Chapter 215: Target

In the safe house of Governor He Fang's mansion, Margaret put her hands on her chest, listening to the continuous artillery fire coming from the direction of the dock. Her body trembled with every sound of artillery fire outside.

Her father and brother were fighting over there, and every explosion was most likely caused by them.

"What can I do? What can I do now to help them?" Margaret was so anxious that she was about to cry.

Margaret's mother, Karita, who was sitting nearby, grabbed her daughter's hand and pulled her aside to sit down.

"Don't worry, your father can solve this problem. We should trust him. He is one of the greatest governors of Hefang Island."

"Mother, why did the Governor of the British Isles attack us?"

Kalita sighed quietly, "That's all men's business, how would we know."

As the two women waited anxiously, the sound of gunfire outside gradually subsided.

Accompanied by servants, Margaret followed her mother from the safe house and finally returned to the magnificent Governor's Mansion.

Not long after, Margaret saw her gloomy-looking father getting out of the car with her brother.

Looking at the traces of battle on their bodies, Margaret was about to rush over, but she saw more people getting out of the car behind. Everyone had a very ugly face. They were all the management of Hefang Island.

She stopped and saw her father leading everyone towards the Governor's office.

Soon, the familiar roar of my father and the sound of banging on the table were heard in the office.

The sound continued for two hours, then the office door opened and the people inside quickly dispersed.

After seeing everyone else leave, Margaret rushed in like a flash.

"Father, brother, are you okay?"

Jack held the cigar in his hand and said unhappily, "Of course it's okay. If there was something wrong, would you be shouting here?"

Kalita walked out of the door to her husband's side and gently stroked his tightly clenched fist. "Next time there's a battle, you and Jack shouldn't go. Other governors would never be like you."

Daniel's voice was as loud as a trumpet. "I don't care about others! The family motto of the Cavendish family cannot be violated! The men of Cavendish must stand on the front line! What kind of a shitty governor is it if you are afraid of death!!"

Kalita looked at her son beside her worriedly, and asked her husband again: "Is everything over?"

Daniel shook his head. "That's impossible. That dog from the British Isles actually dared to attack the port. That means they have completely torn their relationship apart. This matter is not over yet."

"Then why did he do this? We didn't provoke them."

Daniel sneered and said, "My spies have found out that the dog has obtained a lot of industrial technology from the Church of Light three years ago, which has greatly improved the navy's strength. It seems that he is planning to surpass me and completely monopolize the entire North Sea."

"Is there no way to solve it? How about peace talks? We don't want to be the overlord of the North Sea anymore." Kalita said hurriedly with a worried look on her face.

"Can you, a woman, stop interfering in a man's affairs? Is this a matter of peace talks? He clearly wants to break the hardest bone first, so that the other small governor alliances will be completely obedient."

"Can you keep your voice down? I'm worried about you."

Margaret stood aside and watched her parents talk, with a somewhat sad expression on her face. Bad things had been happening one after another during this period of time, and nothing had ever gotten better.

Suddenly, Margaret felt a burning sensation on the tip of her little finger. She quickly pulled her hand back and found that it was her brother who burned her with a cigar.

Jack glared at Margaret, pointed out the door, and walked out.

"What's wrong?" Margaret followed him out and asked.

As soon as Jack put his hand on his sister's shoulder, it was directly opened.

"What? Are you angry? Actually, I was just a little anxious before, and my tone was a little impatient, but you have to understand my difficulties."

"I'm not angry. It's my fault. I shouldn't have been so angry and ran back here." Margaret said gloomily, looking at her toes.

Margaret looked up at her brother. She understood what he wanted her to do. "It's useless. He doesn't remember me at all. Charles won't help us."

"Whether it's useful or not, I know better than you. Sometimes men understand men better than women do. The power of the Governor of Hope Island is much greater than you think. You just need to do as I say."

Margaret thought about it and nodded, saying, "I can agree to your request, but I also have my own request. I don't want to wait in agony. Teach me how to fight, teach me how to fight. I also want to fight for Cavendish!"

After looking at his beautiful sister for a few seconds, Jack took a puff of his cigar, then put his strong arms around his sister's slender neck and rocked her back and forth. "Okay, you are worthy of being a member of our Cavendish family. Let us guard our home together!" —————————

In the cockpit of the Narwhal, Charles lay on the boat, covering his head and looking at the ceiling in front of him as it began to twist in pain. This feeling started again.

Not only was there auditory hallucinations, but there was also a sharp stabbing pain in the brain from time to time.

The doctor was sitting nearby drinking, and he looked at the suffering captain without showing any sign of worry.

"I have not been involved in your previous treatments. Using the medicine rashly may cause side effects. Just bear with it."

Charles closed his eyes and simply stopped looking at the distortion. "Bandage, move five degrees to the left, full speed, I can feel we are almost there."

Bandage at the helm silently followed the captain's orders.

The doctor pressed the bulging veins on Charles' forehead. "Can you really direct the route like this? You won't get us lost again, will you?"

"Shut up!!" Charles, with his eyes closed, uttered a rare curse. The sound even made Bandage think that the crazy Charles from before had returned.

The cabin suddenly became quiet, with only the ticking sound of the quartz clock on the wall.

Charles didn't know how much time had passed in his daze, but suddenly he felt the maddening pain in his brain disappear.

He opened his eyes and looked around, and found that the doctor and the bandage were looking out the glass window.

"What's wrong? Are we there yet?" Charles climbed out of bed and came to them.

I saw an island appearing on the dark sea in the distance, a bright island.

"Captain... is it... here?"

Charles nodded excitedly, "Yes, we are here. The way to lift the curse of God is on this island."

At least that's what his mind was positioning.

The Narwhal soon approached the island. This island was very strange. There were no ships at the dock, not even a fishing boat.

The ship dropped anchor and the crew members disembarked.

The dock here is also very strange, lacking a little bit of liveliness and dirtiness.

The dock buildings in the distance were no longer crew suits, brothels, bars, and casinos, but various strange buildings, including theaters, circuses, and doll shops.

Charles even saw a gorgeously decorated jewelry store opening in the port area.

Opening a jewelry store in the port area, is this too much money

Compared with the various mismatched buildings, the people on this island are also very strange.

Orange Lily scratched her furry cheek with her little paw and said to Charles, "Mr. Charles, they... they... they are so lazy."
