The Azure Longsword

Chapter 442: Torture and forced confession

Views:

The Blade Warriors' prison was located at the lowest point of the entire Emperor's coalition camp. It was damp and dark.

After Henry showed Blade Knight's special certificate and password, everyone was allowed to enter the prison.

In the dim light, Eleanor smelled a faint smell of blood and disinfectant in the air, and couldn't help frowning.

She suddenly realized a key point: Blade Knight's review might not be so...

…humane.

Although she was mentally prepared, when she actually saw the knights in the prison, endless anger still surged up from her chest uncontrollably.

She had seen many of these knights at Weisbach Palace before. They were loyal and enthusiastic to the Duke of Bavaria, but now they had completely lost their arrogance.

Their hair was dry, tangled and covered with dirt. They sat dejectedly on the moldy straw, leaning against the wall. Their clothes were tattered and their skin was covered with wounds and dried blood scabs of various sizes.

"You used torture to extract a confession?" Eleanor exploded.

"No." Henry explained quickly, "Synthetic assassins may be covered in human skin, but underneath the skin is a hard machine, so to determine whether they are synthetics, a harmful examination is inevitable..."

"If that's the case, one or two biopsy tests would be enough to confirm it. How do you explain the scars all over their bodies?" Nora asked coldly.

This young lady from a wealthy family had seen some of the most horrific wounds caused by war when she worked as a doctor in a camp for the wounded.

However, when these bloody marks caused by torture with malice and cruelty appeared before her eyes without any disguise, she still felt extremely angry.

"Alas." Henry also knew the identity of this person, and turned to Ask for help (Why don't you take care of your own people)

Ask seemed not to notice his gaze, and was concentrating on studying the rust on the iron bars of the prison.

"Well, actually it's like this." Under the murderous gazes of his sister and her best friend, Henry hesitated for a long time, and finally decided to tell the truth, "Your Majesty suspects that someone in the army wants to assassinate him."

"Assassination?" Eleanor was still furious. "Because of this, you suspect the knights of our Weisbach family?"

"It's not just our family." Henry said in a deep voice, "All duchies have sent some 'relatively unreliable' knights to prison. How could we not follow suit? Isn't this obviously making His Majesty the Emperor suspicious of us?"

"Do you have any evidence?" Nora asked sternly, "If you don't have any evidence, why torture them?"

"Because Sir Henry doesn't have the final say in Blade Knight." Ask in the back suddenly said, "His Majesty the Emperor wants to conduct a strict investigation of the army, so the dukes can only give His Majesty an 'explanation'. His Majesty the Emperor doesn't trust the results given by the dukes, and specifically asked Blade Knight to conduct the interrogation. Blade Knight can only give His Majesty the Emperor a corresponding 'explanation'."

Henry nodded hurriedly, indicating that Captain Ask was absolutely right.

Unexpectedly, Ask's next words made Henry's face change drastically, and his hair stood on end:
