Chapter 765: Sad to leave without saying goodbye

After hearing Austin's gradually steady breathing, Gilbert opened his eyes. He walked out of bed slowly, and after turning around to glance at Austin who was sleeping soundly, he left the room resolutely.

Walking to the corridor of the guest room, Gilbert walked to the room where DeWitt and the others were.

After hearing the voices of people talking inside, he raised his hand and knocked gently on the door.

DeWitt and the others stopped talking when they heard the knock on the door. Abel picked up the weapon placed by the bed, and cautiously approached the door.

DeWitt and Claremont also got out of bed one after another, followed behind Abel, and stood ready.

"Who?" Abel asked in a low voice.

"Gilbert." A thin voice came through the crack of the door.

DeWitt frowned strangely, as if he couldn't understand why Gilbert came to them at this time.

After the three looked at each other, Abel slowly opened the door. Gilbert rushed in from the door immediately, he was not even half the height of Abel. At this time, it is more flexible and light.

"I'm leaving soon, and I'm here to bid you farewell." Gilbert sat down on a chair in the room and said softly.

"Now?" DeWitt asked doubtfully, looking at the dark sky outside the window.

"Yes," Gilbert nodded and said, "Thank you for your care during this time."

Claremont hesitated and said, "During this time, the one who took care of you the longest was Austin. Did you say goodbye to him?"

"No." Gilbert shook his head dejectedly, and said, "I'm worried that I will be reluctant to leave."

Seeing Abel's hesitant to speak, DeWitt signaled him not to speak.

"I came to you this time because of Austin." Gilbert took a sip of tea and continued, "I hope you can take good care of him. You agreed to my request before, and you won't break your promise."

"Of course," DeWitt nodded, "Besides, Austin is one of our soldiers, and it was our responsibility to take care of him."

"Well, that's good." Gilbert stood up and said, "Goodbye."

In the end, Claremont couldn't help but ask, "Why did you leave in such a hurry, didn't you even have time to say goodbye?"

"No more." Gilbert raised the corner of his mouth and said with a pale smile, "The rest of the time now can only be spent trying to live or die."

When the three adults heard this sentence, their expressions showed a hint of impatience.

"I hope you can succeed." Abel said.

"Thank you." Gilbert bent slightly and said, "If I die, please don't tell Austin."

After saying this, Gilbert turned and left without hesitation.

Turn over the railing in the corridor and jump to the lobby on the first floor. There was no sound during the whole process.

The three of DeWitt stood in the corridor, looking at Gilbert's back as he broke through the door.

Claremont sighed, and said, "It's just a minor child, but he acts like an old man. Between him and Austin, I really don't know who is taking care of whom."

"Take care of each other." DeWitt responded softly: "Their feelings are two-way."

In the early morning of the next day, all the people staying in the hotel were woken up by the screams of the hotel owner.

"My door! Someone smashed my door!" The innkeeper's face turned green.

Abel, who hadn't woken up, got out of bed directly, walked to the corridor on the second floor, and shouted to the downstairs: "Boss, I'm sorry. My brother is too drunk, so I will give you the precious store door." If it crashes, I will give you compensation when the bill is settled later."

The innkeeper looked at Abel's strong muscles, and his expression suddenly became complicated. But he didn't yell anymore.

When Abel thought he could finally get clean and go back to sleep for a while.

Austiner sprinted from the room to his front, shouting loudly: "Captain Abel, Gilbert."

Abel sighed silently in his heart: I forgot that there is still this stubble.

"He's home." Abel waved his hand and said.

"What?" Austin said incredulously, "Why do you all know it, but I..."

"Our destination is different from his, so of course we have to say goodbye here." Abel said, "It is estimated that his family members are in a hurry to tell him to go back. So we left early in the morning."

"So that's the case." Austin suddenly lost his energy.

He originally wanted to take Gilbert to the teleportation array, but when he woke up this morning, Gilbert was nowhere to be seen.

Seeing Austin's dimmed expression, Abel couldn't help comforting him: "Go back and sleep for a while, cheer up, we are going to start the mission today."

"Yes." Austin replied.

Abel patted him on the shoulder and returned to his room. Looking at Dewitt and Claremont who had fallen asleep again, he sighed and lay down on the bed to rest.

Austin returned to his room, and according to what Abel said, he lay on his bed.

The fellow soldiers who had been quarreled before saw the expression on his face, and the words of accountability were blocked in their throats, and they didn't intend to speak again.

"Woo, woo!" After a while, Austin wrapped himself in the quilt and whimpered.

The expressions of the others also became sad. They looked at each other and got out of bed. Taking his own clothes, he gently closed the door and backed out.

After everyone washes up, it's breakfast time.

After hearing what Abel said about what happened this morning, DeWitt turned his attention to the table with Austin and the others, but he didn't find Austin. It is clear in my heart.

Worried about Austin's physical condition, DeWitt picked up a breakfast and walked to the guest room on the second floor.

"Guests, food and beverages cannot be brought into the guest room." A waiter stopped DeWitt and said.

"Sorry, one of my comrades is not feeling well, I'll go and see him." DeWitt explained to the waiter with a smile.

The waiter nodded hesitantly and let go.

"Thank you," DeWitt said.

Knocking on the door of Austin's room, DeWitt called softly, "Austinger, are you there?"

"Yes." Austin's voice came from inside.

"May I come in?" DeWitt asked politely again.

"...Yes." Austin replied after hesitating for a while.

DeWitt walked in with the plate in his hand, saw Austin, whose eyes were red, and handed over the food in his hand. Wen Sheng said, "Let's eat something first."
