Chapter 182: Dawn One

Hearing the surprise in Charles' words, the man laughed and said, "Of course. As the spokesperson of the God of Light, our Pope has found a way to communicate with the God of Light. Please follow me. The altar is over here."

Charles narrowed his eyes slightly. What on earth was the Pope doing? Did he really regard this thing as the God of Light

Thinking back to the Pope's wise eyes, Charles felt that there must be something fishy going on.

Charles followed these people passing between the crooked high-rise buildings. He could see that the road under his feet was a bruised road, but now the ground was painted with various religious symbols.

Walking among various triangular patterns, it seems deserted and a little weird.

The journey was not too long, and soon a wide intersection with a zebra crossing appeared in front of Charles.

On a street without vehicles, a flat-bottomed pyramid decorated entirely with gold rises up.

Looking at the five-story religious building in front of him, Charles couldn't help but be surprised by the wealth of the Church of Light. With so much gold, he could probably buy an island in the Earth Sea.

There are two believers of light wearing red leather jackets standing on the top of the pyramid. They look like they are guarding something. The top of the pyramid should be the place for communicating with the God of Light.

Charles was about to walk up the steps of the pyramid when he was stopped by a believer beside him. "Governor, please wait a moment. Although you are the chosen one of the God of Light, you must go through a certain ceremony to receive the oracle of the God of Light."

The Chosen One? What is that title? Charles didn't ask and just stood aside and waited.

Soon a believer in black rubber clothes came forward and began to chant hymns praising the God of Light. Then he walked along the golden steps towards the platform at the top of the pyramid while singing.

The melody of the song is beautiful and pleasant, and it can be seen that this person has extraordinary attainments in music.

Charles wiped the sweat from his forehead. In the scorching heat of over 40 degrees, no matter how beautiful the music was, it could not soothe his increasingly irritable mood.

When the song ended, the man just walked to the top of the pyramid.

Just when Charles thought the farce was about to end, the singer took off his rubber suit and exposed his naked body to the sun. "My Lord! Praise you! Please take me to the eternal kingdom!!"

She knelt on the ground with her hands crossed, completely motionless. This believer had been killed by the sunlight.

Under Charles's gaze, the two men next to him took out two daggers and began to quickly cut up the body. At this moment, Charles finally understood why the two men's leather jackets were red.

"Mr. Charles, the ceremony is completed, please." The believers next to him made way.

Charles walked towards the top of the pyramid with a look of disgust on his face. He had cooperated with the Church of Light in everything so much that he almost forgot that these lunatics were cultists.

When Charles reached the top of the pyramid, he saw that the singer had been skinned into a bloody skeleton and placed neatly on an altar, with a heart in his hands, as if he was going to offer it to the shining ring in the air.

Charles shook his head, raised his head, and squinted at the huge ring in the sky. "Dawn 1, can you hear me?"

The giant triangle in the dazzling ring began to change, making an ear-piercing buzzing sound, and then a majestic voice came down from above.

"I am the god of light, mortal. What do you want?"

Hearing that it actually responded, Charles' heart was suddenly filled with shock. It was hard for him to imagine that a being that could communicate so fluently could have been created.

But Charles soon calmed down. He noticed that this thing seemed to call itself a little differently from when he came here three years ago.

The God of Light? Charles remembered clearly that when he came up, this thing was still telling them the time. How come it has become the God of Light now? !

Charles turned his head and looked at the believers in the pyramid and asked loudly: "You crazy people, what have you taught it in the past three years?"

Seeing that the followers of the Church of Light below ignored him, Charles turned and looked at the ring in the air.

He thought for a moment and then said, "Okay, let's call you the God of Light. Let me ask you, do you know where the person who created you is?"

"Mortal, I am the God of Light, the creator of all light. I exist in the past, present and future. No one can create me."

Hearing this, Charles wanted to laugh for some reason. He looked up at Dawn No. 1 in front of him and asked again, "I don't want to hear anything more than this. Since you are intelligent, you should understand what I am talking about. What happened to the people in the Foundation? Have they all returned to the surface?"

Shortly after Charles finished asking the question, a pleasant ringtone suddenly rang from his pocket.

Charles was stunned. He took it out and saw that it was his cell phone ringtone.

After thinking for a moment, he slid his thumb to unlock the phone and put it to his ear, "Hello? Who is this?"

The majestic voice of the God of Light came from inside. "Who are you? A descendant of the survivors of the Foundation after the disaster?"

Looking at the huge halo in the sky, Charles felt a strong sense of unreality. He was talking to the God of Light on his cell phone

"Answer my question first, and then I'll answer yours. What is the disaster you are talking about?" Charles asked again.

Mantis once mentioned the disaster. He previously thought it was a disaster on the surface, but now it seems that this disaster is not for the surface but for the foundation.

"You are not a descendant of the Foundation, otherwise you would not know about the disaster. I guess so. In that disaster, no one from the Foundation survived."

Charles was a little confused by this. This guy talked for a long time but it was as if he had said nothing. He never gave a direct answer to his question.

"what your name?"

"I have many names. My self-identity is a living nuclear fusion reactor. I used to be called Dawn No. 1, and now I am called the God of Light."

"God of Light? Oh, did those lunatics teach you this?"

"No, they didn't teach me. It's just that I saw them kneeling down to worship me, and it was very interesting. As a human being, you should know that it feels great to be blindly worshipped. I like this feeling."

Charles glanced at the bloody skeleton in front of him and felt sorry for her. He quickly suppressed his unnecessary emotions and asked the most critical question. "Do you know where the surface exit is?"

After a brief pause, the voice of the God of Light sounded again, "Why should I tell you
