Shrouded Seascape

Chapter 121: Feuerbach

"Crack, crack." The sound of the blade rubbing against the barnacle shell was very harsh, but Feuerbach didn't care at all. Instead, he scraped harder and harder.

"Captain Charles, do you want to try it? It's really exciting."

Feuerbach handed the bloody turtle in his hand to Charles next to him.

"No need. What's the matter with you coming here?" Charles put the revolver in his hand back into the holster. He had seen this guy at the dock. He was indeed one of the captains hired by Kede.

"Oh, that's what happened. The person from the Church of Light told us that this mission is to find the legendary land of light."

"What's wrong? Do you suspect he's lying to you?"

"Haha, actually, there is no need for him to deceive others like this. Since we have accepted the reward, we will complete the task no matter how dangerous it is. You might as well tell us what our mission is this time."

Charles felt a little aggrieved for Cod. He told the truth, but no one believed him.

"Is this what the other captains mean as well?"

"They didn't say it, but I can see that they all have concerns in this regard. Since they are unwilling to ask, I will step forward and ask for everyone."

"Why come if you have concerns?"

"Of course, this is because that guy gave me too much money. After completing this mission, I even had several more years of rest." Feuerbach answered seriously.

"Our mission this time is to explore two islands. One of them may be the base of the Sodom pirates. It may be dangerous, but don't worry, we are not going to occupy it. We just need to get enough supplies from it and then go to the other island. As long as we reach that island, your mission will be completed."

Feuerbach nodded in understanding. "I see. Now I understand what you said. If we really follow the employer's words, we really have no idea what will happen."

As Feuerbach spoke, he threw the cleaned turtle into the sea. He swung the dagger in his hand a few times, then put it away and looked at Charles with a hint of curiosity.

"Mr. Charles, I heard that you know Governor Elizabeth. Can you introduce me to her? The guys on my ship are all very capable. They will have no problem participating in the mission of capturing the island."

Charles looked at the guy in front of him in confusion. Why did he feel that the previous question was just a cover-up and this question was his real purpose

"Elizabeth has left, and if I'm not mistaken, her island has been occupied by now."

Hearing this, Feuerbach immediately sighed and squatted on the deck, "If I had known earlier, I would have come here earlier. It turns out that there are more opportunities on the marginal islands."

Charles looked at his ears and found that they were not curled inward, "Aren't you an explorer of the coral island?"

"Yes, I was originally an explorer of the Law Ring Island, but that island is too old. All the nearby islands that can be explored have been explored, and the remaining islands are of very high levels. Going to those islands to look for living islands is completely suicide, so I came to the coral island at the edge of the North Sea to try my luck."

Feuerbach seemed very talkative and he told Charles everything even though he didn't ask.

"If there is no island to explore, just go back to live on the island. It's not a good thing. Why do you have to be so focused on exploring the island?" Charles persuaded, leaning his elbows on the edge of the boat and looking at the darkness in the distance.

Feuerbach chuckled at Charles, "Then why did Charles become an exploration ship?"

Seeing that Charles did not answer, Feuerbach spoke up himself: "My dream is the same as yours. I dream of becoming the governor of an entire island one day. Why can others do it but I can't? I will definitely succeed. I will let those who look down on me see clearly that I, Claude Feuerbach, will definitely become a superior person!"

At the end, Feuerbach clenched his fist and spoke in a very determined tone.

Seeing him like this, Charles asked, "How many islands have you explored?"

When asked this question, Feuerbach showed a hint of embarrassment on his face. "I have only explored one."

Feeling that the atmosphere was a little awkward, Feuerbach immediately changed the subject.

"Mr. Charles, this is the first time I've met you, but I've heard about you in the Explorers Association. They all said you were a crazy guy, but you don't look like that."

"What did they say about me? Don't want to live? Do I have to cherish my life to become an explorer?"

"No, they said that your recklessness is different from theirs. It feels like you are deliberately going to die. They have never seen an explorer who is so desperate. By the way, Mr. Charles, there are rumors that you gave Governor Elizabeth the island? Is it true?"

Charles frowned and glanced at the guy next to him. What was his purpose in always bringing things up with Elizabeth

Charles really didn't have any good feelings towards guys with impure motives. After saying a few perfunctory words, Charles turned and walked towards the cabin.

With a smile on his face, Feuerbach scratched his dark green hair with his hand, stood on the empty deck and thought for a while, raised his arm and waved to Krona who was steering the ship in the cockpit, then turned around and jumped into the sea.

As time passed, the fleet slowly entered unexplored waters.

Compared to the usual dozen or so people, this time the crowd was much larger. With so many people, the oppressive fear on the sea was dissipated a lot, and even some new crew members on the ship did not feel the slightest bit of fear.

But the sea is always ruthless, and soon the slightest change in the sea water made the crew members who were just chatting and laughing immediately nervous.

The sea water began to flow in a regular pattern in a certain direction, as if something under the ocean was dragging them forward.

"Notify other ships and ask them to follow the Narwhal and leave this area quickly. There is something wrong with the sea." Charles, who was at the helm, said to the boatswain next to him.

Rhythmic whistles sounded, and soon all the ships began to speed up following the Narwhal.

Things did not develop into a worse situation, and they escaped from the sea area as they wished, as if what had just happened was not dangerous at all.

After Charles carefully identified the nautical chart, he began to turn the steering wheel, intending to make a detour as much as possible to avoid unnecessary trouble.

As he was circling around, he saw something on the water surface approaching him with his excellent eyesight. Is that... a fish fin?"
