Shinji Matou At Your Service

Chapter 156: The final gift

"Master!"

Feeling the master-servant contract broken, Shinji's eyes were bared and he ran to Scathach like crazy.

Justisa also arrived with him.

"Shinji, use the Command Seal immediately. Maybe you can still make it in time."

"In the name of the Command Seal—"

Before the order was given, Scathach had already covered Shinji's mouth with her free right hand.

"No need. My soul core has been shattered. Even the Command Spells cannot restore it."

Shinji's eyes suddenly turned red.

"Why? Why didn't you dodge? Others couldn't dodge Saber's sword, but you definitely could."

"Why do you say that?" Scathach smiled and stretched out her hand to push Saber away.

"I know that 'Wisdom of the Demon Realm' can obtain 'Reset Stance', which allows you to leave the battlefield immediately. As long as you use this skill, Saber's self-sacrificing charge will not hurt you at all, and she will not be able to withstand your next attack after exhausting all her magic power. Victory should belong to you!"

Shinji's hysterical roar was like a bucket of cold water, extinguishing the joy of victory in Saber's heart. She stared at Scathach in a daze and asked.

"Is this true?"

"I guess so. The longer you live, the more skills you will master." Scathach nodded helplessly. "My spiritual base did not collapse like other servants, thanks to the skill 'Battle Continuation'."

"Why?" Saber asked the same question as Shinji.

"Do you remember my wish? I long for death. Since the Holy Grail cannot kill me, at least let me experience the feeling of being killed as a Servant."

Unlike anyone else, Scathach was looking forward to her impending death. She reached out and touched the head of Shinji, who was pouting and looking angry.

"My little Master, I know exactly what you are planning. If I were the winner, you would use the Command Seal to order me to re-sign the contract before I disappear."

"I, I just—I don't want to be separated from you."

Scathach bent down and hugged the disciple who showed a weak expression.

"Ah, I know, I know. That's why I have to leave you. Otherwise, you won't be able to truly grow up."

"Master...will I ever see you again?"

"Of course, we will meet again. Didn't you say you would end my eternity? I'll be waiting for you in the Land of Shadows."

"That may take decades or even longer." Shinji buried his head in Scathach's shoulder to prevent her from seeing him cry.

"It doesn't matter, it's just a few decades. I have lived for many decades." Scathach patted her disciple's back gently. Perhaps it was at the time of parting that she showed her rare tenderness.

"If there is another Holy Grail War, will you respond to my call?"

"That depends on your performance." Scathach smiled slightly, "If you don't grow enough, I won't respond to your call - you have to at least hold out under my gun for ten minutes."

Shinji's body suddenly stiffened, his tears stopped but his expression became even uglier.

"Master, isn't this request too high? Can you give me a discount?"

"No need to discuss. You've got all sorts of treasures and you ate that thing. Ten minutes is already a low requirement."

To be honest, this request is not too high, but Shinji also has his own concerns.

"Without your guidance, I really don't have much confidence if I rely on my own exploration. The 'Son of Light' also went through Fergus' careful training and studied in the Kingdom of Shadows for a year and a month before he gained his later fame."

"You don't need to worry about that. I've already arranged it."

Shinji was confused by the words in his ear.

"What's the meaning?"

"You'll find out soon enough."

Scathach let go of Shinji, a faint smile flashed across her lips, and she looked up at the "hole" in the sky that was constantly oozing black mud.

"Justisa, after a Servant dies, the spirit that resides in the present world will become the fuel for the Holy Grail, right?"

"Yes." Although Justissa didn't know Scathach's intention, she still gave a positive answer.

"It's not a good place, so I won't go in."

Scathach's body began to collapse from the ground. Unlike other servants, it did not turn into spirit particles and drift away in the wind. Instead, it gathered into four magic crystals of different sizes and colors.

The moment the body completely disappeared, the magic crystals scattered. Two of them penetrated into the bodies of Shinji and Justisia, and the other two flew over the wall of Ryudo Temple and down the mountain.

"Instead of being fuel for that thing, be fuel for you - accept this, this is my final guidance."

The final voice, along with the magic crystal, was delivered to those who wished to hear it, including beloved disciples and close friends.

This is Scathach's final gift, the true "wisdom of magic".

Acquiring skills and imparting skills are merely degraded versions that are limited by the container of the Servant. Passing on knowledge, experience, insights, and other things that can be called "wisdom" is the true nature of this skill.

At the end of her career as a Servant, just before she was devoured by the Holy Grail, she transformed her spiritual foundation, spiritual energy, and everything else that was left in her body into "wisdom", which she passed on to the four people who were closest to her and nearby.

This is something that only Scathach can do. This is a great feat that only the Queen of the Demon Realm, who is neither living nor dead nor a heroic spirit, can accomplish.

It contains Scathach's heartfelt hopes and expectations, enough to benefit everyone who accepts the inheritance for a lifetime.

When all the crystals of inheritance were in place, Scathach lost her vision of the real world and woke up from the dream of the other side.

What I see before my eyes is still a monotonous landscape made up of a mixture of only three colors: black, white and gray. Both the sky and the earth are dim. Between heaven and earth, endless shadows stretch into the distance.

This is the Land of Shadows, the country ruled by Scathach.

"Am I back?"

The only color in the kingdom stood up from the throne, and the shadows rolled back to the surroundings, as if in fear of the eternal queen.

The queen's gaze did not linger on the shadow, but was cast towards the endless sky, towards the world beyond, and towards the place where she had a cause and effect relationship.

She saw Sakura and Kariya crying over her disappearance.

She saw that Justisa understood what sadness was.

She saw that the disciple who had the highest hopes wiped away his tears, clenched his fists tightly, and a unique temperament was brewing in his body.

Get rid of your impetuousness and become more steady.

Fading away from youthfulness and moving towards maturity.

Just like the Death Fang of Curruid, the beast of waves, it finally had the prototype of a gun.

"I am waiting for you to become the real Spear of Death, piercing through this eternal body!"

PS: The prototypes of the two dog guns, the Dog Gun and the Master's Dog Gun, were made of Curruid. The appearance of this tragic child can be seen in "Fategrandorder", and a three-star costume of a certain Beast of Waves is one of them.

PS2: I seriously suspect that Curruid has been exterminated by the master in order to manufacture weapons.
