After Ask finished washing up on Hearth Island, he teleported to the main plane with his quilt and pillow and spread them out on the bed in the room on the second floor.
When he walked out of the room, he saw Eleanor's spear behind the locked door. If anything tried to hit the door, the spear would be knocked to the ground first, making a noise that would be enough to wake everyone up.
Eleanor's shield was placed vertically on the window, which not only blocked the prying eyes from outside, but also served as a warning.
Eleanor, holding a long sword, finished checking the cellar and walked back to the first floor hall. She heard a voice above her head asking:
"Have you finished checking everything?"
"Well." Eleanor looked up at Ask who was leaning against the railing on the second floor, "I'll be on guard in the living room today."
"If I were you, I would sleep on the floor in the corridor on the second floor," said Ask. "Once they wake up, I can just stay high above and guard the stairs, and the enemy won't be able to attack them."
"Also, there's no need to use weapons and shields. That's too extravagant. Simply stand a few bottles upside down on the periphery."
"That makes sense." Eleanor nodded, then she put away her spear and shield and began using bottles to make a sound trap.
"I'll stay in this room." Ask said, "Remember to call me if anything happens."
"You stayed out today?" Eleanor asked in surprise.
"Yes," said Ask.
But today it is my turn to look after the ancient books. Eleanor hesitated for a while, but finally did not say it.
She knew that the captain was worried about her safety and originally wanted to refuse, but the captain was so powerful that with him in the room, she would feel more at ease while keeping watch.
Ask went back to his room to sleep. Although the room was small and the furniture was simple, it was kept very clean by the hostess. He lay down in his bed with his clothes on and closed his eyes. The dragon bone sword was placed beside the bed.
Eleanor, on the other hand, had made her bed on the second floor, also placing her sword, shield, and spear within easy reach. She could easily glance over the edge of the corridor floor at the living room and front entrance below.
"Ask," she called softly. "Ask?"
"What's wrong?" a voice came from the room.
"My voice is so soft, can you hear it?" Eleanor asked in surprise.
"Of course, my 'Perfect Physique X' has some bonus in terms of perception," Ask replied.
"Yeah," Eleanor said truthfully, "I couldn't sleep."
"Are you worried?"
"Thinking about what that person said."
That person, of course, refers to the Demigod of Hidden String.
"What's the point of thinking so much?" said Ask.
"It's useless, but I can't help thinking about it." Eleanor rested her head on one hand and looked down, "Ask..."
"War is a terrible thing. I wonder what would happen to me now if I hadn't met you in the underground arena of Constantinople."
There was silence in the room for a moment.
When Ask first saw Eleanor, he felt that her appearance was somewhat familiar, but he could not remember where he had seen her.
The only thing that is certain is that she, as an NPC in the game, definitely did not die in the beta version of the War to Sack Constantinople.
