Chapter 79

The cold wind was biting and the breath turned into white mist. Feng Chen sat with his back to the bow, blocking the wind for Yan Bubu.

As the hovercraft passed Haiyun City, he found that the flood had receded a lot after just one night, and some ruins that were once submerged in water were exposed.

Haiyun City no longer looked like a vast expanse of water. Some buildings were popping up from the water, indicating that it was once a prosperous city.

"The sea level is dropping, and the flood water that flows into the sea is also receding rapidly. Extreme cold weather is coming soon." Lin Fen said.

There was a huge cargo ship parked at the dock, which was about the same size as the previous honeycomb ships, but it did not have as many floors of rooms.

There were several hovercrafts on the sea next to the freighter, and people were boarding the ships under the command of the soldiers.

When Feng Chen's ship approached, the other hovercrafts made way to let this ship go first.

The noisy voices disappeared, and the people on the boats on both sides looked at Feng Chen and Yan Bubu in his arms with complicated and varied looks.

A gust of wind blew, and the blanket covering Yan Bubu's face was blown away. He quickly pressed it down with his hands and covered it again, but there were also some whispers in his ears.

Feng Chen didn't look at them the whole time, just stared indifferently at the area in front of him.

The hovercraft stopped at the freighter's gangway. Lin Fen and Yu Yuan boarded first, and Feng Chen followed behind, holding Yan Bubu.

When he stepped onto the gangway with both feet, a strange man's voice suddenly sounded not far away.

"Major General Lin, I want to say a few words to you."

Lin Fen kept walking and replied without looking away: "If you have anything to say, wait until the boat leaves."

"Major General Lin, everyone knows that the child you are holding behind you has been bitten by a zombie. What will happen if he gets on the boat?" the man continued.

Feng Chen paused and looked at the man who was speaking.

The man looked at him and then looked away. He had obviously seen the killing scene yesterday, but he still insisted on continuing: "Major General Lin, everyone knows how scary zombies are. If you let the child get on the boat, if something happens, there will be sea all around, and there will be nowhere to escape. There are people on the boat..."

Lin Fen didn't stop at all and continued to walk up, but seven or eight voices were heard in the crowd.

"Major General Lin, if that child was a patient with a fever, no one would have any objection. But he was indeed bitten by a zombie. When he passed by me just now, the blanket was blown open a little by the wind, and I saw that his face was blue. He was about to turn into a zombie."

"Major General Lin, I'm not an ungrateful person. Thanks to you and the Western Alliance, we are still alive and can go to the central city. If it was still a cruise ship, I wouldn't say a word if you wanted to take a zombie child with you. But now it's a cargo ship. There are no rooms to isolate us. Everyone is crowded together. If someone gets bitten, the consequences are unimaginable..."

An elderly man also shouted, "Major General Lin, I know you pity that child, and I pity him too. He is just a seedling that has just emerged from the soil and has only seen the sun for a few days. At my age, it doesn't matter whether he dies or not, but there are children on the boat. It's not that I'm cruel, but if I let this child on board, what will happen to the other children?"
