Shrouded Seascape

Chapter 604: foundation

Views:

All the crew members of the Narwhal were stunned. They looked at the dozen or so people in front of them who looked exactly like Feuerbach in amazement.

“This… What on earth is going on…?” Looking at the military helicopter behind them and the heavy space suits they were wearing, Charles immediately thought of Feuerbach’s modern pistol at the time.

Then he had a terrible guess in his mind. He raised his metal finger and pointed it at the captain of Feuerbach in front of him.

"You are from the Foundation? You are clone soldiers?"

Feuerbach once said that he was a spy sent by a certain organization to monitor the Pope. When all these clues were laid out before him, it was impossible for Charles not to understand that they were the foundations that disappeared in the long river of time.

"Where are they? I want to see your GK Council!"

Hearing the other party's words, the captain shook his head. "We don't want to conflict with you. Now we must take the darkness back."

"Wait, do you know how to bring it back?" Charles' heart tightened. He had been thinking about how to bring the darkness back, and it turned out that the Foundation had a way.

Before the clones could answer, a loud explosion was heard in the air, and a helicopter emitting thick smoke spiraled down from the sky.

"Boom!!" Flames shot up into the sky, thick smoke billowed, and the heat wave dried Charles' face.

This was just the beginning. Fire began to rain from the sky, and planes of various models fell to the ground like firebirds.

"Avoid!! Avoid quickly!" Charles led his crew members to retreat frantically towards the dark outside world.

The change before their eyes was beyond everyone's expectations. They could not care less now and could only dodge quickly, fearing that the thing would hit their heads.

Charles shouted to the captain next to him while running: "How many of you are here?"

"Three motherships! Four squadrons!! I heard there will be more reinforcements later, but I don't know about the others."

Before he could finish, an explosion sounded from the left and a helicopter crashed not far from them.

When he heard the whistling sound approaching quickly, Charles tensed up and crawled on the ground subconsciously. A black object passed over his head.

When he quickly turned over and stood up from the ground, he found that Feuerbach, with whom he had just talked, was left with only half of his body standing there. He swayed a few times and then fell weakly to the ground.

Following the blood trail, Charles saw a three-meter-long propeller blackened by smoke stuck in the mud in the distance.

This is what was blown over just now, directly cutting Feuerbach in half.

He raised his head and looked at the "fireworks" falling in the dark sky. The scene was both spectacular and tragic. Behind each firework were dozens of lives.

"What on earth did they encounter up there? With the strength of the Foundation, how could there be such heavy casualties?" This thought emerged in Charles' mind.

Facing the fireworks of metal and fire, Charles and the others finally got out of the darkness. They docked the Narwhal far away in the mud and watched everything in the distance.

Everyone was still in shock and felt lucky to have survived the dangerous situation.

The Foundation's flying machines seemed to have all been lost, and the huge dark wall returned to darkness, without any firelight anymore.

The crew members stood on the deck in groups of three or five, discussing anxiously what was on top.

Charles turned around and looked at Wu Weifelbach who was standing near the cabin door. They seemed to be adjusting their headphones and communicating something.

"Well, Foundation, we've only seen dead people before, but I didn't expect to see living ones today. Let's go and talk to them." Charles said and walked towards them.

The other crew members also gathered around when they saw this scene.

Feeling the other party's actions, they subconsciously drew the weapons at their waists, but with Charles's slight wave of his hand, the weapons in their hands were thrown aside.

"You don't look like combat members of the Foundation. Are you peripheral auxiliary staff?" Charles asked them.

"We are an engineering team, indigenous people, and we have no ill intentions."

"Why are you going up there? Is bringing back darkness directly related to going up there?"

Faced with Charles' question, the other party didn't seem to want to answer.

"It's the end of the world, and this is your attitude?" Charles frowned slightly.

He pointed his iron finger at their Feuerbach faces one by one, "I tell you, you are standing on my ship now, put away your arrogant tricks!"

"If you really want to use force, I have plenty of ways to know what's going on in your mind."

After hearing Charles's slightly threatening words, Feuerbach exchanged views and one of them stepped forward.

"Our goal is the same as yours, to bring the darkness back. Going up there is an order from headquarters. I personally guess that this is the case."

"How to bring the darkness back? Do you know the specific steps?" Charles' heart couldn't help but hang in the air.

"We are from the engineering department. We don't know much about other situations. It's useless for you to ask us."

"Then let's change the question. Why doesn't the Foundation contact the people of Earthsea? Why doesn't it help them improve their technology?"

"In this situation, shouldn't we use all the power of mankind? And where is your headquarters in the Earthsea now? Why haven't I seen you show up before?"

In response to Charles' questioning, they fell silent, their eyes clearly filled with vigilance.

Seeing that they didn't say anything, Charles didn't intend to beat around the bush with them.

"Anna, come here. We met some people from the Foundation here. See if there is anything valuable in their memories."

As a huge organization on the former island of hope for mankind, the Foundation possesses all the heritage of humans on the surface, but they have no contact with the people of the Earthsea at all, which makes Charles very confused.

He has been in this sea for nearly ten years and has never found any trace of the Foundation. This is very abnormal.

The Foundation claims that everything is for all mankind, but now they don't provide much help to the people of Earthsea. Has their purpose changed?

"Ah~ Foundation, these guys are so lucky that they can survive the attack of gods." Anna appeared next to Charles, looking at Feuerbach and others with curiosity in her eyes.
