Chapter 110

The bus moved forward and passed another bus going in the opposite direction. That bus was also empty.

There were few pedestrians on the street, all of them hurried along with their heads down. The bus stopped at two or three stations, the doors opened and closed as a female voice announced the stops, but no one got on the bus.

Yan Bubu kept looking out the window, and a middle-aged man carrying a woven bag appeared in his field of vision. When the bus was parallel to him, a young man suddenly rushed up from behind and pointed a sharp knife at him.

"Hey!" Yan Bubu just stood up suddenly and saw the middle-aged man handing him the shriveled woven bag.

He looked calm and numb, as if he had encountered this kind of thing many times before and was very used to it.

The young man took the woven bag, put away the knife, and walked forward leisurely.

Boom!

The roar of motorcycles was heard from behind, and several strangely shaped assembled motorcycles rushed over, one of which had a car-style round steering wheel.

When passing by the young man, the person in the back seat of the car suddenly reached out and snatched the woven bag from his hand.

A puff of tail smoke came out of the rear of the motorcycle and it quickly moved forward. The young man and the middle-aged man continued to move forward as if nothing had happened, still maintaining a distance of more than ten meters between them.

—It was as if nothing had happened before and they were just two strangers who had nothing to do with each other.

Yan Bubu watched this scene in shock, and reached out to push Feng Chen beside him: "Brother, did you just see that? That man's bag was robbed, and the person who robbed him was robbed by another person, but they didn't react at all."

Feng Chen just turned his gaze back and said lightly: "Sit down."

There were sirens in the distance and black smoke billowing from several places. Yan Bubu finally understood why there were so few people on the street and the doors of the houses along the road were all closed.

Yan Bubu didn't look out the window again, but stared blankly ahead. After a moment, he asked Feng Chen, "This is a city that we have built with great effort. Why are you messing around with this again?"

Feng Chen closed his eyes slightly. Street lights flashed outside the car window, making his face dim.

"Because of despair. I might turn into a zombie any day. There is no hope at all."

The bus arrived at the C Zone Station and the two got off. There was still no one on the platform, only a piece of cardboard spinning in the wind, making a rustling sound.

"I always feel like this is at night..." Yan Bubu shrank his head, hid his neck in the high collar of his sweater, and hugged Feng Chen's arm.

Opposite the bus stop is a large shed area, with a striking line of words on the gate: Area C resettlement site. This resettlement site is quite large, covered with a curved dome, which should be some kind of heat-insulating and cold-proof material, somewhat like the plantation in Haiyun City.

After entering the resettlement site gate and arriving at the reception hall, Feng Chen reported the two names to the staff. After checking on the computer, the staff stood up and said, "Come with me."

Walking through the open space and entering the dormitory area of the resettlement site, all kinds of noisy voices suddenly filled my ears.

Yan Bubu was led by Feng Chen into a narrow passage with rooms on both sides. There were lights at intervals above the passage, but many of the bulbs were broken and the light was sometimes bright and sometimes dim.
