As Charles hovered in the dome five hundred meters to the right of the giant gate, he saw those things clearly.
Those were some broken stone pillars, and judging from the situation above, the Foundation had built an upside-down city on top of them.
If this upside-down city still existed, it would certainly be magnificent. Unfortunately, as so much time has passed, only some ruins remain of the city.
"Hmm?" Charles, who had discovered something, climbed up a pillar and looked at it carefully. The sharp cuts on it were very unusual. They were not gaps caused by natural weathering.
This type of cut reminded him of his former enemies, the giant praying mantises hanging upside down on the outskirts of New Territories City.
This inverted city did not fall down by itself, but was destroyed by those mantises.
"It seems that there are probably other colonies of mantises all over the dome. I hope they won't cause trouble next time I go up there."
Charles observed for a while, and when he saw no other clues, he folded his wings and flew back quickly.
"Captain? What did you find up there?" Dipper asked curiously.
But he found that his captain seemed to be in a low mood and didn't seem to want to pay too much attention to him.
"Stop talking nonsense and set sail." Charles said this and turned to walk towards the captain's room.
Dipper looked at the dark sky in surprise, then raised his foot and kicked Norden's calf next to him, "Did you hear that? The captain ordered us to weigh anchor."
"Yes! As you command!" Norden shouted tensely and quickly rushed towards the anchor winch.
Dipper shook his head helplessly. It seemed like it would take some time for this kid to change his habits.
After giving a few instructions to the remaining veteran sailors, Dipper turned and walked towards the cockpit.
As soon as he entered the door, he saw the second mate Krona, who was at the helm, drinking. "Hey, man, it's your shift now. How dare you drink?"
"Just a sip. The waves are a bit big and I feel a little dizzy." Hope Island's Finance Minister Knona said as he put the bottle of wine in his arms.
Compared with the young man a few years ago, his belly has now become bloated, and with a beard on his face, he looks like a wealthy middle-aged man.
"If the captain catches you, you're dead." Dipper said gloatingly while looking at the nautical chart hanging on the wall.
"What happened to the previous second mate? Why did the captain suddenly ask me to go on board and take the helm? I haven't touched the steering wheel for many years." asked the former second mate Knona.
"Feuerbach is seriously injured. The captain asked him to rest for a while."
Krona sighed. He looked at the sailors busy on the deck and said, "It seems that except for some old faces, the crew has changed. Even Lily is gone. I still remember her cute look when she stood on the table and stomped her feet to argue with me."
As soon as he said this, the atmosphere in the cabin suddenly became a little depressing.
"Forget it, let's not talk about these unhappy things. I heard that your wife gave birth to another son recently?" Dipper changed the subject lightly.
When talking about his newborn child, Krona smiled faintly. "Yeah, he's really cute. You know, little Jim never wakes up when he sleeps at night, and..."
"Oh~ Forget it, forget it. I can't talk to you about this topic. Only when you really have your own child will you understand the different feeling."
While Krona was chatting with Dipper, he controlled the ship to the designated coordinates.
It takes about seven days to sail from this island to the destination. Once he finds the so-called key, his mission will be accomplished.
When the clock on the wall turned to 12 o'clock, Bandage and another old sailor entered the cockpit, and Dipper and Krona went off duty.
Without his wife's urging, Dipper didn't bother to wash.
He put his head on the pillow and closed his eyes immediately. Dipper's sleep quality was very high. Just a few seconds later, his long breathing could be heard in the room.
After an unknown amount of time, Dipper's consciousness slowly returned, and he felt as if he had returned to the City of Divers in the abyss again.
His family members were surrounding him, whispering to him. "Dipper... come quickly... the family leader wants to summon you... we need your help..."
Dipper shook his head with a frown in his sleep. He struggled desperately, but his family members clung to him tighter and tighter, and finally merged into his body.
"My dear brother... As a deep diver... you can't escape... This is our fate..."
In the dark deep sea, Dipper saw a pair of extremely terrifying scarlet eyes suddenly appear in front of him, staring at him angrily.
Dipper was so frightened that he suddenly opened his eyes. The light from the oil lamp on the table next to him quickly brought his mind back to reality.
After realizing that it was just a nightmare, the breathless Dipper breathed a sigh of relief.
He sat up in bed, took out his pocket watch and looked at it.
When he realized that he had only slept for more than three hours and was about to fall asleep again, a row of wet footprints at the door made his body tense up instantly.
Those are very special footprints. Except for deep divers, no human can leave such footprints.
Instantly, Dipper felt a chill rush to the back of his head, and he immediately stood up and rushed out of his cubicle.
There were no footprints in the corridor outside, as if those footprints appeared out of thin air.
After thinking for a moment, Dipper immediately rushed to Charles' captain's room.
As soon as he slid down the iron stairs to the third floor, he saw his captain rushing out anxiously from behind with a flesh and blood revolver in his hand.
"Boatswain, hurry up, the rat told me something has come aboard, something from the bottom of the sea, and it smells really bad."
Hearing this, Dipper's face showed a hint of bitterness, "Captain, maybe I know what those are. They are my family and they are looking for me."
Charles' expression became extremely solemn when he heard Dipper's words. He understood what the other party's words meant. This was a matter of life and death for the entire Narwhal ship.
Charles quickly rushed to the cockpit and said to the first officer at the helm: "Notify the people below, the turbine is directly overloaded! Something is following us underwater! Get rid of them immediately!"
Thick smoke billowed out of the chimney and the speed of the Narwhal increased rapidly.
Charles pushed Dipper hard and yelled, "Don't just stand there, go! Wake everyone up and tell them to pick up their weapons!"
Dipper nodded immediately and rushed out quickly.
Charles looked at the dark sea in front of him with a frown on his face. He didn't know what the other party's purpose was this time, but it was obvious that they were not here just to make friends.
