Zhulan had memories of the Jiang family. She followed the direction of the crying sound and saw that it was the room where her daughter lived. She ignored the Jiang family members who came out of the main room and walked quickly into the house with a gloomy face. The room was a little cold without her daughter at home. The two children were sitting in the quilt. The granddaughter was crying and the three-year-old grandson was coaxing her.

The little girl's face was red from crying. Zhulan's heart skipped a beat and she rubbed her hands until they were cool. Then she touched her granddaughter's forehead and found that she didn't have a fever. She touched her grandson again and found he didn't have a fever either. She exhaled and touched under the quilt and found it was a little warm. She probably thought it was because her daughter had heated the kang when she left. No one was lighting the fire at noon, so the room became cold. When she thought of the two young children being alone in the room, with no one to look after them and no one to light the fire, Zhulan became more and more angry.

When the three-year-old Jiang Du saw that it was his grandmother, he cried along with his sister, feeling particularly aggrieved, "Grandma, Grandma, I miss you so much."

He always wanted to go to his grandmother's house, but his mother wouldn't let him. He wanted to eat egg custard, pastries, and his grandparents who were so kind to him.

Zhulan wiped her grandson's tears and coaxed him, "Okay, don't cry. Grandma will take you to grandma's house. Be good and don't cry."

The little granddaughter sniffled and stopped crying. Children are the most sensitive. She grabbed Zhulan's clothes and refused to let go. The little girl didn't say much. She sobbed and touched her flat belly, "I'm hungry."

Zhulan's face was dark. The child didn't eat enough in the morning, and his stomach kept growling. She hurriedly took out the prepared candy from her purse and gave it to the child, "Eat the candy first to slow down, and wait for grandma to pack your clothes, and then have some snacks."

Jiang Du held his sister obediently, watching his grandmother get on the kang and pack clothes without blinking. He was afraid that he was dreaming, so he swallowed the sugar water in his mouth. It was sweet and it was not a dream. His thin smiling face became happy, and he would not be hungry when he went to his grandmother's house.

Zhulan had the key given by the eldest daughter. Fortunately, the Jiang family was not so mean as to rummage through the boxes. The lock was securely hung on the box. Zhulan touched the dowry box. This was the dowry prepared by the original body. When Xuemei got married, the dowry was so rich that anyone in the surrounding villages could get it. The dowry boxes were all made of fine wood.

Zhulan felt more and more guilty. The original couple really loved their eldest daughter, but she and Zhou Shuren forgot about it. When she used the key to open the box, Zhulan took a look and felt sad. Only some dowry materials were left of the dowry.

Fortunately, the eldest daughter was not stupid. She did not think of sending gifts to resolve the conflict. She also knew that good things could be brought to her home. The clothes of her two grandchildren were all good. Zhulan felt a little relieved.

Zhulan had almost finished cleaning up, but none of the women from the Jiang family came over. Zhulan suddenly understood that the original body would take action without making any noise, and the women from the Jiang family were afraid and hid away.

Zhulan dressed the two children neatly, went to the car to get two pieces of prepared cakes, and also brought back the hot water pot. The pot was covered tightly and the temperature was about 40 degrees, which was just right for drinking after pouring it out.

The two children ate carefully, one piece each. Zhulan touched her grandson's head and said, "Xiao Du, watch your sister eat. Grandma will go to the main room to talk to your grandmother. I will come back to take you back later, okay?"

Jiang Du licked the pastry at the corner of his mouth and said, "Well, grandma, I will take good care of my sister. Grandma, please come back soon."

He wanted to go to his grandmother's house as soon as possible because there were delicious food there and he wouldn't go hungry.

Zhulan: "Okay."

Zhulan closed the door and walked towards the main room with a gloomy face. Zhou Shuren's voice was the only one in the hall. His tone never changed. Zhulan listened to Zhou Shuren saying, "My dear relatives, several families have been unwilling to exploit Jiang Sheng's labor to compensate for his tuition. This is not fair. My dear relatives and Jiang Sheng's brothers agreed to his tuition. Why do they resent him in the end? It's rare for a village to pass the exam to become a scholar, and there are even more people who are stuck as a student. We should have been prepared for it. Now it's Jiang Sheng who has been wronged. Isn't it too much?"
