"Reignite" has been completed. Looking back on the journey since I started writing the book, although there were pains in writing, my heart is warm overall. Like you, I am also growing by describing this story and experiencing the past with the people and events in the story. I am also examining and improving myself and my writing. This journey is wonderful, and it is one of the reasons why I persisted to the end.
The ending at this time is actually just right, so much so that many people are talking about the problem of filling in the gaps. In my opinion, it is not a matter of gaps, but more of leaving blank space. Everyone does not need to be given an ending decided by me. They should be like the people around us, and there should be infinite room for expansion.
The story in the book has ended, but in the broader time and space created by the book, their story is still going on. As for what comes after that, let it live in your hearts, and you create it yourself, leaving a lingering aftertaste.
As we all know, due to the writing environment, there are some limitations in the city. Therefore, for safety reasons, some plots are simply hidden or even cut off, leaving only the main threads that cannot be avoided, such as the plots of Xie Houming and Cheng Bin mentioned at the beginning of the book. There are also some things that cannot be expanded. Generally speaking, such restrictions are indeed a bit restrictive, but they make the book appear much clearer and cleaner, which can be regarded as a blessing in disguise.
I would like to respond to another question that people always compare with Mahaprajnaparamita. People may think it is Mahaprajnaparamita, but in fact, it is fundamentally different. The emotions of Mahaprajnaparamita and the emotions of Rekindling are completely different. Anyone who is truly familiar with the two books will know this.
The overall atmosphere of Nirvana is based on regret, depicting the feeling of lack, the feeling of wanting but not getting, and focusing on the sense of the times. But in the current rekindling, the emotion of making up for the regret is actually less, and the sense of the times is deliberately downplayed. More often, it is from the perspective of an observer, like a friend, wanting to tell you about the past scenes in the course of life.
Now when I look back at Mahaparinirvana, I feel that I can never write a book that can rekindle such emotions as Mahaparinirvana. Similarly, at that time, I could not write a book that could rekindle such emotions.
It is unfair to compare the two books. I would rather regard the two books as complementary. What Reignited lacks, Great Nirvana has, and what Great Nirvana lacks, Reignited makes up for.
In the past, emotions were the basis for me to enter a book, but in the process of writing Rekindling, in addition to emotions, I began to focus on the writing of the "theme". I also gained some experience, so the next book should combine the writing methods of "theme" and "emotion", hoping to bring you a better story.
Finally, it’s time to say goodbye for now.
Thank you for your company since I started writing. I really appreciate it. Sometimes when I update slowly and have no inspiration, I get anxious, thinking that even if I were a reader, I would not read your book. But every time I think about it, the real way to be responsible to the readers is to hand in a satisfactory answer to the work at hand, which should be the greatest respect. Writing a good story is the way for an author to truly give back to the readers. This idea has also become a placebo for me when I am anxious about not being able to finish a chapter.
But fortunately, the people who read my books have high taste (I’m flattering you!), and mainly have high spiritual pursuits and realms, and you can tell at a glance that they are not ordinary people. Fortunately, it is your tolerance that allows me to make it to the end.
Thank you to my friends who voted, subscribed, and rewarded me. You are the biggest cornerstone of my creation. It is your support that gave me the motivation to complete this book. You are great contributors.
I would like to thank my friends who gave me suggestions and help on this book, and my comrades-in-arms who had exchanges of ideas with me.
I already have some ideas for the subsequent new book. I will make an outline and then announce it later. It will probably take less than a month.
By the way, there is also the WeChat public account. I haven’t updated it for a long time, mainly because I had no materials. This time I have some materials. I will post some anecdotes about the rekindled writing, such as reference materials, and I will post them when the time comes. Those who are interested can take a look.
Well, that’s it for now.
This book is finished, and I am filled with joy and gratitude to you.
I hope the next book will be another strange and enjoyable journey.
Everyone, take care of yourself and stay healthy and happy.
Because we will experience more beauty together.
