The Azure Longsword

Chapter 306: Fall

After Christmas, the trenches outside the city finally fell completely.

A large number of civilians were evacuated to the inner city, which was originally a quarantine zone, while the outer city was occupied by militia. The barricades that had been built had shooting holes set up and corresponding weapons installed.

Everyone was waiting for the Wolf family to attack the city, but the other side's attack was slow to come.

It seems like it's still waiting for an opportunity.

Late that night, on Hearth Island, Peggy was writing in her diary when the "Scarlet Diary" next to her suddenly began to flutter without wind.

"Ask!" She rushed to Ask's bedroom with the diary in her arms and woke him up. "Master said that the Wolf family borrowed a vehicle-mounted rocket launcher from the Vatican!"

Rocket launcher... Ask was speechless, this is too cruel. Saturation artillery fire

He quickly took Peggy away from Hearth Island.

When the two were teleported back to reality, they heard a sudden scream outside the window.

The person in charge of keeping the books today was Medea. She sat up from the bed, stunned by the loud noise outside.

"Go back." Ask said briefly.

Medea hummed and was immediately teleported to Hearthfire Island.

The two rushed out of the hotel and saw a chaotic crowd of people running outside. A trail like a meteor streaked across the night sky, setting off raging fire and explosions everywhere in the city.

"Let's go!" said Ask.

"Where to?" Peggy asked.

"Looking for Alfred," said Ask.

As the saying goes, a cunning rabbit has three burrows. As Alfred has a history of running away, Ask doesn't believe that this guy doesn't have a way to escape.

Sure enough, on the street near the military camp, the two saw Alfred and his subordinates hurriedly heading towards the Inn River.

The Inn River originates from the Alps and runs from west to east through the northern part of Innsbruck. When the two arrived at the city wall, they saw Alfred having the river gates lifted.

"Ask?" Alfred was startled when he saw the person coming, and then he immediately said seriously, "I am following the order of the Count of Innsbruck and will leave the city to carry out a secret mission."

"What a coincidence." Ask said with a smile, "I also received an order from the Earl to go out of the city to carry out a secret mission."

"Are you going to carry out the same mission?" Peggy wondered.

"Of course not." Ask hit her head, signaling her not to talk too much. "Then, Sir Alfred, let's go out of the city together."

"Okay." Alfred naturally wouldn't make a big fuss with him at this time, so he smiled knowingly and waved in the direction of the river.

The river lock was lifted, and at the same time, Alfred's men rowed a small boat (sampan) from upstream. Everyone jumped on the boat and pushed hard on the shore, pushing the boat through the river lock.

There was no danger in this section of the river leading out of the city. Because there were trenches all over the city, tonight the soldiers of the Wolf family were either defending the rocket launcher positions, guarding against the city's troops from counterattacking, or patrolling in the trenches.

Alfred's men pulled up the sails on the boat, covering the entire surface of the boat, leaving only a gap. They lay down and hid under the boat, pretending that it was a small boat that had forgotten to tie the ropes, and let it drift down the river.
