Shrouded Seascape

Chapter 217: comfortable

Views:

An unknown amount of time had passed when Lily's worried voice rang in Charles' ears, vague at first and then becoming clearer and clearer.

"Mr. Charles, Mr. Charles, are you okay? Don't scare me."

Charles's hazy consciousness gathered again, he opened his eyes and found himself lying flat on the ground under a big tree. The crew members stood in a circle and looked at him nervously.

"Look at my fingers, what number is this?" The doctor with a cold face raised two fingers and shook them in front of Charles.

Charles struggled to sit up. He was about to say something but suddenly froze. "What are we doing here?"

"Charles, didn't you say that coming here can lift the curse of God? Have you lost your memory?" The doctor examined his captain's head in confusion.

"Oh, I remember now. I'm here to lift the curse from God." Charles slapped his head and stood up, but the next second, he froze again.

Charles discovered that a large chunk of his memory was missing.

He still remembered that he had come down from the surface, but his memory of the time since he was rescued by the old captain had disappeared, and all he could find in his brain was a blank.

The same treatment was also given to a large area of memory after the battle with the giant butterfly, which also completely disappeared, just like an eraser erasing these two memories from the brain.

Charles turned his head to look at the giant tree beside him, and suddenly understood that this giant tree used its special ability to erase his memory of seeing God.

If the tree does this, will the curse of God disappear

Charles suddenly said to the old man next to him: "Doctor, check my body and see if I still have any mental pollution now."

The doctor took out a ball of mucus and handed it to him. This time, when Charles ate it, he found nothing, just like eating an ordinary piece of jelly.

The doctor kept looking at the giant tree next to him, his voice full of surprise. "It actually worked. Is there really something in the world that can remove the curse of God!?"

When Charles heard this, he found it hard to believe for a moment that the curse that had followed him for more than ten years had actually disappeared.

Charles didn’t know if it was an illusion, but he found that his mind was much clearer.

"Haha! Let's go! Let's celebrate today."

Charles, overjoyed, rushed into the most luxurious restaurant on the island with his crew.

"Mr. Charles, why do we have to eat to celebrate?" Lily asked curiously while holding a fork.

"Because this is the custom on the surface." Charles stroked her furry head with his hand.

The restaurant served food very quickly, and a variety of delicious food was brought up, including some that Charles recognized and some that he didn't. All the food looked very tempting.

Charles picked up the knife and fork and skillfully cut the tender steak in front of him. When he put the piece of meat with black sauce into his mouth and chewed it gently, his eyes suddenly lit up.

Even though he never cared much about food, he couldn't help but exclaim that the steak tasted so good. He had never eaten such delicious food before.

The rich aroma of food filled the entire dining table. The crew members were shoulder to shoulder, the plates clinking against each other, and they ate while chatting loudly. Everyone had a relaxed smile on their face. This mission was considered a successful completion.

"Waiter, do you have any wine? Bring me the best wine you have!" The doctor slapped the table roughly with his prosthetic limbs, not caring at all about the strange looks from all around.

Charles swallowed the food in his mouth and said, "Give me one, the strongest one!"

"And I."

"I also want."

The wine the crew needed soon arrived.

Charles' mind suddenly became clear after being stimulated by this, and he suddenly felt that now was not the time to celebrate.

"Mr. Charles, try this. The pickled fish roe is delicious." Lily pushed a small plate of food over.

The aftereffects of the wine came, and Charles felt like he was floating in the air. He thought to himself, "Since we're here, it would be a shame to spoil everyone's fun if we only eat halfway. I'll leave as soon as we finish eating."

When he thought of this, Charles' heart immediately calmed down and he enjoyed the wine and food wholeheartedly.

As he drank glass after glass of wine, Charles' consciousness slowly faded away.

When he opened his eyes again, he was already lying in a hotel room.

Charles stretched lazily and took out his pocket watch reluctantly. When he looked at the watch, he found that it was already the afternoon of the next day.

"Have I slept for so long? No wonder it's so comfortable." Charles lay down on the bed. He knew it was time to go back, but he just didn't want to move.

"Mr. Charles, it seems that the restaurant we had yesterday can now deliver. How about we eat their food today? It's really delicious."

On the other side of the pillow, Lily curled up into a ball and spoke lazily.

Charles licked his lips and said, "Alright, I'm hungry too. Let's go after this meal."

After eating and drinking, Charles lay on the bed and shaved his teeth with a toothpick. He had never felt so comfortable.

He pinched the plump Lily on his left hand. "With such delicious food, why don't we stay a few more days? We'll have the same rest when we return to Hope Island. I think resting here is much more comfortable than anywhere else."

"Yes!! It's such a nice place, I would be willing to live here for the rest of my life." Lily nodded repeatedly.

The man and the mouse had comfortable smiles on their faces, and the smiles on their faces were no different from those on the other islanders.

Charles felt very sleepy and slowly retreated into the quilt while hugging Lily, planning to take another nap.

Just as he was about to fall asleep, he suddenly felt a sharp pain on the diagonal scar on Charles' face.

The sleepiness disappeared in an instant. Charles covered his face with his hands clenched his teeth, rushed to the mirror and looked inside it.

There was nothing unusual on his face, it was still the same face and the same scar.

"Strange, why is it so painful all of a sudden? Should I go see a doctor?"

Just as Charles was thinking this, a more intense pain came from the diagonal scar on his face, causing him to almost twitch uncontrollably.

Charles flipped his right hand and a black blade appeared in his hand. He used the blade to cut along the diagonal scar on his face.

What was splashing inside was not blood, but bright purple light. An extremely beautiful purple light shot out from the scar on Charles' face.

The next second, a purple light appeared and a fist-sized translucent jellyfish emerged from the scar. It was the prophet.

This jellyfish was suspended in the air without any water, circling around Charles quickly.

"Charles, you should leave. If you stay here too long, you will stay here forever."
