As the day of the decisive battle approaches, the atmosphere on the island begins to grow heavy.
Inside the Explorers' Society on Hope Island, groups of people gathered around a simple brass-bearing machine.
The machine was a telegraph, and the people around were all exploration crew members who had not gone to sea. Each of them had a look of anxiety and anticipation on their faces.
Everyone couldn't help but be nervous. News just came in from outside that in two hours, Governor Julio would have contact with Governor Swan.
This war concerns everyone in the North Sea, and how the war unfolds is closely related to everyone's life.
Time passed little by little, and when it was so quiet that the only sound was the sound of each other's breathing, the telegraph suddenly started to ring by itself: "Ding ding ding ding~"
And as the sound was emitted, a piece of paper with long and short lines and points on it slowly emerged from inside.
"Does anyone know the telegraph code? Please translate it! How are they doing?"
"Me! I did this before I went to sea." A short man with a red beard jumped onto the table where the telegram was placed, picked up the paper and began to read it.
His expression changed from surprise to hesitation, but he didn't say anything for a long time, which made the captains around him so angry that they wanted to curse.
"Shorty! Are you going to tell me or not? You are so slow, are you going to be shot by me?"
"Hurry up and tell me! What does it say?"
Just as the other captains were getting excited, the little man suddenly spoke up. "Swan attacked Julio's fleet!"
These words instantly quieted the noisy hall, leaving only the little man's loud voice echoing.
"The battle took place three miles south of Spider Island. Swann was hiding in the water in his Lonca. He used the beam of light that killed Governor He Fang to sweep the entire fleet horizontally from below the water surface. Governor Julio's invincible fleet suffered heavy casualties. Swann's fleet, which was ambushed all around, had already surrounded them. They started fighting."
Having said this, the little man paused, threw away the paper in his hand, and continued to pull the next one out of the telegraph machine.
"Governor Julio began to fight back. He rushed to Longka alone. Many people got off Longka and tried to stop Governor Julio, but they were all quickly defeated by him."
"Those people are a trap! Just when Governor Julio was being entangled by them, a beam of light directly submerged them all!"
"Hiss~!" Everyone present took a deep breath.
Just when they thought the battle was over, the telegraph started beeping again.
"Governor Julio is fine! I don't know how he managed to escape!" "He is truly worthy of being the strongest governor in Earthsea! !"
"Huh~" Everyone breathed a sigh of relief. After hearing what the little guy said, they seemed to be there.
"He was the only one standing in the boiling sea! He ignored the warships fighting around him and rushed directly towards the long legs of "Lonka"!"
Telegrams were sent one after another, and were deciphered one by one by all the islands in the Earth Sea. Everyone was concerned about this epic war, and everyone's heart was sometimes up and sometimes down as the war situation changed.
The little man talked for three hours, and by the time he picked up another telegram, he felt like his throat was about to smoke.
Before I knew it, the floor was covered with scattered papers.
"Who has water? Give me something to drink. My throat is so dry."
"I have wine! Read the rest of it to me quickly!" A leather wine bag was thrown up.
The little man picked up the wine bag and gulped down several mouthfuls. Then he wiped the wine from his mouth with his sleeve and planned to continue analyzing the paper in his hand. However, after taking a look at it, he was stunned.
"What's the matter? Tell me quickly."
When the crew heard the news, the roof of the entire hall was almost blown off by the excitement of the crew.
They all knew what it meant to be the only governor in Earthsea with rank 15 strength.
As long as he climbed onto a "Lonka", it would mean that it would not be long before he twisted Swan's head off.
By then, the pressure on everyone’s head will disappear instantly, and the Western Sea will return to peace again.
"Lonca is on fire and it's smoking. Huge amounts of smoke! Julio's attack worked!! I think he's going to catch Swan soon."
Just as everyone was holding their breath in anticipation of the final moment, the telegram rang again.
"Swan crawled out. He was dragging something in his hand. It was Governor Julio's body! Governor Julio is dead!!"
"This is impossible!! This is absolutely impossible!"
"That's right! Everyone in Earthsea knows that the Governor of the British Isles has no power at all! How could he kill Julio!!"
"I don't believe it! This must be a lie!!"
"Beep, beep, beep." The excited captains immediately stopped and waited for the little man to continue translating.
"Governor Julio is not dead! He emerged from his crew's body covered in blood! He took out something, a book-"
The little man stopped talking abruptly, and just when everyone asked him to continue, he flipped the paper in his hand.
The upper part of the telegraph code, which should have been filled with dots and lines, was completely covered with all kinds of messy spots, as if the other party was suddenly interrupted by something while typing the telegram.
"Don't worry, let me ask what's going on over there." After the little man said this, he pressed rhythmically on the brass handle of the telegraph machine.
Everyone was waiting anxiously, but it seemed as if the connection was disconnected and no news came.
All the islands in the Earth Sea were constantly sending telegrams to Spider Island, trying to find out the situation on the battlefield, but the results were all the same, as if something was blocking the transmission of the telegrams.
However, in such a huge battlefield, there are always some fish that slip through the net. When these people escaped back to the island, the news finally reached Hope Island, and the first person to receive the news is always the governor of the island.
"What did you say? They called a truce!?" Charles stood up in shock.
He had thought of various situations and made many plans for possible situations, but he had never expected the current situation.
"According to the telegram, it seems that Governor Julio used some extremely powerful relic. Both sides suffered heavy casualties and they began to retreat."
Just as Charles was calculating in his mind how to take advantage of this situation and maximize his benefits, the butler walked up to him and said, "Governor, the Church of Light is at the door with a huge stone statue. They want to see you."
"The Pope is behind Swan, what does this guy want from me now?" Charles thought to himself.
It's too late today, so I can only update three times. Sorry, I will challenge to update four times tomorrow.
