Shrouded Seascape

Chapter 347: Clay figurine

Views:

When Charles rushed out of the tree hole, he saw that the thing that set off the rat alarm was being held at gunpoint by his own crew members.

That was not the rope man encountered before, but a man made of mud. He was only 1.4 meters tall and stood there motionless, holding a black mushroom the size of a basketball in his arms.

"Captain, there is a living person in the mud. I can smell the blood flowing in his veins." Odric showed his two fangs and licked them with his scarlet tongue.

"A living person?" Charles flicked out the black blade and scraped it lightly on the clay figure. The dark mud peeled off, revealing the white body hidden behind the mud.

"Is this tree hole your home?" Charles asked the strange guy.

The clay man stood there motionless, completely ignoring Charles's intention.

Charles snatched the mushroom from his hand and threw it to the mouse beside him. "Try it and see if it's edible."

Soon two mice rushed up and started gnawing quickly, but after a few seconds, they lay on the ground and retched continuously.

"Lily, what happened to them? Is this thing poisonous?"

"No, this big mushroom is not poisonous. They say it is very bitter, so bitter that you can't even feel it on your tongue."

Even mice find it bitter, so you can imagine how bad it tastes. But this also illustrates a problem: no matter how bad it tastes, this mushroom is indeed food.

Odric's previous judgment was correct. This thing was indeed a living person. It probably went out to collect food.

Charles suddenly took a step forward and used the black blade in his hand to fly up and down along the clay figure's face.

Soon the mud on the clay figure's face was peeled off, and an exquisite face appeared in front of Charles, with perfect facial features like a sculpture.

Under the long eyelashes, there was a pair of charming amber eyes, and some crew members stared at her in amazement.

But Charles didn't care about that and put the black blade in his hand against his neck. "Who are you? Speak!"

At this moment, Tuba rushed over. "I'll do it, I'll do it, I'm good at this kind of thing."

He held the hand of the man in the mud and stood there frozen with him. The two of them standing together looked like a sculpture called "Friendship".

The crew members surrounded them and looked at them. Dipper asked Charles in surprise: "Captain, this guy knows what this person is thinking. Can he be a telepath?"

Charles frowned and did not answer. He was not quite sure, but he was not surprised at all if Tuba, the living relic, had some new abilities. He had shown his special ability of foresight on Tianshui Island.

One minute passed, two minutes passed, three minutes passed, and Tuba stood there with the clay figure still motionless.

"Tuba, do you know what he is thinking?" Charles asked with a hint of doubt in his voice.

Tuba, who was frozen in place, suddenly turned his head towards Charles and said in surprise: "He didn't say a word. How could I know what he was thinking? I was waiting for him to speak."

Dipper scratched the green scales on his head speechlessly, "Are you a fool? If he could talk, would you still be asking?"

"He's not a fool, he's just a lunatic." Charles, somewhat impatient, pulled Tuba back.

"No, I'm saying that he didn't say anything in his heart. I'm really good, you have to believe me." Tuba kept arguing for himself.

Charles ignored Tuba's shouting. He didn't have time to waste here. Since the other party was still pretending to be a statue, don't blame him for using some tricks.

"Buzz buzz buzz~!!" The sound of a chainsaw was heard. When the rapidly rotating chainsaw cut flesh, it was no different from cutting tofu with a knife.

Just as the rapidly spinning chainsaw approached the clay man's fingers, the bandaged first mate, who had been silent all this time, placed his hand on Charles's black prosthesis.

"Wait... wait... Captain, I feel like he doesn't... want to move, he... is just imitating..."

"Imitate... those... rope men..."

The sound of the chainsaw stopped, and Charles looked at the guy in front of him with a frown.

After thinking for a moment, Charles said, "Listen to my command and close your eyes for one second."

The crew members and the mice immediately did as they were told. When they opened their eyes again, they were surprised to find that the guy who had just stood still had turned around and was running away.

It can only move when you are not watching it. Charles was very surprised.

Charles asked the crew member to close and open his eyes quickly, and found that the guy ran a few more steps.

Charles carried him directly into the tree house. As he walked, he ordered, "You all stand outside and be on guard. I'm here to have a good chat with this guy alone."

"Yes, Captain!"

"Yes, Captain!!"

When Charles dragged the clay figure into the tree hole, he found that the other party still did not move. In such a dark situation, he should not be able to see his own field of vision.

But from the current situation, it seems that this clay figure has a special way to sense Charles' gaze in the dark.

Charles opened and closed his eyes quickly, and the thing in front of him began to move again, trying to escape towards the tree hole.

Of course Charles wouldn't let him go. He had finally found a human being, and he wanted to get some information out of this guy's brain.

He reached out and straightened the clay figure, looking at his perfect features and said word by word: "Answer my question. Are there any other buildings on this island? Where did the humans who came with you go?"

After Charles finished speaking, he began to open and close his eyes repeatedly, trying to get him to respond to his questions.

But the other party ignored Charles and only wanted to run away.

"Bang!" A bone bullet grazed the clay figure's face, leaving a bloody mark on that perfect face.

The gunshots attracted the attention of the crew members. They stuck their heads in with torches in hand and looked around. When they found that their captain was not in any danger, they quickly retracted their heads.

"Answer my questions and don't force me to attack you." Charles put the barrel of his gun against the clay man's head.

But even with Charles' threat, the other party still had no intention of answering and continued to run towards the cave entrance.

"Captain, maybe this guy can't speak at all." A cold female voice came from behind him. Charles turned his head and found it was his ship's doctor Linda.

The bald woman walked in and looked carefully at the eyes of the clay figure.

"You see, when he was listening to us, his eyes didn't react at all. He didn't understand at all."

Just when Charles was thinking about how to communicate with a person who couldn't speak, Linda spoke again: "Captain, let me try. I'm a doctor."

Charles thought for a few seconds and nodded. "Okay, then be careful. This guy might be pretending to be scared."

After he said that, he threw the flesh and blood revolver in his hand to her for protection and walked straight out of the tree hole.
