Shrouded Seascape

Chapter 81: disappear

Although the atmosphere was a bit depressing, the crew members were still emotionally stable. The current environment was at most a bit creepy, and compared to the previous island, it was not the worst situation.

Charles, sitting on the rock, is talking to Richard in his head.

"I guess there's not much hope for this island. It doesn't look like there will be sunshine."

"Of course not. This place stinks. If I were the one repairing the exit, I wouldn't repair this one."

"Let's finish exploring first. Maybe the King deliberately hid the supply island like this."

"Oh? If they really came to this island, does that mean there are relics here too?"

"Stop making trouble. Wasn't the lesson from last time enough?"

"What am I making a fuss about? Isn't this to improve our strength? Aren't we able to survive until now only because of the power of the relic?"

"The side effects of each relic are extremely powerful. Simply having more relics won't make us stronger."

At this moment, Dipper's voice interrupted their conversation. They turned their heads at the same time and saw their boatswain taking out a cylindrical object from his backpack.

"Haha! I brought this with me too. I thought I forgot about it."

Seeing the looks from his companions, Dipper showed off proudly: "This is something new from the British Isles, look at it."

He pressed a red button on it, and a blinding white light shot straight into the fog. "This is a flashlight, a movable light. How about it? You've never seen one before, Captain. What are you laughing at? And you see, this thing can also adjust the size of the beam of light."

As Dipper rotated the aperture of the flashlight, the white light quickly gathered and was held in the boy's hand like a lightsaber.

The boy was also playful and kept gesturing with the flashlight, with the beam of light sweeping through the confusion.

Charles looked at the light, the smile on his face gradually disappeared. This thing might really work. Not only was it more durable than a torch, but it was also durable to store and had strong penetrability in this kind of thick fog. In his mind, he planned to include this thing in the supplies he would purchase for his next adventure.

"Ah!!" Lily, who was standing behind Charles, suddenly screamed in horror.

"What's wrong?" Charles led her to him.

"That... over there, there's a face! When the beam of light swept over just now, there was a face."

Charles put his feet on the stone and rushed towards the direction Lily pointed. The sound of bullets being loaded could be heard from behind, and the crew followed.

They quickly passed through the fog and found the big face in Lily's mouth, only to discover that it was not a person, but a painting on the wall.

It is more like a child's clumsy doodle than a painting. Although the painting skills are sloppy, the emotions that the painting wants to express are conveyed.

It was a naked human being who was desperately strangling his own neck, with an expression of pain that was about to burst out. This appearance, coupled with the scribbled graffiti, looked particularly weird.

"Mr. Charles, who drew this?" Lily asked, hiding her head in his clothes.

"I would rather know who built this wall than this painting."

Charles touched the solid wall with his hand. The thick fog blocked his vision and he could not see how high and wide the wall was.

He tried it with the black blade and found that the wall was very strong, almost as hard as cement.

"Let's go, walk along the wall and take a look." Charles led the crew to move again.

The fire slowly disappeared from the painting, and the horrifying portrait suddenly twisted and moved. Soon, more miserable graffiti emerged from the wall. They opened their mouths and howled silently, entangled with each other, and the whole wall was quickly filled with them, blending into the darkness.

Charles walked along the wall for nearly two hours and finally reached the end of the wall. There suddenly appeared a wide opening, which was completely shrouded in fog and it was impossible to see what was inside.

Fortunately, Charles had added a lot of new props this time which came in handy at this moment. He took out a mirror box from his backpack, ordered the vampire to fly away, and then opened the mirror box directly.

The dazzling sunlight instantly dispelled the thick fog, and everyone present was shocked by the scene before them.

I saw that in the wide opening of the wall, several walls intersected with each other in the distance, forming an extremely huge maze in the wet fog.

Each wall is extremely high and wide, as if this maze was built for giants who are hundreds of meters tall. Just standing by and watching makes you feel terrified.

The warm light slowly faded, and the walls disappeared into the mist again.

After a long time, a harsh friction sound was heard, and Charles raised the black blade and drew an arrow on the wall.

"Let's go!" He raised his foot and walked into the fog.

The atmosphere became increasingly depressing. Anyone could see that this place was very dangerous and no one wanted to die, so everyone was on high alert.

Although Charles and his team were on high alert, they had entered the maze for some time and nothing unusual had occurred.

The fact that there were no abnormalities now only proved that the danger had not yet appeared. Charles really disliked this feeling of waiting and his spirit was extremely tense.

There were no stones to rest on in the maze, and Charles' feet gradually became numb from the cold. He took out his pocket watch and looked at the time, and found that they had been in the maze for almost two hours.

After taking a look at the sewage on the ground, Charles drew an arrow on the wall, turned around and said to the crew, "Explore for another half an hour. If there is still no discovery, we will stop here today and return to the ship to rest before setting off again."

Hearing this, everyone, including the doctor, breathed a sigh of relief at the same time. This kind of place was really hard to like.

Time passed little by little, and when half an hour was about to pass, Charles suddenly swung the black blade in his hand, and the blade pierced directly into the water with an afterimage. Then Charles kicked his feet and followed closely. He grabbed the handle of the knife in the water and lifted it hard, but found that there was nothing on the blade.

This time it was Richard rather than Charles who took action.

"What did you find?" Charles asked in his mind.

"I just saw ripples on the water, and I thought there was something in the water. Strange, is it because I am dazzled?"

Charles probed the water with the black blade and found nothing but a pile of mud.

He stood up and checked the time. "Let's go back. Half an hour has passed. Come back after you've rested."

Everyone was relieved and turned to leave. However, when Charles checked the number of people again, a drop of cold sweat dripped down his face.

"Wait a minute everyone!! The first mate is missing!"
