Charles gently pressed his eye sockets with his hands. He was too excited before that he didn't notice that only one eyeball came back, and his right eye was still empty.
"My child, one eye is enough. You know that it took a lot of effort for us to treat your eye. You can take care of the other one yourself." The church's voice once again returned to that kind disguise.
Charles frowned as he looked at the old man in front of him. He always felt that the old man had a way to cure his eyes, but he just had to annoy him.
However, Charles also knew that since the other party had already helped him, there was nothing more to say.
The feeling of suddenly regaining sight was so good that it lifted his depressed mood caused by the doctor's death.
He thought for a moment, then reached out and pulled out the sea chart from his bosom and handed it over. "Oh, by the way, I found this during the last exploration. Take a look."
Charles handed him a map of the surface exit. When the Pope saw clearly what was drawn on the map, his body suddenly trembled, and every wrinkle on his face began to ripple with excitement.
He turned suddenly and rushed towards the church behind him with the nautical chart. His back looked like a child who had received candy.
Not long after, Charles heard loud cheers coming from inside the church, and the sound was getting louder and louder.
"Shua~!" The Pope rushed out again with a large group of people, and everyone's face was flushed with excitement. "Why didn't you tell me this news earlier! Why!! You know what this means!!"
"I've already given it to you. I didn't know it would take you so long to treat my eyes. I thought it would only take a day or two at most."
Charles reached out to take the map back but the Pope snatched it back. "Wait! I must send someone to take a backup of this chart right away. This chart is of great importance. It is more precious than an island made of gold. Charles, you did a great job!! Very good!"
Looking at the seven or eight hands carefully holding the nautical chart, Charles was too lazy to snatch it from them. Anyway, he had asked the crew to copy three-quarters of it at the first opportunity. It was just a nautical chart. What was important was the information on it. The object itself was not a piece of torn paper.
"No need to return it, just take this picture." Charles waved his hand and turned to leave. He now needed to solve the problem of his other eye.
"When will you set sail next time? This time, I will personally bring people to go with you."
"Wait a minute, my crew needs to rest. I'm not in a hurry now, not at all."
Under the gaze of the followers of the Church of Light, Charles quickly jumped onto the roof next to him, and after a few quick leaps, he left their sight.
Not long after that day, Charles received a report from naval intelligence claiming that the followers of the Church of Light were behaving unusually.
But Charles ignored them. After getting the information about the surface exit, he felt that this reaction was a bit too little for these crazy people.
"Anna, come quickly. I have something important to tell you." A telegram was sent to the Crown of the World. Soon, Anna, wearing purple high-split black stockings, appeared in front of him.
"There is such a thing in this place? What is it made of? Silk?" Charles' hand touched it naturally.
"Specially cultivated spider silk." Anna slapped the hand off her thigh and rolled her eyes at him. "You'd better give me a reasonable reason, otherwise don't blame me for turning against you."
Charles took out the two boxes containing spiders. "I'm still missing an eye, and I was going to use this to replace it, but you only gave me this and didn't tell me how to use it."
Anna's tone became a little sharp, and she raised her high heels to kick Charles' calves. "Can't you just ask Elizabeth? You have to ask me to come all the way for such a small matter. Do you know how busy I am?!"
Charles took a step forward, gently put his arm around her waist, looked down at her and said, "Jia Jia, because I miss you."
Seeing the deep affection in Charles' eyes, Anna blushed slightly and turned her face away.
But after a few seconds, seeing that Charles didn't move, she turned her head back in displeasure, her long and slender eyebrows slightly wrinkled. "Don't stop, keep teasing, you haven't even reached the point yet."
Charles laughed dumbly. He loosened his hand and handed the box to her. "Hurry up. It's really hard to adapt to having only one eye now."
"That kind of thing is only worth so much feedback. You can have as much as you want."
"This is called a sense of ritual. Do you understand what a sense of ritual is?" Anna said, and the fingers of her right hand turned back into dark hollow tentacles.
Tentacles were flying, and several intricate prismatic magic arrays were carved on the table nearby.
She pushed the box in her hand inwards. The spider could only crawl around the inner circle of the magic circle.
"Open your eyes. I need a little of your flesh and... a little of your soul."
The black tentacle quickly inserted into Charles' empty left eye, and as an unbearable pain came, blood flowed out of Charles' eye socket.
Then, Charles felt as if something was missing in his heart, and his heart was empty.
Anna quickly retracted her tentacles, and threw the small piece of meat and a hint of blurry green on the tentacle at the spider, and the magic circle lit up.
Just as Charles covered his right eye and gasped, he saw Anna looking at him with a smirk on her face. "Oh, sorry, I'm a little rusty and failed just now. I need to get the medium again."
"Anna, you must be doing this on purpose. It really hurts."
"You can't blame me for this. These are all magic tricks. It's my first time doing them too. I don't know much more than you." Anna's tentacles once again drilled into Charles' right eye socket.
This time it worked. As Anna chanted the awkward spell, the black spider with the red eye pattern on its back suddenly stiffened.
Charles' right eye, which should have been completely dark, suddenly could see something.
Charles closed his good eye and soon discovered that it was Anna's face in black and white.
"How is it? Does it work?" Charles saw Anna kissed his vision.
He opened his good eye and saw Anna holding up her hair and kissing the pattern on the spider's back.
The vision of his missing right eye was linked to the pattern on the spider's back, and it was more than just a link between vision.
Charles' heart moved, and the spider quickly crawled on the table and crawled towards Charles.
It crawled to the table and leaped, only to be caught by a pitch-black steel prosthetic limb. It crawled along the clothes to Charles' face and quickly slipped under his shriveled eyelids.
Charles blinked, and both eyes looked at the beautiful woman in front of him at the same time, and his two lost eyes returned.
While one eye is overly saturated in color, one eye is in black and white.
