Chapter 127: Tuba

There was a commotion, and a group of tall and strong pirates wearing black and white striped short-sleeved shirts came out, dragging Richie, who was covered in blood.

Charles, with a grim expression, hammered hard on the rock wall, and his men were discovered.

"What should we do? Should we go and rescue him?" Feuerbach asked Charles.

Before Charles could make a decision, the corpse-like Richie suddenly raised his head and roared hysterically to the sky. "Run! This is a trap! They found us!!"

The moment he heard his voice, Charles' whole body tensed up, his eyes quickly opened and scanned the crowd around him independently.

"There are two on the left, what about your side?" Richard's voice sounded quickly.

"Run!" Charles exerted force with his feet, rushed out of the crowd and rushed behind him. The two people behind him who reacted quickly followed.

"Bang bang bang!" The sound of gunfire continued to ring out.

Accompanied by bullets, Charles and others retreated quickly.

"Dang!" A bullet hit Charles' prosthetic limb, and a few sparks popped out.

Charles turned around quickly, flipped his left hand, and fired the revolver at the pirates continuously.

Charles's accuracy was amazing, blood spurted out from their foreheads, and the pirates' attacks stopped instantly.

However, this did not solve the problem. Charles' actions made other pirates on the street react.

They were not frightened by the attack. All of them had ferocious expressions on their faces and took out various weapons hanging on their waists, cursing and starting to attack. The situation of Charles and others became more and more miserable.

"Crack, crack, crack." Charles's anchor hook passed through the roof next to him and got stuck on a rock wall of the mountain city above. "Hold me!"

He quickly retracted the anchor hook and dragged everyone forward quickly.

Arriving at a narrow street in the mountain city, Charles, ignoring the surprised expressions of the people around him, quickly rushed towards the narrow alleys with the two of them, trying to escape the pirates' pursuit.

However, for some unknown reason, the pirates seemed to be tracking him and stuck to him quickly, and no matter how hard Charles tried to shake them off, he couldn't.

There are more and more people following behind them, including some very powerful ones.

"Crack." Several rock spikes with barbs suddenly protruded from the rocks next to them and shot directly towards them.

Charles' body seemed to have no bones and he quickly dodged the long thorns.

But Lanis on the side was not so lucky. The sharp stone spike instantly pierced her sexy body. Her charming eyes were full of disbelief before she died.

"Damn it!" Charles' face turned very ugly. At this moment, he didn't care about feeling sad for the death of his companion and rushed forward quickly.

But soon, pirates with weapons in hand and looking at them eagerly appeared in the alley ahead.

They were surrounded! At this moment, a dirty old man suddenly rushed out from a small stone house next to them. "Feuerbach! Come in quickly!!"

Seeing him calling out the green-haired young man's name familiarly, Charles didn't think too much and quickly followed in.

It was a room that was almost a garbage dump, with all kinds of dirty and greasy debris spread out layer upon layer on the floor.

Charles thought there might be an escape route inside that could help him avoid being hunted down, but the old man simply took out a few yellowed paper crosses of the same length and handed them to him with his hands that were covered in dirt between his fingernails.

"Here, one for each of you, put it up like I did. Hurry up, and they won't be able to see you when you put it up."

After the old man finished speaking, he put the cross on his face as if teaching.

Seeing his nervous look, Charles turned to Feuerbach and asked, "Why is this guy so weird? Is he reliable?"

"You don't know him, so how does he know your name?" Charles' heart began to beat faster.

At this moment, the worn wooden door was kicked open, and the aggressive pirates rushed in.

"Don't waste time, let's give it a try." Richard controlled his arm and held the paper cross directly to his face.

Even the mice nearby huddled together and hid behind the cross.

The pirates froze for a moment, and Charles could feel the gazes directed at them.

The pirates can see me! This thing can't be invisible! !

Just when Charles was about to fight to the death, the ferocious looks on the pirates' faces slowly disappeared, they put down their weapons, and then turned and left as if they had seen nothing.

After a few seconds, the crowded alley outside the house suddenly became empty, as if everything before was fake.

"It turns out this thing is really useful. Hehe, not bad, I got a new relic." Richard said as he was about to put it into his pocket.

Charles stopped him, took the book and flipped through it quickly, and found that the cross was just made of ordinary scraps of paper.

"It's not this thing that's useful, it should be this guy."

Charles turned and looked at the old man who was carefully putting away the cross in his hand. "Why are you helping me?"

The old man was about to speak with a smile, but suddenly a look of fear appeared on his face. He squatted down and ran around the crowded room like an orangutan.

"Something's coming to see me, they're noticing me, oh my god, this is scary."

Looking at the funny scene in front of him, Feuerbach scratched his head in confusion. "What on earth are you doing? Captain Charles, is this guy crazy?"

Before he could finish, the old man pointed his finger at Feuerbach in horror.

"They are looking at you. Oh no, they are looking at me again. There are so many of them! I must find a way to avoid them!"

The old man searched quickly, and finally he put a half-rotten blue rat on his head and breathed a sigh of relief.

"Oh, fortunately, they are terribly afraid of rats. They find them disgusting. They dare not look at me anymore."

"Who are they you're talking about?" Charles inquired.

"We can't say it. If we say it, we will disappear. We will all disappear." The old man said seriously, waving his arms.

Seeing his crazy look, Charles changed the question. "What's your name?"

"Tuba, that's right, my name is Tuba." The old man with the rotten rat on his head smiled naively.

"Why did you save us? Have we ever met before?"

"I... I knew you were coming. I've seen you in my mind. I... I knew you were coming 30 years ago. I even prepared gifts for you."

As Eugene spoke, he rummaged through the messy garbage pile again, and soon he handed the dirty rag doll with a missing leg to the white mouse on the ground.

"This is yours, little girl. I seem to remember that I also had a little girl, but she was a little younger than you."
