On the top of the mountain, an ancient temple stood tall, and the sound of wooden fish chanting lingered in the air. In front of the mountain gate, Bai Suzhen looked up and glanced at the three powerful characters "Jinshan Temple" on the horizontal plaque. She took a step forward and said loudly to the closed temple door: "Bai Suzhen wants to see the great Zen Master Fahai." As soon as she finished speaking, someone interrupted and said -
"Bai Suzhen, I have been waiting for you for a long time!" With a creak, the temple gate opened, and thirty or forty young monks rushed out, quickly running to Bai Suzhen and standing in formation on her left and right. Bai Suzhen did not move, and her eyes were calm. The other party had captured Bai Fu and Hei Mian and had taken great pains to bring her here, so they would not treat her with courtesy. Such a scene was also within her expectations. However, when she saw the old monk walking out slowly, she was startled: "It's you?" She recognized the tall and thin old monk with white beard and eyebrows on the stone steps at a glance. He was the one who almost killed her thousands of years ago. Bai Suzhen's previous doubts were immediately resolved... No wonder Fahai's name sounded familiar to her, no wonder the other party asked for her by name... It turned out to be an old acquaintance. Thinking of the hatred and entanglement between her and Fahai, Bai Suzhen smiled bitterly in her heart, but her face had returned to being calm: "It's been many years since we last met. I hope you are well, Master."
Fahai snorted coldly, not appreciating his kindness. He looked at Bai Suzhen with a gloomy face, and suddenly said angrily: "Bai Suzhen, you are now very accomplished in Taoism. It seems that the six elixirs that I gave you back then really played an important role."
Bai Suzhen sighed secretly, and her grudge with the other party could be traced back to thousands of years ago. At that time, she was still a novice in Taoism. Once, she was playing in the mountains and forests and was accidentally caught by a snake catcher. She almost lost her life. Fortunately, a little shepherd boy who happened to pass by rescued her from the snake catcher, and she escaped. Later, the snake catcher worshipped Buddhism and became a Buddhist disciple. He possessed a certain level of cultivation. Later, because of his diligent practice, he was fortunate to be rewarded with six elixirs by the Buddha. She, Bai Suzhen, was young and had a temper for the moment, so she stole the six elixirs. The snake catcher at that time, who later became a Buddhist disciple, was Fahai in front of him. Now, hearing his tone, he was still resentful about the theft of the six elixirs. However, Fahai should not have involved Qing'er and the Five Dragon Envoys because of the grudges of the year. Thinking of Xiaoqing being injured by her and still unconscious, Bai Suzhen's fingers could not help but clench slowly. However, she could not take action to avenge Xiaoqing immediately. Bai Fu and the others were still in the other party's hands. She had to find a way to rescue them first. After pondering for a moment, she said to Fahai, "Master Fahai, Suzhen stole your six elixirs, which was indeed wrong. If you mind it, Suzhen has nothing to say. But if you want to punish them, you can just find Suzhen. There is no need to involve other people... Please let Bai Fu and the others go."
Fahai seemed to have heard a huge joke and sneered, "Bai Suzhen, what qualifications do you have to ask me to let those lonely ghosts go?"
Bai Suzhen frowned, a cold expression on her face: "Fahai, you captured Bai Fu and the others just to lure me to Jinshan Temple. Now that it's your wish, why do you have to embarrass others?"
Fahai snorted coldly, "Bai Suzhen, I'm telling you, not only will I not let go of those wandering ghosts, but I'm going to capture you as well today. I'm going to suppress you under the Leifeng Pagoda, and you'll never be able to be reborn!"
Bai Suzhen said in a serious tone: "Fahai, I, Bai Suzhen, have neither killed any living being nor violated the Heavenly Law. Although you are a disciple of Buddhism, what reason do you have to accept me?"
Fahai raised his eyebrows and laughed, "Bai Suzhen, why would I need a reason to take in a monster like you?"
Bai Suzhen shook her head and said, "Fahai, after all, you are so aggressive just for those six elixirs—"
"So what?" Fahai's laughter suddenly stopped, his face darkened, and he said coldly, "Bai Suzhen, yesterday's cause is what led to today's consequences. You should blame yourself if you want to blame someone! - Form a formation!" With a shout, the little monks beside Bai Suzhen suddenly formed groups of three into a square formation and surrounded Bai Suzhen.
“Evil creature, this formation is specially set up for you by me, so you better watch carefully!” Fahai raised his hand and threw out a string of Buddhist beads. The beads grew in size when encountering wind, and fell from mid-air, trapping Bai Suzhen in it.
"Namo Sadhatha Sugadoye..." Fahai suddenly began to recite a sutra in a low voice. As soon as he started to recite, all the young monks also started to recite - "Namo Bhagavardi Mahakalayadili Paranakara Vitra..." While the sutra was being recited, the Buddhist beads on the ground seemed to be controlled by some force. They slowly rose into the air, shrank in circles, and wrapped around Bai Suzhen. However, the Buddhist beads had just touched Bai Suzhen's clothes when they were suddenly broken with a "pop" sound as if struck by lightning. All the Buddhist beads scattered and flew at the young monks, and they cried out in pain.
Fahai looked at Bai Suzhen in disbelief, his eyes falling on a small pendant around her neck. There was a jade pendant there, shaped like a drop of water, blood-red all over, with light flowing. The huge power that broke the Buddhist beads just now came from the jade pendant.
Bai Suzhen reached out her hand and touched the blood jade that Qing'er had given her around her neck. A smile appeared on her lips. She looked up at Fahai, but saw Fahai muttering something. A few golden lights flashed by, and the Buddhist beads scattered on the ground turned into a team of golden armored soldiers. Holding swords, they rushed towards Bai Suzhen. However, Bai Suzhen's figure suddenly disappeared from the spot. The golden armored soldiers who had missed their target looked at each other in bewilderment. Suddenly, a white light swept by, and all the golden armored soldiers were cut in half by the white light. Fahai frowned on the stone steps, but saw Bai Suzhen's figure reappear on the spot. She glanced at the broken limbs and bodies on the ground, flicked her sleeves, and a breeze passed by. All the broken limbs and bodies on the ground disappeared like clouds and smoke. She looked up at Fahai, smiled slightly, and said, "This trick of scattering beans to make soldiers can only deal with ordinary people. - Fahai, you might as well show some real skills!"
"Bai Suzhen, don't be so arrogant! I will let you see how powerful I am now!" As if he was enraged, Fahai muttered something in a low voice, stretched out his hand, and a golden bowl flew towards him quickly in the void.
Bai Suzhen saw the Buddha light coming out of the golden bowl and realized it was a Buddhist treasure. She became serious and raised her hand. A white silk thread came out from her sleeve and struck the golden bowl like lightning. Fahai jumped up and reached out to catch the golden bowl. Bai Suzhen rushed forward like lightning, blocked Fahai's hand, shook the golden bowl away, and slapped Fahai on the shoulder.
