When Charles climbed up a rope ladder to the top of the airship, he saw the structure of the giant airship clearly for the first time.
Three 500-meter-long airbags form the upper part of the airship, and two huge submarine-like cabins are hung underneath the airbags.
There is a slender steel bridge between the two cabins, and the Pope in a gorgeous white robe is standing in it.
When Charles came to the shaking bridge and saw his haggard face, his heart suddenly skipped a beat and he had a bad feeling.
The Pope smiled bitterly at Charles's wrinkled face. "I'm sorry, I tried everything, but the door won't open."
"Why can't it be opened? You brought so many people and so many boats this time, are you going on a trip?" Charles frowned slightly.
"I tried many methods, including explosives, divine arts, relics, and magic, but nothing worked against that huge door."
"When I said it had no effect, I'm not exaggerating. It really had no effect at all. With all the explosives thrown at it, there was not even a scratch on the huge steel gate."
"Is it so strong?" Charles was greatly shocked when he heard this.
He suddenly wanted to know what materials the foundation had used when building the door, and why it was so sturdy.
According to him, there was no such strong material on the surface before he came down. "Can't we cut in from the side of the door? Do we have to go all the way to the door?"
The Pope sighed helplessly. "I brought so many people there, how could I not have thought of this method? It's useless. This door is buried in the rock and there is a huge pipe. When they built this door, they probably thought someone would do this."
Charles quickly estimated the time in his mind and said to the Pope: "Excluding the time spent going back and forth, how long have you been in the V4 shelter in total? Think about it carefully. There must be another way to open the door."
The Pope sighed and said, "Sorry, I don't have time to waste here. My people cannot be wasted here. The Cathedral of Holy Light has been occupied. I need to go back and provide support immediately."
Although Charles had an idea of who did it, he still couldn't help but ask, "Who did it?"
"Who else could it be? Those disgusting freaks who worship the sea monsters. I originally left enough people to prevent them from attacking, but I never expected that this time, not only the Futan religion, but also some ignorant mortals would help them."
"I must gather all the believers to take back the Cathedral of Holy Light. That is our holy land. The opportunity to follow the God of Light to the Land of Light is right before us. We cannot lose our composure at this moment."
"If we don't take that place back, it will be a huge blow to the confidence of the followers of the Church of Light."
"What about the door? What about the door to the surface?" Charles asked.
The Pope said nothing, but just looked at him with a smile.
Charles showed a hint of sarcasm on his face. "You want me to go again, right? You've been doing this for so long, but you haven't done anything at all?"
"No, we found some clues that can help you determine your next target." The church took out some photos.
When Charles took it, he found that the photos were some details of the giant gate in the sky, and several of them were spliced together to form a huge keyhole.
"If we find the key, we can accomplish our goal. You once said that the Foundation would send a group of people to the surface regularly. If that's the case, then I think the key won't be too far away. It's near the island we found before. You can start looking for it from the islands surrounding the V4 containment point. Otherwise, it would be too troublesome to move such a large object around."
"You went with so many people, didn't you look for other islands?"
"Didn't I explain it to you? We had no time to waste. We rushed back as soon as we received the notice."
Charles looked at the photo in his hand with a frown. He thought that everything was over, but now it seems that he still has work to do.
"Why didn't you come when I was looking for the key?" Charles asked him after thinking for a long time.
“No, of course not. The Cathedral of Holy Light is our holy place. I must go back to contain those disgusting monsters, and…” The Pope’s face seemed a little ugly when he said this.
"Although I don't want to admit it, but on those strange islands, no matter how powerful I am, I may not be of much help."
Charlton stood on the bridge, looking down at the neatly-organized fleet below.
"In that case, I'm not going to look for it alone this time. I need to mobilize the power of the entire Hope Island to find the key."
The Pope frowned slightly, "Are you really not afraid that some of the extremely dangerous things in the Foundation will be discovered by others? You have been to so many islands, you should also know that if some things are discovered by others, it will cause big trouble."
"I'm not afraid. On the contrary, I'm more afraid that if I keep looking like this, I won't find the key and I'll die first."
As for the danger to humans, Charles felt that he could just wait until things went wrong before dealing with them.
He didn't want to waste any more time. Hope Island obviously had so many navy men, and the Explorers Association obviously had so many explorers. But he had to explore island after island alone. This was really too inefficient.
The Pope looked unhappy when he heard this. “Charles, you can’t be so selfish. Many people will die.”
Charles looked at the old man in front of him expressionlessly. "Your joke is not funny at all. If there is nothing else, I will go down first. My crew is still holding a wedding."
"Wait, wait." As the Pope opened his hands, the photo in Charles' hand quickly flew into the air and was quickly folded into a nautical chart, which was the map found on the Rope Man Island before.
"Look, there are only five islands near the V4 containment point where 010 is detained. The key is most likely between these islands. How about you explore these five islands yourself? Just five."
Charles stared at the Pope. "What are you doing?"
"What can I do? Of course I have to find the key to the surface exit. Don't forget your pen's ability. If I really am not looking for the surface exit, then its punishment for me has already begun."
"That's your relic, and you signed the contract, so you wouldn't have forgotten it, would you?"
