"Lasto, thank you for introducing the business to me." The stuffed bear puppet walked through the candles and nodded at the drinking doctor with its bear head with cotton sticking out everywhere.
"Stop talking nonsense and hurry up." The doctor walked to the old woman's chair with an impatient look on his face and lay down.
The bear puppet turned his head to Charles next to him. "Young man, can you squat down? How can I measure your size if you stand like this?"
This kind of experience was really the first time for Charles. He never thought that the mysterious magic could be used in this aspect. No wonder the doctor just said that this guy could make a prosthesis for himself on Black Leaf Island.
The bear puppet first took out a pair of scissors from its belly and cut open the empty sleeve of Charles' left arm, and then took out a tape measure.
"I heard that you kidnapped Rasto onto the ship? Can you tell me how you did it? He doesn't seem like someone who would move easily." The bear puppet kept talking while measuring the severed limb with a tape measure.
"You know him?"
"Yes, of course I know him. Did you see his face? I drew that. If you want to know anything about him, you can ask me. I know him well."
"Cough, cough!" The doctor in the chair cleared his cough.
Charles glanced at him and ignored the bear puppet's conversation.
Ten minutes later, the bear puppet stopped, put the tape measure into his stomach, and said to Charles again: "Since you are the captain of the exploration ship, do you need to add other weapons to your prosthesis?"
Charles recalled the doctor's prosthetic limbs, with different medical devices in each finger.
“What can be added without affecting sensitivity?”
"That's a lot. Guns, poison gas, universal lock picks, whatever you want. Of course, these modifications are charged extra. You have to have enough money in your pocket."
After briefly understanding the prices of various structures, Charles finally chose to add a chainsaw and a harpoon to his prosthesis. These two are the most common but most suitable for him at present.
As for the others, it’s not that Charles doesn’t want them, but just one arm costs 3 million. If he doesn’t use his 5 million sparingly, there might not be enough fuel for the Narwhal’s next voyage.
Taking the check with its broken paw, the bear puppet carefully counted the zeros several times, then carefully put the check into its stomach. "Very good, your prosthesis will arrive soon."
"How long will it take exactly?"
"I have your data now. I still have some left-hand stock. I'll go back and adjust it and send it to you right away. Lasto told me about you. Since you are his friend, you are also my friend. How can I not pay attention to my friend's affairs?"
As soon as the bear puppet finished speaking, its body went limp and fell to the ground, not moving at all.
The old lady next to her moved over and put the doll on the ground into her cloth bag.
Then, she lay on the ground, holding a short-handled mop made of rags, and carefully wiped the magic circle on the ground.
After the magic circle on the ground was cleared, the old lady began to draw a new magic circle again. The magic circle was bigger and more complicated than the previous one, and this time there was a box in the center of the magic circle.
Thinking back to what the teddy bear had said, Charles calmed down and waited patiently. From what had just happened, he already knew how his prosthesis would be delivered.
The old woman chanted an obscure spell that was different from the previous one. The magic circle on the ground began to emit a faint light and continued to wriggle like life.
When the spell wore off, all the strangeness in the room disappeared, the box opened, and the old lady walked towards Charles with the silver arm.
Just like all boys like guns, Charles fell in love with the prosthetic limb the first time he saw it.
There are several metal threaded cones at the front of the prosthesis, and it seems to be hollow inside.
"Put your hand over here. What are you standing there for? This thing is very heavy." The old lady complained.
"Bear with it." The doctor on the chair suddenly raised his head and reminded.
Charles took a deep breath and pressed the broken part of his arm against the prosthesis. The metal spikes on the prosthesis instantly spun, flesh splashed, and the spikes drilled into his flesh like a living thing. The intense pain made him tremble all over.
When the prosthetic limb stopped moving, Charles, with sweat on his forehead, raised his new left arm and found that it showed no signs of moving at all.
"Young man, why are you in such a hurry? We are still missing something." The old lady slowly took out two glass jars from the cloth bag.
The glass jar seemed to be filled with some kind of green smoke, which was constantly rolling inside.
Seeing the confusion on Charles' face, the old lady smiled and picked up the jar and shook it. As it was shaken, the green smoke inside changed, and a screaming green human face was faintly visible.
"Hehehe, you haven't seen it before, this is a human soul, used to connect your soul with this hand."
With a "click", the jar was opened and the green smoke inside quickly floated into the prosthesis.
When the green smoke completely melted in, the gears inside Charles' prosthesis began to turn with a click.
As the purple inscription on the gear lit up faintly, Charles felt his left hand again.
Charles opened and clenched his hands, his prosthetic limbs moving swiftly in accordance with his thoughts.
The old lady handed over a booklet, and said kindly, as if she was handing candy to a child, "Here, this is the instruction manual. Remember to drip whale oil according to the time listed. If there is any problem with your hand, you can come to me and I will send it back for you to have them repaired."
Looking at the empty glass jar in her hand, Charles took the booklet with a complicated expression and walked towards the exit with the doctor who had stood up.
On the street in the port area, Charles is experimenting with his new left hand.
"Clang!" The ferocious serrated chain popped out from his wrist, and as Charles' heart moved, the chain began to spin rapidly.
Charles could tell the terrifying power of this thing just by looking at the amazing speed of the chain. He even felt that its cutting strength was stronger than that of the black blade.
"Click, click, click." Charles watched his left palm spin open, and a harpoon with a chain instantly popped out from it and shot onto the chimney of the opposite building.
Charles's heart moved, the gears inside the prosthesis kept turning, the chains contracted, pulling him quickly towards the roof.
With this thing, he would be able to move even in places where he couldn't gain any leverage.
These were not the biggest surprises. Charles was more surprised at the sensitivity of the prosthesis. He reached out with his left hand, and the black blade flew up and down as his fingers turned, leaving behind a trail of afterimages.
As expected of something worth 3 million echoes, this prosthetic limb is even more sensitive than his original hand.
