It has been more than half a year since the book was started in September last year. The main text of "The Blood Professor at Hogwarts" has totaled 1.21 million words and is now completely completed.
Book lovers who have been able to read more than 1.2 million words and till the end of this post-writing remarks must have at least given this book a good evaluation and are willing to accompany me to the end.
During the more than half a year since I wrote this book, I have often received encouragement from several very good readers in the comment area, recommendation tickets, and monthly tickets. There are often readers who give recommendation tickets for many days in a row, and some readers urge me to update when I don’t update on time, including some who give dozens of monthly tickets at the beginning and end of the month...
In fact, I often feel tired when I keep updating for a long time. Many times, I can only persevere by relying on these book friends who are willing to encourage and urge me to write.
Thank you for being with me along the way!
Although it may be a problem of update speed or because the plot is not satisfactory, some familiar names in the comment section and recommendation section have gradually disappeared, and the book friends who support me have also changed one after another.
However, when I occasionally see familiar names in the ranking of book friends' values, I am often moved and recall the companionship that seemed to be out of place in time and space.
…
Overall, in terms of performance and content, I think this book is relatively above average among HP fan fiction... right
At its peak, searching for Hogwarts in the search bar would rank second among all books, and its popularity ranking was often in the top five; when it was a new book, it was in the top ten of the new book list and the top three of the light novel list; in the later period, it became mediocre and then retreated, but it has basically stabilized in the top ten of the HP fan search index.
I didn’t catch up with the large-scale anti-theft measures, and the average subscription was slowly reduced to one thousand.
How should I put it? I am actually quite satisfied with it.
It is not a time-travel article, it is an indigenous article, and the protagonist is not human. This setting may be considered a poison point in the eyes of many readers. It is a definitely niche article. I am a pure new author who has only written one novel of less than one million words. I cannot ask for too much from others if I can achieve this result.
Because of this book, my author level has increased from level 1 newbie to level 3 medium newbie, and the number of words I have written has almost reached two million. Now I can say without hesitation that I have made a entry in the field of online literature!
But I didn’t let go and write this book.
Because the first book was a complete work for a novice, it had too many flaws and received too much criticism, so I subconsciously restrained myself in this book, sticking to the original work and not daring to write anything too outrageous...
It can also be seen from the various comments that there are not many critical remarks, and there are also very few words of praise.
I think readers probably think that after reading the book, they find it okay and don't find any major flaws, but there aren't many things that are really worthy of praise. It's tasty but mediocre.
Of course, after all, I am just a novice author and not a gifted one, so it is considered satisfactory that I can write a book like this.
…
The whole book is divided into four volumes. The first volume is before it was put on the shelves, which is almost the time of Harry's first grade; the second volume is the end of the first grade and the entire second grade; the third and fourth grades are the third volume; and the last volume is after the fourth grade, which basically leaves Hogwarts and quickly advances the plot.
The one I am most satisfied with is the second volume, and the one I am least satisfied with is also the second volume.
When I was writing the second volume, the book had just been released. I was very passionate about writing it. In the first ten days, I wrote more than 10,000 words a day. In the chapters about the vampire Tesla and the retired Auror Robert, I really felt that I had performed beyond my normal level. The content that was not originally in the outline was expanded into an exquisite little story.
But this state certainly cannot be maintained forever. In the later part of the second volume, it is obvious that the plot begins to become dragged out. The rhythm of the chapters after coming out of the secret realm of Mount Olympus is not well controlled. I think a large number of readers abandoned the book because of the transition chapter from Rove's perspective. I deeply regret this.
By the third volume, the bug-level existence of the Time Converter was a prop that played a very important role in the original work, and it was also the prop that was most likely to cause the fan fiction plot to collapse.
Fortunately, I think my handling of the story is pretty standard among many HP fan fictions, without causing any major plot loopholes, and also introducing foreshadowing that wasn't fully realized until the very late stages.
As for the semi-finals, I don't know if it was driven by Professor Magic, but in recent years there have been more and more HP fan fiction about the semi-finals, and it's easy for readers to get aesthetic fatigued with the various magic schools.
After careful consideration, I simply added a magic school, Infamy, and used Jacob Kowalski's grandson and magical creatures as an introduction to enrich the plot. Personally, I think it's quite innovative, right
I still vaguely remember that when the competition was about to end, I said that the book would be finished soon. Many book friends at the time were shocked. After all, the plot had only reached the fourth grade, and there were still three grades of stories to be told.
In fact, this arrangement was a decision I had made when I first set up the outline. The only plots that are truly suitable for a Defense Against the Dark Arts professor to intervene are in the first four grades.
If he really wanted to stay in school, he could have stayed in Hogwarts for two more years, but that would have seemed a bit redundant.
The plot lines roughly related to the young wizards of Hogwarts have been almost completed in the first four grades. Dracula's vision should not and could not be forever limited to a small school, even if this school brought him feelings that he had not experienced for thousands of years.
So he didn't care about exposing his identity as a vampire and gave Cedric the First Embrace on the spot.
He had already made up his mind to take a look at this chaotic wizarding world, release Grindelwald, and promote the evolution of werewolves and vampires, hoping that the world would not be in chaos.
However, I finally gave up on the setting of "I only want to create chaos in the world" and did not let the magic world be completely in chaos under the promotion of Dracula... because I was afraid that Dracula, who is both good and evil, would become a villain with no bottom line.
This is a pity, and may have something to do with my lack of writing skills.
But I am quite satisfied with the setting of replacing the Grim Reaper in the end, even though the Grim Reaper seems too low-class in this book and doesn’t have the demeanor of a big boss…
And there is Riddle. Perhaps some readers are still looking forward to clearing the name of this handsome genius of the Snake Academy.
But in fact, more rational book lovers may have realized that Riddle had already killed someone when he made the diary Horcrux, and his soul had fallen into the abyss of darkness, so it was impossible for him to repent because of external objects.
So I chose to have Riddle rebel at the end of the story, when he merged with Voldemort's soul, his power surpassed that of the great wizard, and his desire for power and strength completely overwhelmed everything.
As for letting Grindelwald use the Killing Curse to end the story, it actually has a deep meaning.
I don’t know if you have noticed that Count Dracula has been scary from beginning to end in this book, but he really didn’t kill anyone during his time at Hogwarts—
He doesn't like killing people because he can't die and doesn't want others to get away with it.
As for Dumbledore, as the most iconic representative of white wizards, the halo around him is too bright. Asking him to use the Killing Curse would tarnish Dumbledore's halo to a certain extent.
Grindelwald is different. He is a dark wizard who has killed countless people. Although his ideas may have changed after being locked up in the tower for fifty years, killing Riddle is still a piece of cake for him.
Therefore, it is most appropriate for Grindelwald to take action.
…
That’s all about the plot. I have written more than 2,000 words without realizing it. Readers who have read this far must really love the Bloodline Professor, right? (laughs)
Then I'll start writing a thank you note.
Well, I dreamed about the time when I was writing my thesis.
First of all, I would like to thank my editor Peng Lai. For the last book, he rescued me from a pile of garbage and pulled me into the online literature industry, so I have chosen him for this book... unless he rejects my manuscript.
Under the leadership of Nai Peng, this book has gone through four rounds of recommendations during the new book period. After it was put on the shelves, it was also given a weather vane and a limited free trial not long ago.
Naipeng is a good editor. He has so many great authors under him, and he is also willing to take care of the recommendation positions for small authors. I love him!
I would also like to thank my readers who have been with me along the way.
Many of the IDs are very familiar to me, such as the person who drew fan art for Dracula before the game was released; the two eggs who kept urging me to update and posted many comments shortly after the game was released; Ying Siqi who gave me a lot of support in the middle and cast dozens of monthly tickets; Yiranyibao_BD, Dantes, Oscar wxd who were active in the recommendation area...
I would also like to express my special thanks to the seniors who gave me a large reward.
First, the two cute masters, Be a Common Man~ and Wu Ye are the best! The book "The Bloodline Professor of Hogwarts" also has two cute masters' HP fanfiction!
Ahem... To be honest, neither of the two cute masters actually read the books. They are friends I met in the Jicha cute group, and they came here to show their support for this failed author.
What else can I say? Thanks a lot orz!
The real reader is Mr. He Jiajun, who followed the story from the beginning to the end and became my protector in the end. If it weren’t for the intrusion of layman and Wu Ye, he would be the real number one on the list emmm…
He Jiajun really read the book seriously and had a lot of ideas, which gave me a lot of inspiration. The image of the stepdaughter Selina and the image of the proprietress of the real dragon Bai Feilong Bar were all written under his influence.
Anyway, thank you very much!
Of course, I am also very grateful to the book friends who have been following the genuine version and are willing to spend money to read the book! You are my gods!
…
Well, let’s talk about your plans for the next book!
The weight of Qidian fan fiction is getting smaller and smaller. If I continue to write HP fan fiction, it will probably disappear in a flash like a wave in the ocean, which is unacceptable in any way.
It's a pity that I had already prepared an outline for a HP fan fiction book.
Friends who have read the previous book may remember that I said I wanted to write about the past, present and future of Harry Potter.
I have written about the past and the present, but there is still one book left to be written in the future. I will definitely make up for this regret one day in the future... I have been a fan of HP for many, many years. At the beginning, I wrote fan fiction just to tell the HP stories in my heart, and it is still the same now.
As for the next HP fan fiction, I might go to other sites, or write it on Qidian.com using Aidianfen when I have enough time and money. However, I won’t be obsessed with fan fiction for my next book in the near future.
At that time, I will open a new account and write cyberpunk science fiction novels.
To be honest, I submitted articles to Science Fiction World magazine when I was in middle school, so writing science fiction can be considered as "returning to my old career."
The outline of the new book has been almost written, and it is expected to be released at the end of this month. I will give a reminder in this book at that time. Friends who are interested can take a look and support me at the same time.
But I also understand that when I write books across genres and regions, my next book will basically be like starting from scratch, and I hope it won’t be too bad.
…
Oh yes, there is one more thing that everyone may be concerned about.
When will the extra chapter be written
Write it right away!
Friends who have been following the book may know that this book is a fan fiction after all, so a lot of content from the original work is used in the text. I feel very sorry about it, but I dare not delete it easily.
So I promised before that after the completion, I will release a side story of at least 50,000 words, which will be published in the form of free chapters, and I won’t charge you a penny!
Even though I earn less, it makes me feel better, and maybe it can also make people think more highly of me. It’s like killing two birds with one stone, right
The extra chapters will complete the branch plots that are not completed in the main text. If there are readers who still want to see people or things, you can click on the introduction and tell me your ideas. I will consider writing them out as appropriate.
After writing these supplementary plots, I will write some of Dracula's past, describing how he met Slytherin, how he made friends with the Big Four, how he unified the vampire clan... and so on.
Hey, why does it feel like 50,000 words are not enough
As for the update frequency, it’s probably once every two or three days. After all, I still have to prepare a new book, and I may not have enough energy.
…
Finally, I would like to thank all the book friends for their companionship along the way. I am very happy and lucky to meet you in my long life. I believe that one day we will meet again in the ocean of novels!
Best regards.
