Shrouded Seascape

Chapter 245: deep sea

“Hoo~~~hiss~~~~Hoo~~~~hiss~~~”

In the lightless sea, the only sound Charles could hear was his own long breathing.

Just now when he was on the surface of the sea, he saw a few common sea fish here and there, but the deeper he went, the emptier the sea became, until now there was only suffocating darkness all around.

At this moment, Charles felt the blood in his body constantly rushing to his brain. Although he currently had enough oxygen, he inexplicably felt a lack of oxygen in his heart.

"Whoosh~" There was a sound of swaying sea water nearby, and a dim fluorescent light suddenly lit up in the dark sea water. That was the light source brought by Feuerbach. Riding on the back of a shark, he was dancing and waving flags to Charles.

"The water is 100 meters deep. It's dangerous down there! Do you want to dive?"

Charles shook his head to show that he understood, and gestured to continue, saying that he had to go down and take a look today.

Looking at the stubborn captain in front of him, Feuerbach swallowed hard and patted the shark's back under him.

The red shark waved its crescent-shaped tail fin and continued to dive underwater with the two people.

The water pressure of the sea continued to rise. Charles could even feel the two glass lenses in front of him creaking.

He couldn't help but feel nervous. If the glass shattered at this moment, the strong water pressure would definitely be mixed with glass shards and spray directly onto his face.

Ten meters, twenty meters, thirty meters. Just when Charles felt that his leather clothes were almost reaching their limit, he finally saw the bottom of the sea.

Right below them was an airport. It was an airport with a 30-degree tilt. The flat runway was covered with various underwater coral barnacles. If it weren't for the broken planes stuck on the seabed, Charles would hardly recognize the use of this place.

Charles used flag signals to stop Feuerbach who was about to swim towards the plane.

The airport didn't have what he wanted. Neither the exit information nor the 319 relics could be in such a place.

Like modern buildings, there is a straight driveway outside the airport to transport passengers by plane, although this driveway has been decayed to the point that it is almost unrecognizable.

According to Charles' modern experience, the end of the street should be the center of the island, and what he needs is most likely there.

Led by a small group of red sharks, the two swam quickly.

Swimming in such deep and dark water is not a pleasant experience. Charles' toes can no longer feel the cold. He estimates that the temperature here is close to zero degrees.

But the good news is that at least so far, he hasn't seen anything dangerous. It's a deserted place here and he hasn't seen any living things.

Walking along the runway, various buildings gradually began to appear around us.

At first there were only some single-story buildings, a bit like a rural area. Gradually, the buildings around it became more and more numerous and taller, and finally high-rise buildings hundreds of meters high appeared.

The sky bridges between the buildings give this sunken island a sci-fi feel.

Although these buildings have been decayed beyond recognition, just by looking at their specifications, one can tell how advanced and glorious the foundation's main island was in the past.

Charles clenched his fist with one hand to signal Feuerbach to stop, and he swam towards a square platform on the overpass, where there was a map of the main island with various lines marked on it, which seemed to be some kind of public transportation stop signs.

He quickly searched on the map, trying to find where the relics were stored.

Suddenly, Charles felt an inexplicable tightness in his heart, and the feeling of being spied on reappeared again. The thing followed him, and his sight came from the edge of a tall building in the distance.

Charles did not act suddenly. He swam calmly to the side of Fehbach's shark and waved his hand to signal them to move on.

As the two continued to swim forward, Charles placed his fingers on the left side of his body and gestured rapidly.

Feuerbach nodded slightly in tacit understanding, and opened his mouth to shout something silently.

Soon, the sharks surrounding him quickly dispersed, and the two continued to swim slowly in this silent sunken island in the sea.

When the feeling came back, Charles began tapping the shark's back with his fingers.

"Swish!" The shark that had just left suddenly appeared from the surrounding darkness, opened its ferocious mouth, and rushed towards the dark direction on the left.

Charles and Feuerbach followed closely behind, rushing in that direction. Just as they turned a corner along the towering building, their pupils suddenly shrank.

A huge black hole of twenty meters in diameter suddenly appeared in front of them. At that moment, Charles felt his whole body trembling uncontrollably, as if he was being stared at by God again.

After three full seconds, Charles's paused breathing resumed.

That was not the eye of a god; it was the eye socket of some underwater creature, a gloomy skeleton not much smaller than the surrounding buildings.

Looking at the giant skeleton in front of him, Charles found it hard to imagine how big this thing was when it was alive. Just standing next to it made people instinctively hold their breath.

The sea water swayed, and the shark that had just rushed past jumped out of the black hole, waving its fins around Feuerbach.

"not found!"

Looking at the flag in Feuerbach's hand, Charles showed a trace of annoyance on his face. That thing disappeared again. What on earth was it for?

He waved his hand and walked towards the viaduct station. Since that thing wanted to follow him, then let it follow him. He couldn't waste time now and had to find 319.

Just as Feuerbach was taking the shark away, seven or eight twisted tentacles covered with black matter emerged from the black hole.

When the tentacles filled the entire black round hole, the entire skeleton of the creature, which was several hundred meters tall, trembled extremely slightly.

The map of the station was very old, and Charles looked for several stations in a row before finally piecing together all the transportation stations.

Charles quickly scanned the names of various sites, skipping those that obviously looked like living areas and quickly looking for the laboratory.

Soon Charles found two of them, the D2 laboratory and the project laboratory, both of which were on the edge of the island.

Charles immediately set his sights on the project laboratory, where 319 was most likely to be.

Just as he was about to leave, he saw Feuerbach approaching. This time, there was a hint of excitement on his face. He patted the shark's back with his hand and began to signal Charles with flags. "One less!"
