Shrouded Seascape

Chapter 69: The Narwhal

Views:

Looking at the endless strange creatures, the crew of the Narwhal finally realized the seriousness of the situation, and they all ran as fast as they could to follow their captain.

The next second, everyone heard the extremely miserable pleading voice behind them.

"Don't leave! Kill me! Please, my body has to feel the pain of a knife every moment! Why! Why am I the only one who has to suffer this kind of pain!"

As the sound rang out, Charles's newly installed left ear began to move again.

While running, Charles quickly glanced behind him. The 1002 that should have been in the water tank had come out. It condensed into a ball and rolled towards them. Any living thing around it that came into contact with it would be swallowed up instantly.

Every time a living creature was devoured, the light gray ball grew a little bigger.

Without even thinking, Charles reached out and pulled out a pack of explosives from the bag on Dipper's back, lit it, and threw it hard behind him.

But the ignited explosive pack rolled over on the ground a few times, extinguished the fuse, and then stood up staggeringly. It was also activated by 1002!

This was just the beginning. Everything dead on the crew members began to shake, and they had their own thoughts.

Charles knew that he couldn't go on like this. If he continued like this, no one would be able to escape. He gritted his teeth, stood still, and ran back towards 1002.

"Charles! Come back soon!"

"Captain! What are you doing!?"

Amidst everyone's exclamations, Charles was only a dozen meters away from 1002. His facial features twisted and began to separate, and his face began to resemble those torsos.

Charles tried his best, took out the lightning staff and pointed it hard at 1002. The electric arc illuminated the dim island again, and 1002 turned into a charred ball of meat and stopped in place.

Charles fell to the ground, trembling all over. After receiving three electric shocks in a row, his body could no longer bear it.

Several big hands reached out and helped Charles up. They were Charles' crew members. They did not take this opportunity to escape, but ran back to help their captain.

"Captain, you are awesome! With such a powerful relic, why didn't you use it earlier?" the second mate asked excitedly.

"Go! This thing can't be killed, it will wake up again soon!" Charles said while trying to hold back the pain.

When the second mate heard this, he looked at the black giant ball in fear, and hurriedly supported the numb Charles to evacuate quickly.

Fortunately, the ruins were not very large, and Charles and others finally rushed back to the forest before 1002 was resurrected.

They followed the road ahead and quickly headed towards the seaside.

Along the way, Charles and others did not stop for a moment, and everyone used all their strength to escape.

In order to escape quickly, everyone threw away everything they could.

"Bang!" The doctor, soaked in sweat, fell to the ground, gasping for breath. Blood had already begun to ooze out from the place where his iron leg met his flesh.

Charles rushed over and helped him up, "Don't give up! We're almost there!"

The doctor glanced at the young man who was supporting him, took out a pill from his pocket and swallowed it. He pushed Charles away and quickly caught up with the main group. "I'm not old yet!"

The short forest path seemed to have no end. They walked as fast as they could, using all their strength. When everyone had almost exhausted all their physical strength, the sound of waves like the sound of nature reached their ears.

The crew members, with ecstasy on their faces, stumbled to their ship and began to prepare to board the ship and leave this ghost island.

"Who are you? No matter who you are, kill me now, I am in so much pain!!"

Charles, with an extremely ugly expression on his face, turned his head and saw a huge flying object made of various flesh and blood flying towards this side rapidly above the woods.

That was 1002, but not entirely. Eyes, mouths, internal organs, and various human organs were floating up and down on its light gray body, making people feel sick and want to vomit at just one glance.

At this time, the size of 1002 has expanded to nearly five times the size in the water tank, flying in the air like a giant airplane.

Feeling his body trembling more and more, even Charles felt a trace of despair in his heart at this moment. The range of the activated radiation of 1002 became larger again.

He could feel something in his throat about to surge out, his body was about to come alive, and the other crew members also fell to the ground in pain.

At this critical moment, an explosion suddenly sounded, and the deformed body of 1002 was blown apart and fell into the forest. The despairing trembling of the body instantly subsided a lot.

"Hurry! Go!"

Taking advantage of this opportunity, Charles and others quickly rowed the boats and drove them closer to the ship. The sound of artillery fire in the air provided them with cover.

"Captain, did we leave anyone on the ship? Who fired the cannon? It was so accurate!" said the excited second mate.

"Woo~~!!" the whistle of the steamship sounded, and the Narwhal, which was far away on the seashore, approached the coast. That was the deck gun of the Narwhal.

Charles paused and said slowly: "There is no one on the ship..."

The second mate was stunned. "There was no one on board, who fired the cannon?"

Looking at the rapidly approaching Narwhal, Charles patted the smooth hull with his hands in relief. "It was our ship that fired the cannon. It is also one of our companions."

As if hearing Charles' words, the Narwhal issued a low whistle and was also activated by 1002.

Standing on the deck, watching the crying 1002 crawling out of the woods again, Charles' heart slowly settled down. Finally, everything was over.

"No, no, it's not over yet." Charles looked at his pocket which had stopped moving.

Charles reached out his hand and then retracted it. He was afraid that if he opened it, he would see a horrifying scene.

The pocket moved by itself, and a cute white mouse head popped out of it, looking a little confused. "Mr. Charles, why are we on the boat? What happened just now?"

Charles, feeling relieved, touched her head with his hand and said, "It's okay. It's all over."

Just when Charles was about to comfort his little gunner, Elizabeth came closer with a nervous expression. "Have we slept together since we first met?"

This question caught Charles off guard, and Lily tactfully put her hand back into her pocket.

Facing Elizabeth's aggressive gaze, Charles looked away, "Why are you asking this question? You haven't explained why you are alone on this island."

Elizabeth didn't say anything. She seemed to be suppressing some emotion. There was no relaxed expression on her face. She looked even more nervous than when she was on the island just now.
