Eleanor stood at the edge of the platform. The bodies of the blade warriors around her had been collected, leaving only a dark pool of blood.
She stood there, leaning on her sword, staring blankly at the place where her brother died, without saying a word.
"Eleanor," Ask's voice sounded behind her, "what are you doing?"
"I'm thinking about something." Eleanor said softly, her voice extremely hoarse.
"What are you thinking about?" Ask walked over and stood side by side with her.
"Think of some classic Eleanorian philosophical questions," Eleanor replied.
Ask: ... (Did Nora tell you all this?)
"So, is there any result?" Ask tried to make his tone light.
"How is it possible?" Eleanor shook her head slowly, "So many people, so many years, and there is still no solution to the problem... War and Peace..."
"You know, Ask." Her voice was so low that it sounded like she was talking in her sleep, with a hint of sadness, "I should have been a noble lady, just like my sister, wearing makeup, attending balls, salons... and hanging out in all kinds of social occasions."
"It was only by chance when I was a child that I found a chivalric novel in Henry's bedroom."
"It's one of those legendary stories... where the hero is invincible, travels the world with his martial arts, and eventually marries the princess."
"Yeah, I know." Ask said, "Long Aotian."
"Long Aotian?"
"It means invincibility," Ask said. "You start out as the strongest and then you chop your way through."
"Maybe, Long Aotian..." Eleanor closed her eyes, "But what attracts me is not the pleasure of conquering the enemy."
“It’s when the protagonist goes through untold hardships and defeats a powerful enemy that the suffering people are redeemed… Maybe I’m a little vain, but what I like is not the story of war throughout, but the moral satisfaction after saving others.”
"Well, I can understand that," Ask said.
“My original dream of becoming a knight was due to this reason,” Eleanor said.
"How do I remember it was to win my father's approval?" Ask asked.
Eleanor glanced at him and said slowly, "All of them. That's for the future."
"So now, do you still want to save others?" Ask asked.
"Well, it hasn't changed." Eleanor turned around and looked at Ask with a pale face, "I want to save those who are in distress."
"Like I told you last time, I want to stop this war and don't want anyone else to die..."
"But, after all, it's just the ridiculous delusion of a naive person..." Her vision gradually blurred, "I can't even save the people around me..."
Ask suddenly stretched out his arms and caught the upside-down Eleanor's body. The latter hugged his neck and buried her face in his chest. He could even feel the warm liquid flowing down his neck.
"Asker..." In his arms, she almost gritted her teeth and tried hard not to cry out in pain, but in the end, she couldn't help it and gradually turned into a mournful sob.
