Dengdengdeng...

When Zhu Ping'an and others were heading to Taicang, a series of hurried footsteps were heard in Tingyuxuan of Linhuai Marquis Mansion.

"Miss... I'm so angry..."

A pretty girl with baby fat on her face, with a puffy face, holding up the hem of her skirt, pouting her lips, and drawing out the words, trotted into Tingyu Pavilion.

The girl's face turned red with anger, and her lips were pouted so much that a bottle of oil could be hung on them. The two buns on her head swayed up and down like butterfly wings with her footsteps, and the pink tassels around her waist also fluttered with her.

The girl rushed into the house like a gust of wind.

Inside the room, a stunning young girl with bright eyes and white teeth was sitting upright at a desk, holding a wolf-hair plum blossom brush in her snow-white jade hand. She was meticulously copying the Diamond Sutra. The scriptures written on the rice paper were neatly written, and exuded a sense of elegance and spirituality, as if infused with a trace of spiritual energy.

The beautiful girl was copying the scriptures while silently chanting: This blessing has gained all wisdom and defeated all enemies of faults and sufferings. I want to dedicate the merits of copying the scriptures to Brother Zhu, and wish him a smooth inspection of Taicang, peace and safety, and everything will be fine...

The Diamond Sutra is a famous Buddhist classic. Its full name is the Diamond Sutra. The main purpose of the sutra is to use the indestructible wisdom like diamond to break through all troubles and karma in life and achieve eternal happiness.

This scripture is mostly used to pray for blessings and ensure peace.

This was very important in ancient times, especially for the hostesses of the harem. They copied scriptures to pray for blessings and safety. Similar plots are often seen in TV dramas. For example, when the empress dowager in the palace celebrates her birthday, many concubines or princesses will copy and embroider scriptures to pray for the empress dowager as a birthday gift, and they will often receive praise from the empress dowager.

The chubby girl ran in like a gust of wind, yelling angrily, "The young lady is so annoying", which immediately broke the beautiful girl's ethereal mood of copying scriptures.

"What do you mean dead or alive? What are you talking about! But my skin is itchy again." The stunning girl raised her pretty face, gave the chubby girl a hard look, and scolded her in a bad mood.

"I'm sorry, miss, but, but they really went too far. Hua'er is so angry." The chubby girl stuck out her pink tongue, realizing her mistake, and then puffed up her little face, looking very angry.

The chubby girl is none other than the chubby little maid Huaer, and the stunning girl is naturally Li Shu.

"Tell me, what's wrong?" Li Shu put down the brush in her hand, rubbed her arm which was sore from copying scriptures, and asked while looking at the painting.

"It's all about Baiyun Temple." The chubby little maid Huaer pouted her lips angrily, as if she was extremely angry when the name of Baiyun Temple was mentioned.

"How did Baiyun Temple offend you? During the ceremony yesterday, didn't you say that Baiyun Temple was very popular and prayers were most effective?" Li Shu glanced at the chubby little maid and stretched out her slender hand to rub her forehead.

Yesterday was the day of the enlightenment of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva. Several famous temples in the capital competed to hold general Buddhist ceremonies. Baiyun Temple was no exception and also held a general Buddhist ceremony on the same day. It also specially invited the famous monk Manjusri in the capital to give lectures on the spot. There was also a temple fair, which immediately attracted many people to participate and became a grand event.

Baiyun Temple is located in Xicheng District, not far from Linhuai Marquis Mansion, and is very popular. The ladies of Linhuai Marquis Mansion often go to Baiyun Temple for prayers. The ladies of noble families are generous, and Linhuai Marquis Mansion is no exception. It has been a distinguished guest of Baiyun Temple for a long time, along with the nearby Duke of Wei Mansion, Duke of Kaiguo Mansion, Linhuai Marquis Mansion, Dingyuan Marquis Mansion, and Lingbi Marquis Mansion. Baiyun Temple also reciprocates. Every time these noble families go to Baiyun Temple to worship Buddha and pray for blessings, Baiyun Temple will specially isolate an area of the temple for these noble families, not allowing outsiders to enter, so that they can concentrate on worshiping Buddha and avoid being disturbed by outsiders.

Several days ago, Baiyun Temple informed the steward of Linhuai Marquis Mansion of the news that they were going to hold a general Buddhist ceremony, and the steward immediately passed the news to the backyard.

Naturally, this kind of ceremony could not be missed. When the old lady of Linhuai Marquis's Mansion mentioned it, the lady of Linhuai Marquis's Mansion organized the concubines and young ladies in the mansion to donate one hundred taels of silver as incense money to Baiyun Temple in the name of Linhuai Marquis's Mansion. They also offered a perpetual lamp in the temple and asked for a jade bottle of raw water, praying that the compassionate Guanyin Bodhisattva would allow everyone in Linhuai Marquis's Mansion to have peace and safety throughout their lives, and to avoid disasters and prolong their lives.

Li Shu also gave her aunt a share of twenty taels of silver. Besides that, Li Shu also privately contributed fifty taels of silver to offer a perpetual lamp.

There is a benefit of asking for an ever-burning lamp in Baiyun Temple. All families who have asked for an ever-burning lamp can offer hand-copied Buddhist scriptures under their own ever-burning lamps and pray for themselves or their families. The monks of Baiyun Temple will chant scriptures in front of the ever-burning lamps regularly to bless and consecrate them.

The Buddhist scriptures copied by Li Shu were intended to be offered under the eternal lamp for praying for blessings. It is best to offer newly copied Buddhist scriptures.

In the morning, Li Shu asked Mama Liu and the maid Baozi to go to Baiyun Temple to check the location of the eternal lamp. After copying the Buddhist scriptures at noon, she asked Mama Liu to offer the scriptures under the eternal lamp.

"I was blind and believed them in vain." The chubby little maid pouted and harbored deep resentment towards Baiyun Temple.

"What's the matter? Is there no eternal lamp in Baiyun Temple?" Li Shu's pretty face turned cold.

"That's not the case." The chubby little maid shook her head.

Li Shu's expression relaxed, and she rolled her eyes at the little maid again, saying angrily, "What on earth is this? If you keep talking halfway, I'll show you how I'll deal with you."

"Miss, you don't know, today I went to Baiyun Temple with Mother Liu, and those stinky bald guys actually put up a big sign at the entrance of the temple, and it said, it said..." The little maid Baozi pouted her lips and her face turned red with anger. When she talked about the big sign at the entrance of the temple, she was so angry that she waved her fists twice. When she talked about what was written on the sign, she hesitated again, glanced at Li Shu, and stammered.

"Speak." Li Shu glared at the chubby little maid with her watery eyes.

"Those stinky bald donkeys put up a sign at the temple gate that said 'Zhu Ping'an and dogs are not allowed to enter.'" When the chubby little maid said this, she gritted her teeth and clenched her little pink fists tightly.

In the morning, the little maid Baozi and Mama Liu went to Baiyun Temple. At first, they didn't notice the sign. When they were about to enter, they saw a lot of people gathered at the door and talking. The little maid Baozi heard the three words "Zhu Ping'an" with her sharp ears, so she went to take a look with interest.

As soon as she saw the content on the sign, Baozi's maid became so angry that her face turned blue, and she wished she could tear down the dilapidated Baiyun Temple on the spot.
