don't ask for anything in my heart, so I won't bow. I wonder what the young lady is asking for?"
Ye Jinwu looked at his calm and noble expression and knew that he did not seek anything, but did not believe in Buddhism: "I just want peace of mind!"
She thought this man was very strange. He clearly did not believe in Buddhism, but he chose to go deep into the Buddhist temple. He clearly held a butcher knife in his hand, but in front of the Bodhisattva, he was more noble than the Bodhisattva.
Si Yuanzhen laughed, "I heard that there is a great monk in charge of Lingji Temple. The clay Buddha statues in the temple are different from those in other places. The Buddha statues have different duties. If you want a successful career, you can pray to Manjusri Bodhisattva; if you want to be rich and powerful, you can worship Galan Bodhisattva; if you want to be healthy and have all your karma eliminated, you can pray to Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva. There are also some greedy people who want everything, so they go to Baozhan to worship the Buddha. Miss, you only want peace of mind, which is interesting."
As he spoke, his pair of peach blossom eyes sparkled with rosy light, focused and passionate.
A man with a pair of peach blossom eyes always gives people a feeling of being romantic, amorous, frivolous and dissolute. However, Si Yuanzhen's peach blossom eyes, at the end of their brilliance, contain endless dullness, and at the end of their beauty, hide an unfathomable depth, dangerous and cold.
Si Yuanzhen suddenly smiled and said, "I think what you are looking for is not peace of mind, but marriage!"
Ye Jinwu's face turned slightly red. She was a little annoyed by the man's frivolous words, but she didn't know how to refute. The Thousand-Armed Guanyin can not only pray for children but also for love and marriage.
Si Yuanzhen approached her suddenly, gently grasped her jaw, and kissed her lips: "Miss, whatever you ask for will be fulfilled." After that, he gently took out the jade-carved jasmine hairpin from her hair and put a slightly rough wooden hairpin into her hair: "I accept the token of love. I have nothing now, so I will give you this Bodhisattva branch hairpin."
This wooden hairpin was made from a branch of the Bodhisattva tree that he had just broken off. It was simply pointed and rounded, without even a simple pattern. It was as ordinary as it could be.
Ye Jinwu was startled by the man's sudden approach. She had never had such close contact with a man in her life. She was even more panicked by the series of events that followed and didn't know how to deal with it. When she came to her senses, the man was nowhere to be seen.
