The bronze coffin lid was almost fused to the bronze coffin, and it was impossible to chisel open the bronze coffin with a hammer or steel pipe. Chen Yang suggested: "Why not use an electric saw or a cutting machine?"
When the Kou family moved the grave, they asked someone from another family to help dig the grave. Someone whispered, "Won't that offend the things in the coffin?"
Father Kou waved his hand and said, "It ran to the ancestral tomb of our Kou family. It's obvious that it wants us to open it. Of course, we have the final say on how to open it. Xuan Ling, go get the cutting machine."
Hearing this, Kou Xuanling had no choice but to run down the mountain to get the cutting machine. When he went, he took a few young people from the Kou family with him and borrowed a cutting machine from the people in the town. He used two cutting machines to cut the bronze coffin open, and put on a mask when opening the coffin. The pungent smell filled the air and it took a long time to fade. Chen Yang and his men went forward to check, but saw a wet corpse lying in the black sewage in the bronze coffin.
The sewage should be some kind of preservative material, and when mixed with the corpse water, it produces a pungent smell. The wet corpse's face is blurred, but well preserved, and the skin seems to still be elastic. The hair and nails are still preserved, and there is even the possibility that they will continue to grow.
Chen Yang broke off a branch and stirred the bronze coffin in the dirty water twice. He caught a glimpse of a black shadow under the wet clothes of the corpse. Just as he was about to take a closer look, the black shadow suddenly jumped out. Chen Yang reacted quickly and used the branch to block the black snake. The black snake was thrown on the ground and twisted twice, and soon he cut it into two pieces with a shovel.
Kou Xuanling: "It's the black snake again. Is it related to the grudge? Or is it related to the Iron Wall Mountain?"
Father Kou: "Set up an altar to invite the spirits." What he meant was that he wanted to set up an altar to invite the ancestors to get to the bottom of the matter.
"What about the bronze coffin and the wet corpse?" Chen Yang deduced from the bronze coffin, the wet corpse, and the words on the coffin lid: "It should be a bronze coffin from the Warring States Period. To be able to use a bronze coffin, her status should be high, at least a princess. But why did she suddenly appear in the Kou family's ancestral tomb? That's a question."
Bronze coffins were large in ancient funerals, and the people buried inside them were definitely of high status. There were also many burial objects in the bronze coffins, most of which were expensive treasures at the time. If the person was of high status, he would at least have built a mausoleum. So it is certain that this is a bronze coffin that was dug up and buried here.
Father Kou pondered for a moment and said, "Call the police. Report the bronze coffin and the female corpse to the country. Maybe we can find something out."
Chen Yang nodded in agreement: "That's what I mean. Otherwise, there's no point in keeping it here. We can't sell it. It would be a pity to burn a wet corpse that might have been preserved from the Warring States Period. So we should report it to the country and keep it for research. But we have to send someone to guard it to make sure it doesn't hurt anyone."
Kou's father admired Chen Yang very much: "Director Chen is worthy of being the director. He has a broad vision and a broad mind." He also reminded Kou Xuanling to learn more from Chen Yang. Kou Xuanling was silent. He felt that the main reason why Chen Yang agreed with his father's suggestion was that the bronze coffin and the wet corpse were worthless.
The bronze coffin was decided, and many experts came that night and took the bronze coffin and the wet corpse away, waiting to publish it after the research was completed to shock the world. As for the Kou family, after confirming the national bonus, they continued to move the graves and took the bones of their ancestors back to the ancestral temple. The bones of the ancestors were temporarily enshrined in the Taoist temple, and Kou's father asked Kou Xuanling to set up an altar to invite the spirits.
The Taoist altar is to invite the ancestors to possess the body, ask questions, and then write on paper. The person possessed cannot speak, for fear that if the breath is released, the ancestors will leave. Kou Xuanling first held three incense sticks and they ignited without fire. After kneeling three times and knocking nine times, he inserted the three incense sticks into the incense burner, took two steps back, put his hands together and folded them into a gesture. He closed his eyes and chanted: "The 31st generation of the Kou family respectfully invites the ancestors to descend into his body and ask the ancestors to solve the problems and doubts."
As soon as the words fell, the room fell into silence. Kou Xuanling did not move for a long time, and a piece of incense ash fell from the three incense sticks in the incense burner. Kou's father scooped up a piece of incense ash with his little finger and put it into a pile of cinnabar, stirred it twice, and then used a brush to dot a "cinnabar mole" on Kou Xuanling's forehead.
Then, with his eyes closed, Kou Xuanling accurately picked up the brush dipped in cinnabar on the table and wrote a word on the white paper in front of him: Ask.
The white paper was removed and replaced with another one. Kou's father asked, "Respectfully ask the ancestors, is the recent ominous warning about the Kou family's ancestral tomb related to the ancient tomb in Tiewei Mountain?"
Kou Xuanling wrote on the white paper: Yes.
Kou's father asked again: "Who is buried in the ancient tomb of Tiewei Mountain?"
Kou Xuanling wrote on the replacement white paper: Zhou Wu, curse Jin.
Father Kou frowned, not knowing what he meant. He had to ask someone to take the white paper aside and put it aside, and then continued to ask: "Is the Iron Wall Mountain Tomb a formation?"
Kou Xuanling: Yes.
Father Kou: "What formation?"
Kou Xuanling: Thirty-six evil situations.
The Thirty-Six Passes of the Demonic Path originated from the creation of alchemists during the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period. They believed that people would experience these disasters in their lifetime. Later, they became the Passes of the Demonic Path for Children, which means the gods and demons that children will encounter before they grow up. Only by going through these disasters can they grow up safely. However, if it is called the Thirty-Six Passes of the Demonic Path and used in the tomb formation, it will become a very sinister formation. This formation is full of evil spirits, and if used to the extreme, it can even change the fortune of a country.
As the name suggests, the Thirty-Six Passes of the Evil Situation requires a total of thirty-six graves, each of which has a sitting coffin, which means that a living person is nailed in the sitting coffin and locked to death. Before death, he suffered great pain and had deep resentment. Among the thirty-six graves, only one is the main grave, where the real owner is buried. The other thirty-five sitting coffins are all substitutes for the main grave and protect the main grave from harm.
Father Kou: "A bronze coffin was dug up within the ancestral tomb area. Inside the coffin was a wet corpse from the Warring States Period. Did it come from the ancient tomb in Tiewei Mountain?"
Kou Xuanling: Yes.
Father Kou: "The reason? Do we need to re-set the Thirty-Six Levels of Evil?"
Kou Xuanling: Yes.
Father Kou frowned in confusion: "The Thirty-Six Passes and Evils Bureau requires the construction of thirty-five secondary tombs and the burial of thirty-five sitting coffins. If the Thirty-Six Passes and Evils Bureau of the Tiewei Mountain Ancient Tomb is rearranged on Bijia Mountain, the tombs will also have to be rebuilt. These require huge projects and are difficult to accomplish."
Kou Xuanling paused for a moment and wrote on the new paper: Hell Level.
Once again, a word appeared that Kou's father could not understand. He continued to ask, "Who wants to re-set the Thirty-Six Levels of Evil?"
The cinnabar pen paused in the air for a moment, and the three incense sticks on the incense burner burned out. When the ashes fell, Kou Xuanling's body softened. Kou's father wanted to catch his son, but unexpectedly, a figure was faster than him and came forward to hug Kou Xuanling. Looking closely, it was Lu Xiuzhi.
Lu Xiuzhi's eyes never left Kou Xuanling's weak face. Chen Yang poured a cup of sugar water and handed it to him: "Let Old Kou drink some sugar water to replenish his strength." Lu Xiuzhi took the sugar water and fed it to Kou Xuanling himself. His expression and movements were very gentle.
Father Kou found this very strange. He pulled his eldest brother's sleeve and asked secretly: "Do you think there is something wrong between Xuan Ling and his friend?"
Kou's father's eldest brother is the Three Caves and Five Thunders Heavenly Master of the Kou family. He is extremely talented but extremely impatient with dealing with mundane matters. He doesn't know much about the ways of the world, especially when it comes to judging people. It can be said that his heart is as bright as the sun and the moon, and all he sees are exceptionally beautiful and innocent relationships. At this time, he squinted his presbyopic eyes and looked at his fifth nephew and his friend, praising them with a stern face: "They are friends with deep affection, as close as a pestle and a mortar, and they are as close as brothers."
In short, brotherly love.
Kou's father's expression was as if he had seen something disgusting: "If you don't know how to use idioms, don't use them randomly." The most notable characteristic of Kou's father's eldest brother is that he knows how to use idioms, but he always likes to use them in many situations. For example, the phrase "chujiuzhijiao" is used to refer to making friends regardless of social status, but it cannot be used to refer to Kou Xuanling and Lu Xiuzhi.
Uncle Kou snorted, "Ordinary people."
Father Kou: "... I don't want to bother with you."
Chen Yang heard the whole argument between the two people, and he had a strange expression on his face. Pestle and mortar? Pestle and mortar... No, how could he think of something so dirty? That is a serious and innocent idiom, let it go! Chen Yang covered his eyes and shook himself in his heart to wake up quickly and not be tainted by Du Shuo. It is obviously a very normal idiom, used to describe making friends regardless of status, what a sincere idiom! How could he think of that? It's just a very ordinary pestle and mortar, doesn't it just require putting the pestle into the mortar and pounding it
… It still feels so dirty. Chen Yang took a few deep breaths and threw the idiom out of his mind. He felt that the pure self was dead, and the one left behind was the dirty demon king who was led astray by Lao Du. Chen Yang sighed, looked up and saw Kou Xuanling just woke up and drank the cup of sugar water in Lu Xiuzhi's hand. He couldn't help coughing several times.
Kou Xuanling was puzzled: "Chen Xiaoyang, what's wrong with you?"
Chen Yang coughed and said, "No. Ahem, I just think you two are really... a close friend, as close as a pestle and mortar—" The smile froze on his face.
Uncle Kou looked at Chen Yang with increasing satisfaction, thinking that he was a junior worth respecting. Kou Xuanling and Lu Xiuzhi frowned in confusion: "The term 'friendship of pestle and mortar' is not correct."
Uncle Kou frowned and looked at his fifth nephew unhappily. Lu Xiuzhi didn't say anything, but he felt that Chen Yang's expression was not right. It was just that he had been a single old man for many years and was not that dirty at the moment, so he couldn't understand Chen Yang's dirty level. Therefore, he didn't think too deeply about it.
The friendship between the pestle and the mortar soon came to an end. Chen Yang took out the two pieces of writing written by Kou Xuanling, the ancestor of the Kou family. One piece reads "Zhou Wu, Cursing Jin", and the other piece reads "Hell Chapter". Chen Yang said, "I don't know the first one, but the second one is from Volume 2 of the "Abhidharma Sutra", which mentions the Iron Enclosure Mountain. "Besides the four continents, the eighty thousand small continents, the other big mountains and the King of Mount Sumeru, there is another mountain called Chakara, which is dense and solid, made of diamond and difficult to destroy. Outside this Iron Enclosure, there is another big Iron Enclosure Mountain. Between the two mountains, there is great darkness without light. Even the sun and the moon, with such great power and virtue, cannot shine there to make it see light. Between the two mountains, there are eight great hells." Chakara is the Iron Enclosure Mountain. Outside the world, there is a small Iron Enclosure Mountain, and outside the small Iron Enclosure Mountain, there is a big Iron Enclosure Mountain. If the Iron Enclosure Mountain is compared to the small Iron Enclosure Mountain and the Pen Holder Mountain is compared to the big Iron Enclosure Mountain, then the eight great hells are between the two mountains. Is it possible that the eight great hells are the thirty-six barriers?"
Kou Xuanling: "It's possible." He picked up another piece of paper: "What does 'Zhou Wu, curse Jin' mean?"
Chen Yang shook his head: "I don't know."
Kou's father and others were also unclear. Uncle Kou wanted to show off his knowledge, but he couldn't explain the four words after staring at them for a long time. Finally, he forced a literal explanation: "You see, Zhou Wu, combined with the ancient tombs in Tiewei Mountain, is likely to be from the Warring States Period, so it is a witch from the Zhou Dynasty. Curse Jin means to curse the State of Jin. At that time, the State of Jin had a bad relationship with the State of Zhou and they often fought."
Everyone glanced at Uncle Kou with squinted eyes, and Uncle Kou became angry and said, "Otherwise, you explain it. Explain it yourself."
Lu Xiuzhi took the paper from Kou Xuanling and said, "Uncle is right."
Uncle Kou was delighted: "Listen, my fifth nephew's brothers are very knowledgeable."
Chen Yang: Even my uncle has been called, it’s so fast.
Lu Xiuzhi: "You have heard of the idiom '碧血丹心'. It refers to a loyal minister Chang Hong in the Zhou Dynasty who served the Zhou Dynasty but received no good reward. After his death, his blood turned into jasper, so there is the term 碧血丹心. Chang Hong was good at magic and tried to revive the Zhou Dynasty. He once forced the princes to come to the court with matters of ghosts and gods. The State of Jin launched an attack on the Zhou Dynasty, and the Zhou Dynasty killed Chang Hong to quell its anger. Later, the State of Jin split into several small countries such as Wei and Zhao, and was finally annexed by Qin. It is rumored that Chang Hong's disciple set up a thirty-six-pass evil trap in the territory of Jin to seek revenge, and the disciple buried his nine-year-old daughter alive in the center of the trap as the main tomb. It destroyed the national destiny of Jin, and later Jin fell apart. Pingcheng became the territory occupied by Wei and Zhao successively, and later the two countries were also destroyed by Qin."
"I thought it was just a legend, but it turns out to be true." Lu Xiuzhi returned the paper to Kou Xuanling, and received Kou Xuanling's carefully hidden admiration. Kou Xuanling looked a little proud: "Azhi, you really know a lot."
Lu Xiuzhi smiled faintly: "I read a lot of books."
Uncle Kou squeezed in between the two of them, pushed Kou Xuanling out of Lu Xiuzhi's arms, pulled Lu Xiuzhi and said, "I like reading, too. I am the one who likes reading the most in the Kou family. We should have common topics."
Uncle Kou treated Lu Xiuzhi as a close friend, as if he and Lu Xiuzhi were the only intellectuals present, and they were from the same country. He wanted to have a night talk with Lu Xiuzhi, so Kou Xuanling pulled Uncle Kou back and asked Kou's father to take care of him: "Uncle, don't think you can do whatever you want when Auntie is not around."
Uncle Kou glared, thinking that his fifth nephew was not a kind person. But Uncle Kou was afraid of Aunt Kou, and he didn't dare to use idioms in front of her. So Lu Xiuzhi was let go, and Kou Xuanling pulled him and ran away quickly. Uncle Kou was still very depressed and muttered a few words, and was beaten by the other brothers.
Chen Yang watched the show the whole time and felt that the Kou family was full of joy. He returned to his room with a smile, and when he finished washing up and was about to go to bed, he suddenly realized something was wrong. He sat up, checked Baidu time, and confirmed that something was wrong.
The Iron Wall Mountain, the Eight Hells, and the Abhidharma-samuccaya are all Buddhist worldviews, but Buddhism was not introduced to China until the Han Dynasty. The Iron Wall Mountain Tomb was built during the Warring States Period, when Buddhism did not exist. The river-guarding beast first appeared during the Qin and Han Dynasties, which is consistent with the time when Buddhism was introduced.
Chen Yang stood up and sent a message to Kou Xuanling to ask about the river beast in the pool. Kou Xuanling told him in a voice message: "We also suspect that the river beast was transported from the underground river of Tiewei Mountain. There is an underground river in Bijia Mountain, which connects several mountains, including Tiewei Mountain. However, the terrain of Tiewei Mountain is lower than that of Bijia Mountain, so it should be upstream if it is transported from the underground river. I am still wondering who is behind all this."
Chen Yang told Kou Xuanling about his discovery: "… Maybe the previous guess was wrong, but if the explanation doesn't make sense, there will be more puzzles. Ask your 'good brother' if he knows the answer."
Kou Xuanling: "… Why did you emphasize the words 'good brother'?"
"Emphasis." Chen Yang said calmly: "Don't you like it?"
"It's okay, but it feels a little weird. But I can't tell what's weird. I'll go ask Ah Zhi." Kou Xuanling went to ask Lu Xiuzhi and soon got the answer. She said to Chen Yang, "He said he doesn't know. Why don't you ask 'your family'?"
Chen Yang: "Why did you add 'your family'?"
Kou Xuanling was stunned for a moment: "I don't know either."
Chen Yang bared his teeth and sighed silently: The old man is crooked and doesn't know it. He said: "My father is busy, he didn't come to the world of the living to understand the situation, and he may not know it even if he asked. So what do you think
Kou Xuanling was silent for a long time, then asked, "What do you think?"
Chen Yang: "Go deep inside and understand the enemy situation. Dismantle the enemy's conspiracy from within."
Kou Xuanling: "Digging graves?"
Chen Yang: "Be more subtle. This is when the difference between you and Uncle Kou becomes apparent."
"... Chen Xiaoyang, you've been very naughty lately, be careful."
Chen Yang replied with the '略略略' emoticon, quit the chat with Kou Xuanling, and re-sent the whole story to Du Shuo, asking for the reason. Du Shuo replied: [I don't know.]
Chen Yang suddenly became alert: [You also don’t know something?]
Du Shuo: [I haven’t been to the scene to understand the situation, how do I know the situation?]
Chen Yang: [I thought you were so powerful that you knew everything.]
Du Shuo: [Do you want to go to the Tiewei Mountain Ancient Tomb?]
Chen Yang: [Yes. Let’s go in and see what’s going on?]
Du Shuo: [Be careful. If anything happens, call me. If anything goes wrong, push Lu Xiuzhi out and let him stand in front of you.]
Chen Yang became interested: [Do you know Lu Xiuzhi?]
Du Shuo: [I don’t know him. I’ve heard that he hides very well and can handle anything that appears in the ancient tomb.]
Chen Yang: [Who is he?]
Du Shuo didn't reply, so Chen Yang sent dozens of baby-like emojis and a bunch of sweet words. Du Shuo felt relieved and told him about Lu Xiuzhi's identity, and added a conservative guess at the end. Chen Yang only saw the first sentence and was quite shocked.
"I didn't expect it." Chen Yang shook his head repeatedly, feeling it was incredible. After being shocked, he sighed: "Another old cow eating young grass."
The next day at noon, when the sun was at its brightest, Chen Yang, Kou Xuanling and Lu Xiuzhi appeared at the foot of Tiewei Mountain with all their preparations. The three of them had come here secretly without telling the Kou family. The elders of the Kou family unanimously decided to first find a Feng Shui treasure land to bury the remains of their ancestors, and then solve the problem of the Tiewei Mountain Tomb. After all, the Tiewei Mountain Tomb has existed for thousands of years, not just for a moment.
When they gathered, Chen Yang couldn't help but look at Lu Xiuzhi. Lu Xiuzhi had almost no presence beside Kou Xuanling. Chen Yang finally understood why he felt familiar with Lu Xiuzhi, because he had a weak presence like Du Shuo. It was as if there was a layer of mist covering them. They could easily control this layer of mist. If the mist faded, no one could ignore them.
Kou Xuanling said: "We sneaked into Tiewei Mountain from the small path."
Lu Xiuzhi asked with a smile: "Why?"
"We are not the only ones who want to go into Tiewei Mountain to investigate. My cousins must have sneaked in. My dad, uncle, and several uncles are all guarding outside. They were caught and sent back one by one." Kou Xuanling was quite proud: "I had guessed that they would block people in Tiewei Mountain, and they would choose noon when the sun is the strongest and Tiewei Mountain is not so gloomy. My dad and his friends would also go back to eat. There would be fewer people left behind, and I know a small path that they don't know about."
Kou Xuanling led them to hide in the distance and watch. Sure enough, he saw his cousins sneaking into Tiewei Mountain and being chased down like dogs. "Look."
Lu Xiuzhi pressed Kou Xuanling's head and left quickly. It was so fast that Kou Xuanling didn't react much. Lu Xiuzhi smiled and said, "Ah Xuan is the smartest."
Chen Yang curled his lips, and a line of words floated before his eyes: Grandparents and grandchildren love, moral decline.
Kou Xuanling led the two of them along a short path and into Tiewei Mountain. Tiewei Mountain was covered with dense forests. Although it was noon, the deeper we went, the darker it became. The sun could not penetrate at all. The forest was very quiet, and no birds could be heard.
Chen Yang: "Which direction is the ancient tomb?"
Kou Xuanling scratched his chin: "Our ancestors didn't record it."
Chen Yang: "So we have to find it ourselves?"
Kou Xuanling took out a compass and a Feng Shui book from his backpack and handed the book to Lu Xiuzhi: "Help me explain the formula and I'll find the direction." He looked up and said to Chen Yang: "I brought the tools."
Chen Yang looked at Kou Xuanling quietly and blinked. He forced a smile but chose to swallow his rude words and sighed, "Feng Shui can find ancient tombs, but generally the ancient tombs are chosen in Feng Shui treasures. Find a good dragon, good sand, good water, and find the real cave. The real cave must be an auspicious cave. Even if you find it, it may be a false cave. What's more, we are looking for an ancient tomb with thirty-six levels of evil, which has at least thirty-five sitting coffins replacing the main tomb. I thought you had a map."
"There is no map." Kou Xuanling said innocently, "I said before that our ancestors had very few records about the ancient tomb, just a few words. I think it shouldn't be difficult to find the ancient tomb using Feng Shui. Tiewei Mountain is not that big."
Lu Xiuzhi took over Kou Xuanling's compass, adjusted it and pointed it in the right direction: "Let me look for it. No matter if the ancient tomb is a lucky or unlucky one, or a fake lucky one or a real one, it will not be separated from the three elements of dragon, sand and water. Water is important and can also be used to find ancient tombs. Didn't we fish out the river-suppressing beast from the pond in Bijia Mountain before? The river-suppressing beast is likely to have gone upstream from the underground river. Ancient tombs are usually sealed, but craftsmen usually leave an exit. The exit is mostly located in the underground river, and we go in from the underground river."
Chen Yang: “Okay.”
Lu Xiuzhi quickly found the main river of Tiewei Mountain and walked along the river. In front of him was a very narrow cave entrance that was half a meter high. Water flowed out from it, and it was bottomless. If you want to enter such a narrow cave entrance, you can only wade into the water or sit on a bamboo raft and duck your body the whole way in. It was cramped and stuffy. It made people feel scared at first, and they couldn't help but want to retreat.
Kou Xuanling: "Wade in?"
Chen Yang picked up a stone and threw it into the water. The sound of the water was very dull. "The water is very deep, and I don't know if there are black snakes in it. There may also be eggs of resentful evil. Let's take a bamboo raft and go in."
Kou Xuanling was surprised: "Make a bamboo raft now?"
"No need." Chen Yang walked a few steps and dragged out a bamboo raft that was two meters long and one meter wide from behind a large rock. "It was bought by the tomb robbers who were parasitized by the filth and hidden here."
Kou Xuanling helped him pull the bamboo raft out and push it into the water: "How did you know he bought the raft and hid it here?"
Chen Yang smiled gently: "I brought his diary and map." After that, he jumped off the bamboo raft and took out the diary and map from his bag.
Kou Xuanling jumped onto the bamboo raft and helped Lu Xiuzhi to stand firmly while shouting, "You have a diary and a map, and you want me to find the entrance to the ancient tomb by myself?"
"I'll give you a chance to express yourself." Chen Yang looked into Lu Xiuzhi's calm eyes and smiled gently and harmlessly. He didn't say that he was deliberately testing Lu Xiuzhi, Kou Xuanling couldn't see it, but Lu Xiuzhi could definitely see it.
Lu Xiuzhi looked away expressionlessly.
Chen Yang took out his phone and found that there was no signal: "There is no signal here, and there will be even less signal inside."
Kou Xuanling took out his cell phone and said, "I don't have a signal either."
Chen Yang tried to send a message to Du Shuo and successfully sent it: "Fortunately, I can keep in touch with Brother Du." Kou Xuanling came up and asked: "Why can you still contact Director Du when there is no signal?"
"Last time at Jinshui Middle School, due to signal problems, the message delivery was sporadic. Later, my husband thought this was a big problem, so he opened a dedicated line."
"What line?"
"Special line from the underworld to the living world."
The author has something to say: Why do I feel that the term "pestle-mortar friendship" is really dirty? My pure soul has been polluted by the white liquid.
In addition, I always feel that Chen Xiaoyang and Lao Kou are showing off their love in the competition and hurting each other or something like that.
ps: Adding more chapters is not a good idea, it will damage the author's kidneys.
