Chapter 98: Imprisonment

Views:

After an unknown amount of time, Charles woke up.

The first thing he did when he woke up was to look around vigilantly.

The humanoid monster had disappeared, and his position had also been changed. He was locked up in a cell that looked only ten square meters. There was nothing else in the room except a heavy iron door in the distance.

Everything on him was taken away, including his wallet, belongings, and clothes. Charles was now naked.

Charles could still see blood oozing from the place where his prosthesis was connected to his body, as if someone had tried to tear the prosthesis off while he was unconscious, but failed.

Through this information, Charles quickly understood his current situation. He was captured by those strange creatures.

Although he didn't want to admit it, this was a good thing. The other party locked him up and didn't kill Charles, which proved that the other party was communicable.

After figuring out some things, Charles stood up and asked the empty room: "Is anyone there? What is your goal? Where are my crew members?"

But there was no other sound in the room except Charles' breathing, and no one responded.

Charles walked towards the iron gate and looked outside through the gap in the iron bars. He found that there seemed to be a cell right opposite.

Just as Charles was about to ask who was imprisoned in the cell over there, a large deformed face blocked his view, looking inside with its yellow cross-shaped pupils.

The space in the prisoner fence was too small, and Charles could not distinguish the specific appearance of this thing, but he felt that this guy was in cahoots with the monster who disguised himself as a doctor.

"Maybe there is some misunderstanding between us. I have no ill intentions coming here. I just want to talk to you." Charles explained slowly to those eyes.

"Bang!" An iron plate blocked Charles' vision. No matter what the other party was, it had no intention of talking to Charles.

Looking at the not-too-thick iron door in front of him, Charles raised his prosthetic limb but put it down again. If he really wanted to get out of this door, he could definitely get out.

However, now that we don't know who is the enemy or not, any rash action will only alert the enemy.

Charles slowly sat down with his back against the wall. All he could do now was wait.

Six hours later, a window opened under the iron door and a metal disc with a diameter of half a meter was pushed in, containing a pool of blood and flesh.

Charles didn't understand whether this was to give him food or what, but looking at the appearance of that thing, he would rather starve than eat it.

An hour later, another metal plate was brought in. This time it contained a dead fish. Judging from the brightness of the fish's eyes, the fish was very fresh and had died not long ago.

Charles judged that the monsters saw that he didn't eat the previous one, so they changed his food.

But from this detail, he learned more. Since the other party knew that they had not eaten, there must be surveillance in this cell.

Faced with those dead fish, Charles remained motionless, and soon the next plate of food was brought over.

However, this time, when Charles saw clearly what was on the plate, his heart trembled. There was half a human face in it, and below it were lungs connected to the trachea.

He rushed over quickly and picked up the face. He knew this guy. He was Chef Frey's assistant, and those were his crew members.

Charles was burning with anger. Not only were his crew members killed by them, but they were also sent to him as food!

Charles couldn't help but want to rush out and kill all the deformed monsters that were outside the door.

Charles gritted his teeth, picked up the dead fish next to him and bit it hard, staring at the door with hatred in his eyes.

After Charles finished eating the fish, no other strange things were brought in.

Soon, an arm like a mummy took away the plates. While they were collecting the plates, Charles tried to communicate with the creatures outside, but it was in vain. The other party still had no intention of talking.

The first day of imprisonment passed like this. During this day, Charles also noticed other details. His keen hearing allowed him to easily identify the duty hours of the monsters outside. They changed shifts every half a day.

From this point, we can see that those monsters are very social creatures. But this is not good news. If these monsters live in groups, then God knows how many monsters are outside this cell. It is harder to escape from this place than to climb to the sky.

But no matter how difficult it was, Charles did not give up his plan to escape.

The next day, when he heard the footsteps fading away quickly, he picked up the fish bones that had been prepared nearby and quickly threw them directly into the cell opposite.

"Hello, this is Charles. Answer me quickly. Who is locked up over there?"

Soon there was a reaction in the cage. A translucent jellyfish-like tentacle filled with green mucus stretched out from the cell and reached towards Charles. It crossed a very wide distance and came into Charles' cell.

Charles looked at the tentacles in front of him, hesitated for a moment, and then put the prosthesis on it.

However, at the moment the two came into contact, the tentacle split directly in the middle, turning into a large mouth full of transparent sharp teeth, biting Charles' prosthesis and pulling it out with force.

The tentacle was so powerful, almost as strong as several adults, that it pulled Charles' entire body against the door.

The chainsaw of the prosthetic limb started instantly, and the translucent tentacle was cut off. As a beast-like roar came from the cell opposite, the severed tentacle desperately escaped.

Charles looked at the still twisting tentacles in his hands, thinking. This damn place was not only holding them.

Soon the deformed monsters on duty came back again. Charles didn't dare to act rashly. He had to find an opportunity.

On the third day, the iron gate was opened. This time no fish was delivered, but several deformed monsters came in. Charles looked at them and could clearly feel that they were the same kind as before.

Charles hadn't looked carefully before, but this time he finally saw the appearance of the creature that was imprisoning him.

The fish-like eyes had cross-shaped yellow pupils, and the melting faces had soft lips that were at least 20 centimeters long. Their bodies were covered in blood and flesh. It felt as if their skin had been torn off and then put back on.

Even though they look so scary, each of them is wearing a dirty leather robe.

"Who are you? What is your purpose?" Charles asked them cautiously.

The monsters in front of him began to tremble with their long lips rapidly, making noisy sounds similar to switching radio stations. They seemed to be communicating with Charles, but unfortunately they couldn't communicate in the same language.
