The Emperor Reigns Them All

Chapter 408: her avenue

Views:

When great monks fight, most of them will set up barriers in advance, so as not to hurt innocent people or be seen by ordinary people, which will affect the order of the world.

The cool night wind swept across the roof, slanted down from the tiles, brushed Li Ye's clothes and feet, and slipped away through the courtyard door. The leaves and branches rustled, and there was a faint sound of watchdogs far away. Except for the Governor's Mansion, this ancient city is still on its original track tonight.

Not many people died that night, but the level of blood was not too much, just because the deaths were heavy enough, and the deaths were cruel enough.

Lots of extra chill in the yard.

The bloody smell came out, making Li Ye frowned.

He glanced at Li Keyong, who was lying on the bluestone floor, and suddenly felt that his interest had faded, so he stood up, rolled up his sleeves, and left this absurd place.

Perhaps, Li Cunxiao was destined to die in the hands of Li Keyong.

In the time and space when Li Ye was not born, Li Cunxiao was eventually beheaded by Li Keyong because of Li Keyong's suspicion and the envy of the generals. Li Keyong also regretted it afterwards, but what's the use of that? Liang Jiang died, the Great Wall collapsed, and Li Keyong failed to unify the North in his entire life, let alone defeat Zhu Wen and enter the Central Plains.

Li Keyong, the king of Jin who had great potential to achieve great things, was only the king of Jin until his death, owning only the three Jins and surrounding lands.

Now that Li Keyong and Li Cunxiao are both going to die, Li Ye's goal of going north has been achieved. After ten days, the officers and troops will rush to Dai, Shuo, Wei and other prefectures. I believe that there will be no war at all, even if Li Keyong has gathered a lot of remnants and defeated generals.

After several months, Hedong was pacified, or in other words, included in Li Ye's jurisdiction, and the war would stop soon. The next focus was on governing the prefectures and counties and resting with the people.

Compared with the five prefectures of Pinglu, the eleven prefectures of Hedong are undoubtedly larger and more populated. As long as they are properly governed, the luck of the people that Li Ye can absorb will naturally be wider. It stands to reason that breaking through the fairyland is not a problem.

However, the Taoist Immortal Court ruled Kyushu. If you want to ascend to immortality here and rank in the immortal class, you must be approved by the Immortal Court, otherwise you can only stay in the Yangshen Daoist Realm for life. That is to say, the aura in the sea of qi can only reach the peak state of Yangshen Daoist Realm if it breaks the sky, and more aura will only overflow.

This is common sense.

For Li Ye, once the absorbed luck is saturated, no amount of luck can be absorbed at all, and it is impossible to break through the barrier and enter the fairyland.

If the cultivation base is only in the Realm of the Yangshen Realm, and if the Immortal Court sends a real powerful person to the lower realm, Li Ye can only wait for his death.

But Li Ye didn't feel pessimistic. After all, this was just a normal situation. There must be a way for the car to reach the mountain. What he has to do now is to digest the land east of the river as soon as possible.

There was a slight change in the secret scroll between the eyebrows, and Li Ye felt it for a moment, but he didn't really find anything. The scroll, or picture scroll, is still closed and has no intention of unfolding.

After getting the land of Hedong, Li Ye also took over the responsibility of the Hedong Army. The so-called Daibei frontier, that is, the land north of Daizhou is the border, bordering on the grassland, currently bounded by the Great Wall.

Once the grassland soldiers and horses invaded south and crossed the Great Wall, Shuozhou in the west, Yunzhou in the north in the middle, and Yuzhou in the east would be the frontier defense front, which was Datang's first line of defense against the grassland soldiers and horses.

Li Ye now has the important task of border defense, and the opponent of defense, as the Khitan captured the territory of the Tatar tribe, also changed from the Tatar tribe to the Khitan. I just met Yelu Abaoji, although the other party seemed to run away shamelessly, but Li Ye was not at ease.

He knew what potential Yelu Abaoji had.

After leaving Daizhou, Li Ye went straight north and reached the border of the Great Wall.

The sky is not yet awake, the night is still dark, and the mottled walls are weather-beaten, and they still guard the frontier for Datang with due diligence. Li Ye looked northward from the ancient Great Wall.

During the Zhenguan period, Tang Wenzhi and martial arts flourished for a while. Emperor Taizong once said that the ancients defended the border by building the Great Wall, but my Tang Dynasty did not build the Great Wall, but only trained elite soldiers. The Great Wall can't really resist the invasion of grassland soldiers and horses, but the elite soldiers of Datang can.

The 300,000 troops of the Hedong Army have basically been lost, but this so-called loss is for Li Keyong. There were a lot of prisoners taken by the officers and soldiers, plus the soldiers and horses from Dai, Shuo, Yun, Wei and other prefectures, the total number would be a lot. Li Ye only needed to recruit a little young and strong, and in a short period of time, he could gather another army of ten soldiers. Thousands of elite Hedong Army.

The Hedong army is brave and good at fighting, and it is not comparable to ordinary military towns in terms of elites. This can be seen from the attitude of the Zhaoyi army towards the Hedong army.

They will be Li Ye's strong support for guarding the border and going south to win the Central Plains.

Li Ye caressed the cold and hard stone wall, his eyes passed through the twilight under the sea of stars, and looked far to the north.

He now needs to consider two issues.

First, most of the civil affairs in Pinglu were presided over by Cui Keli, and most of the promoted officials were Cui Jiajunyan. Now that Zhu Wen sent troops to Pinglu, Cui Keli's enemy and I don't know, can the Cui family officials brought by Li Ye still be used

Second, after the capture of Hedong, will other feudal towns in the north take the opportunity to subdue them

If it is not subdued, Hedong will be surrounded by feudal towns, and there are some rather powerful feudal towns in the middle, such as Zhenwu and Youzhou, which cannot be underestimated. If the officers and soldiers return to aid Pinglu, once Taoism, Confucianism, and military strategists, including gods, do anything with ulterior motives, these feudal towns will be their chance to stir up the situation, and they may join forces to attack Hedong.

Li Ye quickly sorted out the answers to these two questions.

First of all, let Li Zhen preside over Hedong Civil Affairs. The confidantes under the opponent's command are all old members of Prince An's Mansion, and loyalty is not a problem. Although facing the land of the eleven prefectures in Hedong, the manpower seems insufficient, but with Li Zhen's talent and reasonable use of the local officials in Hedong, it shouldn't be a big problem.

Secondly, the Pinglu army returned to aid Pinglu first. After all, that was the place where Li Ye was based, and the family members of the Pinglu army soldiers were all there. At the same time, Li Ye also needs to contain Zhu Wen.

...

During the period when Li Ye was dealing with finishing matters in Hedong and preparing to return to Pinglu, the situation in the world changed drastically, and the Immortal Territory was also not calm.

Buddha Domain, Leiyin Temple Lun Zen Hall.

The main hall is majestic and majestic, and the tall foundation sends the hall into the sky. There are thousands of stone steps in front of the hall, and you can't see the end when you look down.

Master Feihong in white clothes and skirt stood in front of the stone steps, his face was peaceful and serene, if there was no trace of weariness between his brows, he would be the same as usual.

Beside her, stood a great monk in a purple-gold cassock, with a broad face and square ears, a benevolent yet majestic face, it was Manjusri.

Manjusri glanced at the Lun Zen Hall, his eyes were full of emotion, and he said to Master Feihong: "The Holy Buddha personally took action, and it took an inexplicable amount of resources in the Buddha's domain to allow you to return from the mortal world safe and sound. This trip You got nothing, and most of the Eighteen Arhats lost more than half of it. Although the Holy Buddha didn't show anything, he must not be in a good mood. You should be more careful after you go up."

Compared with Manjusri's benevolent eyebrows and kind eyes, and the invisible majesty emanating from his body, Master Feihong looks as pure as a green leaf.

She didn't say anything.

Manjusri said again: "Although everything in the world has a definite number, the way is unpredictable, and all living beings are equal before him, perhaps all cause and effect have already been predestined. But my generation of monks has won the heaven and the earth to become immortals. If we can't fight for everything, we can't fight for it." If it is in your hands, what reason is there to stand here?"

Seeing Master Feihong not squinting, his expression remained unchanged as usual, and he didn't know whether he was listening to him, Manjushri shook his head: "You go. No matter what the Holy Buddha says, remember not to refute, just admit your mistakes sincerely."

Master Feihong finally responded, she nodded and went up the stairs.

The Lun Chan Hall is a sacred place in the Buddhist domain, and it is also where the holy Buddha preaches the Dharma.

Master Feihong has walked this road countless times before, but obviously never once did he feel the same as this time. As Mao Sui's self-recommendation, a great monk in the lower realm who seeks great things for the Buddhist realm, and is one of the four great Bodhisattvas in the Buddhist realm, he should blame himself for being anxious when he returned home after failing.

But Master Feihong may have many emotions in his heart, but he has no such thoughts.

The main hall is big enough to accommodate ten thousand people, but at the moment it is empty, only at the end of the field of vision, there is a monk sitting on a nine-foot altar, wearing a golden cassock. Although he is only seven feet tall, he gives the impression of being extremely long and full of oppressive force.

That is the holy Buddha.

Master Feihong saluted in the hall.

The holy Buddha didn't speak immediately, he glanced at Master Feihong, those eyes were not so peculiar in shape, but they had the ability to detect all falsehoods.

After waiting for a long time, the holy Buddha opened his mouth slowly, his voice unable to distinguish between emotions and anger: "At first, I thought that even if you failed in this trip, you should still get something, and you should improve your mental state and cultivation base. Now it seems that you not only misunderstood Even the Buddha's heart has been damaged!"

During the trip to the secret realm, Master Feihong benefited a lot, his enlightenment deepened, and his strength improved, but in the eyes of the holy Buddha, all these seemed to disappear. What he saw was only the damage to the so-called Master Feihong's Buddha heart.

Perhaps, for the Holy Buddha, this is the most important thing.

Master Feihong didn't speak, didn't refute, just stood there quietly.

The holy Buddha was displeased, and said with a heavy eyebrow: "You have nothing to say? If you don't want to say it, I can say it for you. I will ask you, the person who entered your heart and hurt your Buddha's heart. What do you mean? If you don't say it, I will help you remove him from your heart, so that you can never think of this person again!"

Master Feihong finally raised his head and looked at the holy Buddha.

Her gaze remained calm, but a smile appeared on the corners of her lips, as if she remembered the most beautiful thing.

She said: "If the holy Buddha wants to ask what he means to his disciples, the disciples can tell the holy Buddha: to the disciples, he is like a dream, lingering and untouchable."

When she said this, the smile on the corner of her mouth grew stronger, but there was sadness flowing from the bottom of her eyes. This made her look rather bleak, like a child in the wilderness who is weeping alone at a home she cannot return to.

Immortals are different, this is of course a barrier, but it is nothing to Master Feihong, only the heavy pressure of the Buddha's realm is the natural barrier that she cannot overcome. So even if that person raised his brows and sank into his heart from time to time, and couldn't get rid of it, it was just like a dream, destined to be untouchable.

Holy Buddha is angry.

He naturally understood the meaning of Master Feihong's words, so his anger was so great that he didn't want to hide it, and he snapped: "You want to abandon my Buddha's cause for this mortal? The world is suffering, the common people are suffering, so much suffering Waiting for you to heal it, but you actually affected the Buddha's mind for an ordinary person? Are you still a master Feihong who has attained the Bodhisattva status?!"

Faced with such righteous and awe-inspiring scolding, Master Feihong just laughed it off.

She did not avoid the holy Buddha's angry eyes, and said peacefully: "The so-called great cause of the Buddha's realm is not to relieve the sufferings of the common people, but to spread the Dharma to all directions and carry it forward so that more believers can be accepted and more incense and money can be obtained." And the power of faith, in order to expand the power of Shimen. In the final analysis, this is just for the benefit of one school, and it is no different from Taoist Immortal Court."

"Shut up!" The Holy Buddha was furious.

Master Feihong didn't stop.

Not only that, but her eyes became brighter and brighter, "The only one who can truly relieve the suffering of the common people is the emperor of the world. Throughout the ages, how many things have been done by the monks of Shimen, how many roads have been built and how many bridges have been repaired? People? Could it be that Shimen is only responsible for persuading people to accumulate virtue and do good things, but he himself stays out of it? Even if Shimen has done some good deeds, how can it be compared with the imperial edict of the king to persuade farmers to teach agriculture and mulberry and abolish exorbitant taxes? Administering the government with virtue is something that can really benefit the people of the world. And they and their officials have been doing such things all their lives!"

Holy Buddha said coldly: "Who told you this?"

Master Feihong seemed to recall something, the smile on his lips was like the spring sun melting the ice and snow, "There is a man who is a prince of the dynasty, but he is willing to work hard for forty years. No matter how hard he gets, he is just doing it."

"A person who can do this is a person who truly understands the sufferings of the common people and is willing to work hard for them. My disciples have visited the five states of Pinglu, and the people there rarely suffer. The light illuminates the world warmly, and the world is full of joy. If the purpose of Buddhism in the Buddhist realm is to end the suffering of the world, why should the people ask for a vain afterlife? Helping such a person rule the world, the common people will have countless blessings in this life, and also in the next life.”

Holy Buddha has calmed down.

Of course he has to calm down, because he realizes that he has encountered a challenge, a challenge that can only be overcome by calmness of mind.

He asked coldly: "So it's not that your Buddha's heart has been greatly damaged, but the Buddha's heart is no longer there! You want to use the capital of an immortal to seek refuge with that mortal and be driven by him?"

Contrary to the expectations of the Holy Buddha, Master Feihong did not nod, but put his hands together, and said devoutly: "There are three thousand roads, and the same goal is the same. Is it also a sign? Feihong wished to be in the sect, preaching and giving, so that the disciples of the sect will all follow the Dao and sincerely relieve the suffering of the common people."

The Holy Buddha sneered, his eyes filled with disdain: "You want to take my seat?"

Master Feihong is still pious: "If your heart is on the Dao, why should you care about your position? No matter what position you are in, you can have your heart on the Dao."

The holy Buddha's calm heart was disturbed again, not only that, but his facial features were all distorted.

Master Feihong's words scolded him severely: she doesn't care about her position, and the first thing he considers is that the other party wants to take his position.

It is clear at a glance which of the two states is higher and which is lower.

The holy Buddha took a deep breath, and felt that he could no longer continue the discussion with Master Feihong, so he said sharply: "You have gained nothing in the lower realm this time, but instead let the Buddha realm lose troops and generals. The crime is serious and irrefutable. From today onwards, you will be punished by claustrophobia. In the forbidden room, you are not allowed to go out without orders. In the room, there is only a Buddha statue, a green lamp, and a volume of Buddhist scriptures. This seat wants you to repent, so that you can repent of your sins!"

Master Feihong clasped his hands together again.

The words she said had far-reaching meanings, beyond the expectations of the holy Buddha: "If this body is deeply affectionate, why are you afraid of the ancient Buddha accompanying the blue lamp?"

Saint Buddha was taken aback.

Then he sneered and said, "I'm already deep in love? You really are not afraid of treason! Then I will tell you that sooner or later I will make that person's head into a prayer bead, and turn his soul into a wick, so that he will be immortal forever." It can be used as an object in the Buddha realm!"

Master Feihong's complexion did not change, but his eyes were extremely firm. , her expression is still pious, that is her piety to the avenue she chose.

She said word by word: "If there is such a time, I ask the Holy Buddha to forgive my disciple: I have used so much love in this life, I can't accompany the ancient Buddha with the blue lantern!"

The holy Buddha was furious when he heard this.

The two sentences are deeply affectionate and have diametrically opposite meanings.

The previous sentence says that the mind is already concerned, so no matter where you are or what situation you face, because your mind is thinking, it is as if that person is by your side.

The latter sentence said that if the holy Buddha really killed that person, she would come out of the Buddha's realm for that person, and use all her cultivation to avenge him!

How can the Holy Buddha not be angry with such words

The holy Buddha shouted: "Go away!"

This sound of thunder billowing, has the power to make people tremble and fear.

Master Feihong turned around and walked out of the hall calmly.

The Holy Buddha looked at Master Feihong's back, and the thick cloud on his face could not dissipate for a long time.

That's one of the four great bodhisattvas in the Buddhist realm, but after a trip to the lower realms, they are all tied to the enemy physically and mentally

Foyu can't afford this loss.

Thinking of the huge amount of resources spent to recall Master Feihong, the Holy Buddha was so angry that one Buddha came out of his body and two Buddhas ascended to heaven.

"A mortal, what kind of ability does he have that can kill the heart of my four great bodhisattvas? I really can't wait, I want to meet you for a while." The holy Buddha thought so.

However, he also has his own troubles. Foyu has to deal with Allah from the west, and he can't get away in a short time.

Master Feihong left the hall, and when he reached the thousand stone steps, he stopped suddenly and looked into the distance.

The relaxed look on her face was gone, replaced by an indistinguishable sadness.

Looking at the end of nothing in the distant sky, she murmured softly in a voice that she could only hear: "Of course I am ignorant, and I don't know that there is someone in your heart. But aren't you also ignorant, and don't know that there is someone in my heart?"
