"I don't understand, Holy See," Bishop Varian said, "Why can the enemy corrupt Bishop Schrank? I mean, although I am not familiar with Bishop Schrank, his reputation in the Vatican is obvious to all. He doesn't seem like a corrupt guy who can be bribed."

"If it is a supernatural power, why didn't Raphael detect it before? Is it really the Antichrist as they say?"

"Sir Varian." Innocent leaned against the railing, holding a pipe in his hand. "Would you like a cigarette?"

"Thank you, I've quit smoking."

Innocent put the tobacco into his pipe, lit it, and took a slow puff:

"Raphael is not omnipotent." He exhaled a puff of smoke and said, "At least it can't monitor us from where we are standing."

"Can't be monitored? You mean..."

"Raphael is a program." Innocent knocked on the railing. "No matter how smart it is, it is still a program. If it is a program, there will inevitably be omissions. The only difference is whether it is discovered or not."

"Every generation of Raphael has been maintained by professional algorithm engineers. In the middle of the Fourth Epoch, the Lateranus family was responsible for its maintenance. Its patriarch, Plautius, inserted a code into Raphael's monitoring program, allowing Raphael to automatically ignore a small area of the Lateran Palace every time it monitors the ground. This is the balcony under our feet."

“And this balcony is where Plautius discussed conspiracies with dignitaries from other families.”

"You mean..." Bishop Varian understood.

"Think about it carefully, Lord Varian." Innocent held the railing and said calmly, "In the past thousand years, how many software engineers have taken over the maintenance of Raphael? How many people have violated the code management regulations and illegally added their own code in the version update? How many of them were influenced by the Antichrist?"

"I'm not a code major, Your Holiness." Varian was puzzled. "But when they upload the code to the server, isn't there anyone specifically reviewing it?"

"Of course there are." Innocent laughed, "But are those who review it necessarily safe and trustworthy?"

Varian was speechless.

"There is no perfect program, nor is there an omnipotent artificial intelligence." Innocent turned around and rested his arms on the railing. "Of course, there is no unshakable church."

"Holy See, you better be careful with your words." Varian didn't know whether to laugh or cry. How could you, the leader of the Holy See, say that the Holy See was a pill

"It's okay, let's go inside and talk." Innocent straightened up.

Varian followed Pope Innocent down to the basement of the Lateran Palace.

"Help me get the torque engine at the door." Innocent said as he walked into a basement.

There is a square box next to the door, inside which is a simple torque engine that looks like it has just been assembled. Next to it is a brand new large-capacity battery, and the dial shows that it is fully charged.

Apparently, someone urgently made these two things and sent them over yesterday or this morning after the demonic tide ended.

I just don’t know if it has anything to do with the accident in which the civilization restorer was destroyed
