Shrouded Seascape

Chapter 606: spaceship

In the deep dark sky, Charles flapped his wings vigorously and led the crew to climb higher and higher altitudes.

Everyone held their weapons tightly with caution.

As a person with dark vision, Charles was the first to see the floating island suspended in mid-air.

Looking up from below, the irregular islands appear very oppressive, making people hold their breath.

In the air, except for the sound of Charles and his friends flapping their wings, there was no other sound and it was very quiet.

The current silence is in stark contrast to the Foundation's previous rain of fire from the sky.

After arriving above the island and quietly circling it, Charles discovered that the area of this island in the sky seemed to be about the same size as Hope Island.

The light that was supposed to be in the photo did not appear on the island; it was off.

Odrick rushed down first, and after confirming a safe point, Charles led the others down.

The surface of the floating island is very rough, unlike the soil underneath. There are rocks of different sizes standing on it, making it look like a stone forest.

Judging from the topography, this island in the sky did not rise from below, so it is hard to say whether this news is good or bad.

At Lily's squeaking, the mice quickly dispersed and began to explore the surroundings.

They hid beside a car-sized rock and waited for the mouse to return. Here, Charles did not dare to turn on the lights, for fear that the strong light would attract some unnecessary things.

Everyone's eyes were intentionally or unintentionally not looking upwards, as if there was something terrifying in the darkness above.

Dipper almost fell to the ground, quickly checking every detail. His previous career made him very good at investigation.

"Captain, there are no signs of any living creatures moving around here. The Foundation you mentioned has definitely never been here. We don't know if there are any living creatures here."

Charles raised his head and looked at the dark sky above. "I hope there are living things, at least living things that I can touch and feel."

To be honest, if it was really a creature with flesh and blood, no matter how powerful it was, he would not be nervous. At least it was not beyond the scope of human understanding.

If the owner of the huge purple root is crawling on this island, that would be fun.

After Dipper walked around for a long time, he heard a rustling sound and the mice came back.

After Lily quickly translated, she looked up at Charles and said, "Mr. Charles, four are missing. They found a large smoking ship."

"The smoking ship? They didn't find anything else besides this one?"

Lily squeaked at the mice again. She tilted her head and thought for a while before saying, "Well... they said that after seeing the big ship, they came back to report the news and did not go anywhere else. This island is very big, and it would take them a very long time to run around it."

"Lead the way, take us to see it." Charles said, grabbing Lily in his hands and following the mice forward.

The rugged ground was very difficult to walk on, but fortunately the place was not far away. After a while, Charles smelled a pungent smell similar to burning rubber.

After passing a huge rock, Charles saw the source of the stench. It was the tail of a battleship that was dissolving into the ground. Judging from its specifications, this aerial battleship was at least several hundred meters long.

It was still sinking, as if the floating island was swallowing it.

Looking at the technological creation in front of him, Charles remembered the "mothership" mentioned by a Feuerbach.

"Squeak, squeak, squeak" Charles' prosthetic limb switched to a chainsaw and started to move.

He used the chainsaw to press against the plank and began to cut. When the two came into contact, no sparks flew, but instead, unsmelly white smoke came out.

This thing doesn't look like it's made of metal. Although it's not metal, its texture is harder than ordinary metal, and it is very difficult to cut even with Charles' chainsaw.

"Pay attention to your surroundings in case something else comes to attack us!" Charles said to the crew.

The other crew members nodded at the same time, holding their weapons and looking around vigilantly at the darkness. In this situation, no one knew what else was going on.

After cutting for about five minutes, he finally made a narrow incision. He took out his eyeball with his right hand and threw it in.

The black and red spider quickly stretched out its limbs and crawled inside along the smooth wall.

The inside looked very clean, with no signs of damage or explosion. Judging from the situation, the huge flying object had not been attacked.

The space inside the spacecraft is very spacious, and the overall color is white and blue. Like an ordinary exploration ship, it is made up of one hatch at a time.

"Strange, where are the people from the foundation?" Charles thought about this question while looking at the scenery in front of him.

He had searched several cabins and found no Foundation members, not even a corpse.

He now urgently needs a Foundation tongue, whether it is to connect with them or to warn them, this is very necessary.

"Swish~" A door opened again, and Charles controlled the spider to walk in.

This is a bedroom. Judging from the decoration, it is feminine. There are several stuffed dolls next to the pillow.

"There is still no one here. Nothing is missing except people. This shouldn't happen. So many plane crashes before must have been caused by some kind of attack." Charles muttered to himself.

After a quick look around and finding nothing unusual, Charles prepared to go out. However, just as he controlled the spider to walk to the door, he immediately felt someone looking at him from behind.

He turned around quickly, but found nothing behind him.

But Charles instinctively felt that something was wrong. Long-term life-and-death adventures made him very sensitive to other people's gazes. It was not an illusion, it meant someone was watching him.

The spider arched its back slightly, raising its eyeballs to allow Charles to see more clearly.

He glanced around the house and suddenly noticed that the stuffed animal that was supposed to be next to the pillow had moved.

Those pairs of plastic eyes were staring straight at him; it was these stuffed toys that were watching him!

The next second, they all floated up at the same time. A translucent creature similar to jelly came out from the wall. Its wriggling neck was connected to the dolls. Five or six colorful dolls were constantly swinging in the air like its head.

Its body is translucent, and its lower body is made up of muscular blocks that are tangled like a plant, with two sets of tentacles extending outward at the bottom.

This was some kind of special creature. No, Charles couldn't even tell whether it was a creature or not. The only thing he could feel was that it had noticed him. Not just the spider, but also the real body behind it.
