On Hearth Island, Eleanor looked at her scarred hands and silently clenched her teeth.
She tied the sword to her hand with a cloth strip and continued to concentrate her mind and swing the sword.
“Damn it… Why…” The right arm that was swinging the sword had become numb again. She could only switch the hand holding the sword to her left arm and struggle to concentrate her will, “It’s been almost a year… and I still can’t…”
Still can’t learn this extraordinary sword technique
Such intermittent thoughts flashed through her extremely tired mind, and then her legs suddenly went weak and she fell to the ground sideways.
Finally, in the blurred vision, I saw Nora running towards me.
The second floor of the manor.
After treating Eleanor who was lying in bed, Nora sighed softly, left the room and closed the door.
"How's it going?" Ask asked.
"I've overdrawn my physical and mental strength." Nora said, "I need to rest for a while."
"Ask..." She hesitated for a moment and asked, "Can Ellie really learn the Unyielding Sword?"
"I don't know." Ask said, "No one can be sure that they can learn any extraordinary sword skills."
"She's putting too much pressure on herself right now," Nora sighed. "If she can't learn it, can we convince her to give up?"
"Her 'will' ability has a natural resistance to the effects of 'mind' ability." Ask understood her implication. "Besides, I don't think her current stubbornness can be solved by suggestion or implanting thoughts."
"Yeah." Nora just said it casually. Since Ask denied it, she didn't think about it anymore.
"Her problem is mainly that there is a huge gap between her ideals and reality," Ask analyzed. "She witnessed the pain brought by this war and wanted to stop it in advance, but she doesn't have the ability to do so. Therefore, she can only pin this unrealistic hope on learning the Unyielding Holy Sword."
"Ellie has always been like this. She tends to idealize things and then get stuck in them." Of course, Nora also knew that the war between the Empire and the Church was not something that could be resolved so easily.
The two leaned against the railing on the second floor and pondered quietly for a while.
"I'm leaving." Nora waved her hand, "Call me when Ellie wakes up."
"What are you going to do?"
"Planting flowers," Nora said. "Got some new seeds."
"The flower beds on the east side of the manor are fully planted, right?" Ask asked casually.
"Well, this time I plan to plant it in the woods at the foot of the mountain." Nora replied.
Not long after Nora left, another girl came upstairs and interrupted Ask's thoughts.
"Medea?" Ask nodded.
"Let's talk about Eleanor?" Medea came to his side and leaned her arms on the railing.
"Are you the type who cares about your companions?" Ask said with a smile.
"No, I'm not." Medea surprisingly denied it outright, "I just came here to remind you."
"Nora's assessment is too idealistic. She has too positive expectations for her bestie and fails to see the problems involved. In fact, Eleanor is currently at a dangerous stage, both for herself and for our team."
