In the barren Gobi Desert, all the people who were besieging the mage gathered together. No one spoke among so many people, and their expressions were extremely solemn.
The vast canyon that appeared out of nowhere next to it is what makes the atmosphere so weird.
The joy that should have been gained from the successful encirclement and suppression was insignificant in front of this canyon. If the tentacle just now had been slightly crooked, everyone would have died, including the most powerful Julio. Human strength was nothing in front of it.
“Ahem~” The leader of the Haik tribe, a bald strong man without a nose, spoke up, “When my people came around from behind, we measured the length and it was a total of 11 nautical miles.”
Neither Charles, who was leaning against the hull, nor Julio, who was squatting on the edge of the boat, said anything.
Margaret on the side glanced at Charles, but ended up saying nothing.
“Bang!” The tall giant pounded the ground hard and roared madly: “Who the hell can tell me what that thing is!!”
The tall giant looked extremely scary when he was furious, with his blood-red gums exposed as if he wanted to eat people, but Charles knew that he was just venting his fear in the form of anger.
Julio waved his hand gently, and the flying dust returned to where it came from. He raised his head with a serious expression.
"Was that the thing that just killed the God of Light? Has he been watching us from above our heads the whole time?"
Hearing his words, everyone looked up at the purple light in the mist in the sky at the same time.
Charles recalled the strange purple color on the tentacles, and then looked at the purple light in the sky in front of him. The answer Julio wanted was self-evident.
Anna held Charles' arms with both hands, leaned her head on his shoulder and said quietly: "If the God of Light really wants to go to space, he will definitely have to fight the guys up there."
Charles touched the back of Anna's hand with his rough right hand, and then clapped his hands heavily. The clapping sound attracted everyone's attention.
"There is no time to waste. No matter what that thing is, we should not waste our time on such meaningless things."
"Bandage, use the telegram to inform the Giant Pit Fortress that no wizard is allowed to reach the surface. Order the fortress to immediately build an underground shelter inside the giant pit and prepare for possible attacks from the aerial roots."
"Anna, Margaret and Julio, go back to the surface and stabilize the situation in Earthsea."
"I will continue to explore with the Heike explorers as planned."
After everyone looked at each other for a few seconds, they finally started to do as Charles ordered.
Julio walked through the crowd and came to Charles, looking at him with a complicated expression, "Come on, leave everything down there to me. As long as the sea water doesn't flood down there, the supplies and personnel up there will be guaranteed."
If the two of them had some conflicts with each other before, now they have formed a united front in the face of this strange god. At least at this moment they are all human beings.
Just as Charles was about to walk towards his boat with Anna, Margaret, who was standing with her back to him in the distance, asked him to stop.
"You go first, I have something else to do."
Anna looked at Margaret next to her, a scornful smile appeared on her face, then she reached out and slapped him hard on the butt.
"You've been so slow. You've been going back and forth for so long. Do you think this is a TV drama? Show some of the North Sea Overlord's momentum. Put your arms around her waist and kiss her on the mouth. Women will fall for this."
When Charles turned his head to look at her, he only saw the back of her head.
"Let's go, let's have a good chat." Charles walked past Margaret and headed towards the Gobi Desert in the distance.
Looking at the familiar figure from behind, Margaret followed silently.
He turned around and looked at Margaret in front of him again. Although she hid it well, Charles still noticed her uneasiness, the same uneasiness he felt when they first met.
Charles raised his right hand to push away the long bangs that Margaret had left that covered her scar and eyes.
A horrible centipede-like scar appeared in front of Charles. "I'm sorry, I didn't know you were pretending. You don't look like you're pretending."
Margaret tilted her head slightly, and her hair slipped from Charles' hand, covering the horrible scar again.
"Don't apologize. It was Governor Julio and I who used you. Besides, I didn't stop. I was doing it for real. Julio was worried about your Deep Diver crew and your mark of Fortan."
"But it's all worth it. Those wizards in the Western Sea are time bombs. If they really explode, then everything will be over for the humans in Earthsea."
Seeing Margaret avoiding his gaze, Charles looked at her and said, "What are you hiding from? I'm not good at emotions. Let's talk about the things between us face to face now."
"I'm going back." Margaret turned around and was about to leave, but was stopped by Charles.
He used one hand to hold her in his arms, and their lips touched. Margaret's body froze instantly.
Their slippery tongues entangled with each other, but after a brief three seconds, Margaret bit down hard with her teeth, put her hands on Charles' chest, and forcefully pushed him away.
She looked ashamed and angry, and shouted to Charles with a trembling voice: "Don't forget that you are married now! Your wife is watching you!"
Charles looked at Margaret in shock, "I thought—"
"That's right! I can't let you go! But that doesn't mean I'm willing to share you with others! The glory of the Cavendish family doesn't allow me to do that! My father never taught me such a thing!!"
"Stop doing such self-deprecating things. I don't want you to do this for me."
After Margaret finished speaking, she immediately turned and walked towards the crowd in the distance.
When the somewhat confused Charles returned to the deck of his ship, he saw Anna covering the chimney and laughing so hard that she could hardly stand up.
"Did you know that she would do this, so you gave me this bad idea?" Charles asked with a hint of doubt.
Just now Charles was a little puzzled as to why Anna reacted like this, but now it seems that she already knew what was in Margaret's mind.
Anna wiped away the tears of laughter from the corners of her eyes with her fingers, walked over, hugged Charles' head and gave him a big kiss.
Charles reached out and patted his back heavily. He saw Margaret in the distance jump onto the body of the "King" and start heading towards the Giant Pit Fortress.
"Oh, my son is feeling wronged because he failed to express his feelings. Come, let mommy hug you and comfort you~"
Charles rolled his eyes at her speechlessly. "Okay, now that you've had enough fun, it's time to go back. When you get back, please take care of Margaret. She's in our camp now."
"Do I need you to tell me that? Of course. Don't you think Margaret is more attractive now? To be honest, I kind of like her."
