Chapter 142: dawn

"Yes, yes, you will succeed." Facing Kede's crazy talk, Charles responded casually.

Ke De took another sip of wine, then suddenly stood up nervously and asked Charles nervously, "You said, I didn't hold the ceremony, will the God of Light dislike me and not let me enter the Kingdom of God?"

"Don't worry, your God of Light is not so stingy. Especially since you are so pious."

"Yes, yes, you are right. I pray every day and have persisted for more than 30 years. No one in the entire church is more devout than me. The God of Light will definitely not care about such a small matter." Ke De repeated Charles' words to comfort himself.

"Do you want to know what the Land of Light looks like? If you ask me, maybe I can tell you." Charles, who was a little drunk, said to Kede.

"You... burp! Tell me what's going on." Ke De, with a red face, was so drunk that he couldn't even stand steadily.

Looking at the dark sea in the distance, Charles talked about the things on the surface with a hint of reminiscence.

As the conversation got more lively, Charles even took out some of his previous drawings of the surface of the earth's memory and shared them with Kede.

"No, no, the Land of Light cannot be like this. This is completely different from what is recorded in the New Testament. You must have drunk too much!"

Sitting on the deck, Kede shook his head vigorously, emphatically denying Charles' description of the surface. He threw the empty bottle in his hand and snatched the bottle of wine from Charles' hand.

He raised his head, took another sip of wine, and began to explain in a serious manner.

"Let me, a saint of the Church of Light, tell you what the Land of Light looks like, what the territory of the God of Light looks like. That is the kingdom of the God of Light, a pure land that rejects all filth and darkness, where any desire will be satisfied, and devout believers will gain eternal life under the illumination of the divine light. And..."

When he said this, Ke De suddenly stopped as if he had forgotten the words.

Charles, who was lying on the ground with his legs crossed, laughed foolishly. "Kukukuku, keep making up stories, why don't you continue?"

Ke De's body began to tremble. He pointed his finger at the sea and stammered, "Am I dazzled? There seems to be a light over there."

"What!?" Charles sobered up instantly. He quickly turned over and stood up, looking towards the sea in the distance.

I saw a dark yellow color in the distant sky, like the dawn light looming on the distant horizon.

And as Charles' ship approached, the yellow color tended to become brighter and brighter.

"What...what is that? Charles, tell me, what is that?" Kede's eyes were full of fear and expectation, and he grabbed Charles and shook him hard.

Charles stood there in a daze, staring at the yellow light without moving. He could hear nothing except the sound of his own heart beating faster and faster.

The abnormality of the coastline soon attracted the attention of other crew members. All the crew members on the exploration ship rushed to the deck and pointed in that direction.

Just as they were discussing heatedly what that thing was, a scream suddenly sounded on the deck.

The scream woke up the stunned Charles. He looked back and saw white smoke coming out of his vampire sailor.

“My Lord!! Ahhh! My skin is melting! My body hurts so much!! Ahhhh!!”

Odric screamed and stumbled towards the cabin.

Ke De laughed crazily, "That's the sun, that's the land of light, that's the land of light that repels all dark creatures, including vampires!! We have reached the land of light!!"

"Pa pa pa" Dipper kept slapping his face with his hands, trying to wake himself up from the dream.

"Big guy, I don't have any strength in my hands, hit me."

James, who was standing next to him, grabbed his neck and punched him in the face with his big fist. Blood immediately started flowing down the boy's face.

"Does it hurt??"

"It hurts, it seems real."

All kinds of strange phenomena spread among the ships. Some were crying, some were laughing, and many were like Dipper, who slapped himself in the face to wake himself up.

As the ship slowly approached, a dazzling light pierced into the dark sea like a lightsaber.

In the center of the brightness is an island completely enveloped by sunlight. It is an island full of green and vitality.

Soon, the appearance of the island appeared in front of Charles. It was a tropical island with several mountains in the distance. Its overall appearance was half as large as the coral island.

Unlike other Earthsea islands, Charles could clearly recognize that the trees on the island were familiar ground plants.

The majestic palm trees, the banana trees with broad and large leaves, and the coconut trees loaded with fruits, everything here seems so familiar.

Facing the legendary land, no one could restrain their excitement. As soon as the exploration ship docked, everyone rushed to the white sand beach like crazy.

The first thing they did was to raise their heads and look for the light source in the sky, and even Charles did this.

The sunlight was too dazzling, and Charles' eyes were irritated and tears were streaming down his face, but he was reluctant to close his eyes. He was afraid that when he closed his eyes, the light full of hope would suddenly disappear.

Charles saw that the light source in the sky was not directly above the island, but slightly offset. This ray of sunlight full of vitality came from a crack in the dome in the sky.

Charles stared blankly, and suddenly he opened his mouth to speak.

"Dude, it's so high, how do we get up there?"

"Yeah, how do we get up there?" Although this was a question, Charles' voice was full of joy and he had a big smile on his face.

"Bang." Ke De next to him suddenly collapsed to the ground, his index fingers pressing on his white triangle, tears of excitement constantly streaming down his face.

Charles raised his head and then lowered his head. Suddenly, his eyes were blurred and there were black shadows. He was not panicked. This was because he had been staring at the sun for too long, and the strong light left a residual image on his retina.

"Hey, Kode, stop looking at it. You're going to get cataracts if you keep looking at it." Charles walked over and kicked him on the yellow robe.

"I have never felt such peace in my heart... I feel... I feel that the God of Light has come to pick me up..." Kede murmured to himself with tears in his eyes.
