It was huge, looking about six meters tall, and looked a bit like an old hairless dog, with dense, drooping beard around its long mouth.
But an ordinary old dog doesn't float, nor does it have wriggling lumps of flesh all over its body, nor does it curl up like an old man.
There are clumps of things moving around under the loose skin, glowing green through the old skin. They feel a bit like pustules, and these pustules make its body look bloated.
Charles didn't feel like he was facing a god when facing it. Although the other party was called a god, he was just a self-proclaimed false god.
"Are you Pogro the Wise?" Charles asked.
Bogro in mid-air moved slightly, as if he was woken up by Charles.
It opened its sagging eyelids, and a few purple eye stalks emerged. "Charles..."
Bogro had a gruff voice, sounding like a middle-aged man in his forties.
Charles didn't care whether this thing was a living alien or a native of Earthsea, or anything else. He just wanted to know the other party's purpose.
"You asked me why I asked them to go there? Because I knew the darkness was over there, and they would find it if they went there."
"How should I know? Because I just know." Bogro slowly turned over in the air.
Charles was obviously not satisfied with this answer. "This concerns the survival of the entire Earthsea! Don't hide it, how did you determine that the darkness was over there, otherwise I don't believe you can do it."
Bogro's purple eye stalks slowly floated down and began to circle around Charles. "The sea is also flooding my island. I'm not kidding you. I can't explain it. Even if I tell you, you won't understand it because this kind of knowledge transcends human cognitive organs, including your brain."
Dozens of eyeballs lined up in a row, blocking Charles's way, staring at him, "If you don't believe me, I can reveal a little bit to you..."
The next second, a soft white light emitted from the eyeball instantly enveloped Charles' vision.
Piles of abstract and strange knowledge flooded into Charles' brain, and his thinking became extremely slow.
Before long, this feeling faded like the tide. When Charles regained consciousness, he found that his body sensed the danger and instinctively kept pulling the trigger at Bogro.
The gunfire stopped and Charles felt his forehead was a little wet. He wiped it with his hand and found that the blood vessels in his forehead had burst. If that feeling had lasted a few more seconds, his head would have exploded.
"What's the matter? Like I said, it's impossible to understand it with human sensory organs." There seemed to be a little pride in Bogro's voice.
Charles gasped and stared at it, "What the hell are you?"
"Governor Charles, are you here to chat with me? You don't need to care what we are. You just need to know that we are on the same side now. We are allies now."
Charles wiped the blood off his face, put away the revolver in his hand, and stared at the other person.
"I've heard this before. A guy also said that we were allies, but later I found out that he was just using me as a tool. I don't trust you."
"If you think there is a greater chance of darkness on one side, then just tell us and let us make our own judgment instead of you giving the order yourself!"
Bogro slowly floated down and placed his huge head in front of Charles. "You still want to split the power? Under the current circumstances, do humans still have any choice?"
Charles sneered, "I don't want to step into the same pit twice. I said, the Giant Pit Fortress is my territory. Any major changes must be approved by me! If you can't do it, get out and build your own airship to explore."
"If you and your freaks want to stay here and act, you must obey me!"
The air around Bogro began to tremble, its wrinkled skin began to flutter, and the atmosphere in the temple became solemn.
"You know that if I move even the slightest, your head will explode, right? An ordinary human being is no match for me." Bogro's voice was full of threats.
"Then just do it."
As soon as Charles finished speaking, the bandage on his face was instantly cut into powder, but the blood scabs on his face did not fall off at all.
The Giant Pit Fortress is the territory of human beings, and Charles is the master here. Unless this guy is crazy, he will never take action here.
The atmosphere slowly returned to normal, and the floating eye stalks quickly drilled back into its eyelids. "Go away, I'm tired, I need to rest."
Seeing that the other party had given in, Charles stopped being aggressive and turned around and left.
He knew it was risky, but he had to do it.
The situation that happened to the Pope before must never happen again. The Pope is still a human being, but these things are not even human beings. No one knows whether these things have other purposes.
They can help with exploration, and can help sense the existence of darkness through unknown means, but they must be within the control range.
Coming back under the purple light, Charles breathed a sigh of relief. After thinking for a while, he turned and walked towards the Explorers Association.
He needed to analyze all the intelligence obtained by the explorers as quickly as possible to see if there were any dark clues.
Just as he was about to enter the Explorers Association, a young man with a pale face blocked his way.
"Captain, long time no see, do you still remember me?"
Charles looked at the guy in front of him, frowning slightly, "You call me Captain? Have you been on my ship before??"
"Of course, of course, I am your former sailor." He said with a grin.
Charles looked at his face and seemed to have some impression of it but couldn't remember it. There was nothing he could do as the sailors changed too frequently. "What's the matter? Want to get back on board?"
"No, no, no, I'm just helping the mistress. She wants to talk to you in detail."
"Mistress?!" Charles suddenly remembered something. He suddenly grabbed the other's neck and used his steel prosthetic limbs to pry open his mouth, exposing the sharp blood-sucking fangs inside.
He remembered that this guy was one of the three sailors who disappeared on Dark Crystal Island before. Charles originally thought that he was completely sucked dry by the vampires on the island, but he didn't expect that this guy actually turned into a vampire.
"Ahem! Captain, I mean no harm to you. I'm just a messenger."
Severus struggled violently, and in just a moment, his neck was already bruised by Charles's strangulation, but he still didn't dare to fight back.
"Bang!" Charles threw him to the ground. "Didn't the light of the God of Light burn all of you bastards to death?"
"Captain, have you forgotten? Dark Crystal Island has a cover. The mistress was afraid that the sun would descend on the Earth Sea again, so she had already taken precautions. However, the little light that came in from the hole also burned many people to death."
