Red Strings

Chapter 4

When the boy woke up, he found a rabbit lying beside the bed with pure white fur, like a snow ball.

He sat up and looked at the white rabbit with surprise and joy: "It's you! I caught you last night, right?"

White Rabbit looked at him, his red eyes were bright, like rubies from overseas.

The more he looked at it, the more he liked it, and he reached out and picked up the white rabbit. White Rabbit didn't struggle, was held in his arms by him, and only moved his two ears.

"It's so good, it's much better than Ah Huang!" The boy smiled.

Under the bed, the puppy gave him a sidelong glance, then turned his head in dissatisfaction and went back to sleep.

Another strange thing happened in the villa of the King of Guangling in the suburbs of Beijing. A white rabbit appeared in the small building where the King lived for no reason. The King liked it so much that he took it with him wherever he went. Not only that, that white rabbit is delicious, and can eat a whole carload of radishes every day.

"Does the king of the county love to attract animals?" The inner servants who knew it said, "The same is true for the yellow dog last time. It appeared beside the king of the county without making a sound, and I don't know where it came from."

"The county king has no brothers and sisters, it's so lonely."

"When are you going back to Heaven?" Dun Yi said dissatisfiedly looking at Ah Chan, who was squatting on the ground and nibbling on radishes.

"I can't go back for the time being." Chan chewed on the radish, her cheeks bulging, "I haven't untied the red rope yet."

Dun Yi snorted coldly, "Then we have to wait until the Year of the Monkey and the Horse Moon?"

Chan is unconvinced.

"I said why are you so greedy," Dun Yi continued to hum and chirp, "You're already immortal."

"Oh, my original name was Achan," Achan replied, "but the elder said that the name was not suitable for immortals, so he changed it to Achan."

Dunyi: "…"

Back to what heaven. A Chan said in her heart that even if the red rope was untied, she didn't want to go back to heaven. How good it is here, how many radishes you want, this is the jade rabbit treatment she has always dreamed of, and Chan is simply overjoyed.

The King of Guangling County kept the white rabbit for a few days, and he liked it more and more. It was cold at night, so he simply slept with the white rabbit.

To be honest, Achan is very shy.

Because of her determination to cultivate immortality, she was born with a pure rabbit. For thousands of years since her birth, the male rabbit's small claws have never been held.

Under Dun Yi's contemptuous eyes, she was held in his arms by the Prince of Guangling and covered with a quilt. When the lights went out at night, she was lying on the chest of the King of Guangling, feeling warm. Looking up, the boy's face was quiet and delicate, with long and neat eyelashes, like feathers.

There was a thumping sound in her chest, and Chan could hear two heartbeats. The older one is the King of Guangling County, and the younger one is her.

The sound was like a lullaby, and Chan slowly closed her eyes.

Before falling asleep, she thought, it would be nice to have someone hug and sleep...

The mist is shrouded in mist, and the illusion is like a dream.

Chan opened her eyes and found herself standing in an unfamiliar place. Surrounded by snow-covered mountains, trees and stones are like old white-headed men, only one spring flows through, gurgling and clear.

Achan sighed, in vain, but she didn't feel cold. Looking down, she was wearing clothes with wide sleeves and long skirts, and she was actually a humanoid.

A flute was scattered along with the wind, and A Chan followed it, leaving small footprints on the white snow.

The red plum is blooming, the petals are frozen in the ice, crystal clear and bright. A young man in white sat on a big stone, bowed his head slightly, and played a jade flute attentively.

The flute sound is pleasant and long, like water and wind, lingering endlessly.

A Chan was stunned, the young man was none other than the Prince of Guangling.

Seemingly aware of the movement, the young man also looked up, and the flute stopped abruptly.

Achan looked at him and said in surprise, "King of Guangling County?"

The boy put down the jade flute.

"King of Guangling County?" He shook his head with a smile, his voice was as calm as spring water, "My name is Ling Xiao."

Ling Xiao? Achan blinked ignorantly, and for a moment, said, "My name is Achan."

"What are you doing?" Chan looked around, only to feel that it was desolate and lonely.

"Playing the flute." Ling Xiao replied, raising the jade flute in his hand, "Does it sound good?"

Chan nodded: "It sounds good."

Ling Xiao smiled: "Then can you sit down and accompany me? I have been playing the flute here for a long time, and I have never seen anyone."

"Okay." Chan nodded.

The two sat on the boulder side by side, Ling Xiao played the jade flute again, and when Achan listened to it, she felt that the sound of the flute was so beautiful that she was fascinated.

"Why do you play the flute?" Chan asked after the song was over.

"If I play the flute, these flowers will bloom." Ling Xiao said, pointing to a peach tree beside him.

When Anchan looked, the peach branch had already produced several buds, which were pink.

"When spring comes, they will open." Chan said.

Ling Xiao's handsome brows filled with depression, "But spring has yet to come, I have to call it."

Seeing that he was melancholy, Achan couldn't bear it, and said, "I also have this ability of yours."

"Oh?" Ling Xiao looked at her with clear eyes, "You will?"

Chan nodded, took out a small seedling from her sleeve, pulled the snow seed into the soil, and muttered something in her mouth. A cloud of clear light overflowed from her fingers and fell on Xiaomiao.

The leaves of the young seedlings slowly grew taller, and it didn't take long for them to reach half their waists.

Ah Chan smiled at Ling Xiao and pulled up the entire clump of leaves. Underneath, a fat white radish was pulled out with soil.

"Ah!" Ling Xiao also laughed.

"Give it to you." Chan held the radish to him with a shy face, "Unfortunately, I can only grow radishes."

Ling Xiao shook his head, took the radish with a smile, and said in a harmonious voice, "It's good, it's the first time someone gave me a radish, thank you."

A Chan smiled, a faint blush on her pink face...

The fog disappeared, plum trees, peach trees, Liushui, and Ling Xiao all disappeared outside the darkness. Chan woke up and found that she had had a dream.

She was lying on the chest of the King of Guangling, her two heartbeats still overlapping. The morning light was faintly shining through the window, and the sleeping face of the King of Guangling County was still quiet.

Ah Chan told Dun Yi about the dream, and as expected, he was quite surprised.

"Your mana is sealed, can you still dream?"

"It's not the technique of entering a dream," Chan thought for a while, and said, "The elder said, it's called escaping dreams, and it's a natural ability."

"Innate ability?" Dun Yi wondered: "Isn't your rabbit clan's innate ability to eat radishes?"

Achan scratched her head: "I don't know either. He said that only rabbits know how to do this. Among the thousands of rabbits, there is only one rabbit. It just happened..."

"Okay, okay." Dun Yi interrupted her nonsense and said, "If that's the case, it's a good thing. Lord Ling Xiao's soul is sleeping, if you can help him wake up, that would be great." He excitedly patted Achan on the shoulder, "That's great! If the Queen Mother knew..."

Halfway through his words, he suddenly found that the two servants in the corridor were staring at this place dumbfounded.

Dunyi: "…"

Achan: "..."

When they tried their best to play the puppy and the rabbit, the two servants finally walked away.

"Am I blinded? Why do I feel like the dog and the rabbit are talking?"

"Yes, the dog also patted the rabbit."

"Is it trained by the prince?"

"The king is really powerful..."
