Shrouded Seascape

Chapter 352: Lilith

Quickly getting rid of the irrelevant things in his mind, Charles asked Audric: "Did you detect anything? What's in there?"

"This building is very large and circular, but because it is blocked by glass, I can't see what is behind the window."

"Room?" Charles squinted at the huge building in the distance.

All other places were abandoned, and this building was so new that he didn't believe there were no clues inside.

Charles turned around and looked at his crew. This was a very dangerous mission, and it was impossible for such a large group of people to go together, as that would only bring a lot of trouble.

At least the fragile sailors would only die if they followed, and their mission of transporting supplies had been accomplished.

He quickly decided who would go in: himself, Lily and Mouse, Bandage, Linda, Dipper, and Tuba.

Everyone else had their own reasons for entering, and as for the old madman Tuba, he was looking for the possibility of communication between those sound creatures.

Besides, this guy is a bit mysterious, which might come in handy at a critical moment.

Facing the round, bright white building in the distance, Charles and the selected crew members crawled forward. Everyone was very careful, fearing that there would be any noise.

Soon the five men and a bunch of rats arrived at the door of the huge building.

As the distance got closer, the huge building became clearer in front of Charles.

I have to say, the more Charles looked at it, the more he felt that this building looked a bit like a museum, even the steps in front looked like a museum.

Pushing open the black glass spiral door, Charles and others walked into the building.

As soon as you enter the door, there is a hall with many entrances and exits. The tiles on the floor are spotless, clearly reflecting the solemn expressions on the faces of Charles and others.

"Let's search from the left first. Try not to cause any noise if possible. I don't know what else this place has besides those murderous music."

At least those murderous music couldn't have cleaned the building spotlessly. There must be something else inside the building.

Everyone nodded together and walked forward carefully along the corner.

Not far along the empty corridor, the first thick door appeared in front of them.

There was an electronic lock on the door, and Linda's corrosive gastric juice came in handy at this moment.

Inside the door were various suites with various machines and rooms stacked one on top of the other. Behind the most heavily guarded glass window, Charles saw a black mummy with a peanut head.

Charles didn't know whether it was a living relic or a Foundation experiment, but it was definitely not what he was looking for.

Everyone quickly retreated and continued to look for the next house.

Next to the Peanut Head was another door. The decoration inside was almost the same as the one next door, except that the innermost cell was broken open like a caesarean section, and two glass jars were displayed in front of them.

One of them was broken, and there was only a skeleton left in the other one. It seemed that the things imprisoned inside had long broken through the Foundation's blockade.

Just as Charles turned around and was about to leave, the abnormality of the skeleton's skull suddenly caught his attention. It was not an ordinary human being, and there were sharp fangs on his upper and lower jaws.

He leaned over the glass and looked at the lower end of the fang, and soon he noticed the thin straw inside the sharp fang.

"Mr. Charles, this gentleman has small fangs that suck blood, just like Mr. Audric." Lily, who was standing on his shoulder, exclaimed.

"O-sideroblastic anemia in a patient with porphyria type 3: Hades."

Charles looked under the broken jar on the other side.

"O-sideroblastic anemia type 3 porphyria patient: Lilith."

"Porphyria..." Charles muttered to himself, touching his fangs. He suddenly seemed to understand where the patients here had gone.

"What did Audric say before? Her mistress was invited to the underground by a being? It seems that in order to save face in front of the younger generation, the mistress slightly beautified the process..."

At this moment, Charles saw the crew members around him staring at him motionlessly, as if wondering what he was doing.

"This place is probably full of cells used to imprison living creatures. If we come across a similar room next time, we can just pass by it," Charles said, and walked out with the others.

Charles led them in and out of each room and quickly explored this maze-like building.

The buildings here seemed to be specially built to imprison human-like things, and some of the "things" inside were empty, some were still there, and some were already dead.

After walking around the building for half an hour, Charles led his friends to the door of a house.

With a "click", the door was opened, and the things that appeared in front of him made Charles' pupils shrink suddenly. Various precision mechanical equipment filled the spacious space.

Charles was not surprised by these things. What surprised him was that on the right side of this laboratory-like room, there was a row of floor-to-ceiling windows without walls.

Through the transparent glass, Charles saw a circular plaza the size of four football fields, which was the center of the building.

In the center of the square stands a huge colorful tree.

It was a towering tree that was hundreds of meters tall, with twisted tumors of various sizes growing on its trunk.

Slowly approaching the window, with his excellent hearing, Charles could hear the mosquito-like music outside the window.

Even though he couldn't see it, Charles could tell that the murderous strings were outside at the moment, circling around the huge tree trunk.

Charles didn't know what the relationship was between this tree and the murderous music, but no matter what the relationship was, he didn't want to provoke these invisible and intangible enemies.

He slowly stepped back and said in a low voice, "Start looking! Hurry up, we can't stay here any longer."

Rats began to scurry throughout the room, and the crew members rummaged through the room, trying to make as little noise as possible while searching.

Soon some papers were delivered to Charles, but they were all records that he couldn't understand. There was nothing he was looking for.

As time passed, sweat began to appear on everyone's forehead. Every once in a while, they would close their eyes and listen, alert for any strange noises that might suddenly come.

The feeling of dancing on the edge of a knife is really torturous.

But the things outside did not notice Charles and the others, and the various chaotic melodies always stayed where they should be.

On one side are extremely dangerous monsters, and on the other side are humans looking for intelligence. At this moment, the two are in a delicate balance.
